Informations
Marks Vice City Mounatin is an addon for Marks Fun Island. It's 1100 units x 750 units big. The heighest point is 160 units. Here is a map to compare it with Vice City:

Landscape
The landscape of Marks Vice City Mountain has a lot to show. The border of Marks Vice City Mountain has some beaches and bays. Some units higher you find the important part of Marks Vice City Mountain you enter by a tunnel. A highway goes around the mountain. It leads through a forest, above a river and through the town.

In the north of Marks vice City Mountain you find another mountain, Mount Lazio. It is nearly 100 units heigh. On his top you will find a mansion or a castle. That mountain has a lot of surprises.

Marks Vice City Mountain has also a river and a see. Driving along the river you get to a waterfall which goes to the ocean of Vice City.

Beach City
Beach City is a small place on the coast of Marks Vice City Mountain. By tunnel and bridge you get to it where you drive once in a circle and you are allready back to the bridge. There is a plaza with GTA 3 statue, an apartment house and an imbiss Burger Time.

Mount Lazio
That's Mount Lazio:

Mount Lazio is a mountain on Marks Vice City Mountain. It's 400x300 units big and 70 units high. Per road with many curves or per a dangerous way you get to its top. There you find a mansion with a garden with a pool, hedges and many trees. Currently I don't know whether I will make an interiour or not.

The town

The town of marks Vice City Mountain is on a small hill. It's splited into 3 parts:

  • Part 1 - public zone
  • Part 2 - Ghetto
  • Part 3 - Rich quarter
Town Part 1
It's the first part of the town I show you. It contains a bank named MVCM International Bank, a parking place, an appartment house, two skyscrapers and a park. The buildings are built very complicated, because the town isn't flat. The park has a surprise. On a place you can go downstairs under the park where you find restrooms you should know from GTA III. There is also a luxurious apartment house with shops and a pool on the top. The biggest skyscraper circular form and has an interiour. Per elevator you get to the top where you can enjoy the view.

Town Part 2
The second part of the town is the ghetto. Here you find many neglected buildings with shops. There lives a gang. Currently there aren't more informations about this gang.

Town Part 3
The third part of town is the rich quarter. There is a park with a little tower. In addition there is a long apartment house with grass and plants near the road. The parking garage will be an important place for gang wars. Last you find a luxurious hotel and an office building.

Story
I didn't think much about the story yet. There aren't details. The story is about gang wars. The town is splited into 3 zones. There is the public zone with normal inhabitants, skyscrapers, shops and a park. The second zone is a ghetto with neglected buildings, a gang lives there. The other gang lives in a rich zone. Currently I don't know in which gang you will play. More informations soon!

We still need a mountain to skydive and when you hit the bottom you actually die, instead of losing 15 health or whatever, and there is a height that does that, its just very high..

I would say copy not move. When I will release it for VC and you think it's good and it fits into Myriad you can take it. wink.gif

I will not make it higher.

1. It wwould take a lot of time to make it heigher (the mainland is splited into 7 objects with changed coll files)

2. It wouln't look realisitic. A mountain in the coast of VC shouldn't be so high.

You shouldn't make the mountain an Island...you should put a tunnel to make it seem like it's going somewhere, and then just put a barricade there. I mean a island is great, but I don't know, it just looks a little off...

I tried to make the landscape realistic. The landscape is done and it took a lot of time. I want to release Marks Vice City Mountain before R* releases San Andreas. I will not change the landscape anymore. wink.gif

I'll keep a look out for this and convert it to Myriad whether its used or not, since it won't be done for a while i'll just watch the progress. But it does look nice so far. smile.gif

Its getting better and better, your proving to be quite the map modeller these days. Is the polycount high for this so far? Seems to look fairly detailed.

The polycount isn't very high. The whole landscape with all roads, sidewalks and such has 13000 polygons. The coll has 10000. Beach City has two objects. Buildings - 3000 polygons ; Statue - 2000 polygons. I made an extra object for the statue, because I will put it also somewhere else on the mountain. The mountain will have 60 object (with lod), because of the ide-limit. wink.gif

Outstanding work, LF. Once you have finished this, would you consider joining Curveshire? The mountainous roads with trees and rivers is similar to Curveshire, apart from it covers about 4 square kilometers. Adding all the generic junk into maps really does make them hugely more immersive. In just a couple of hours a really plain landscape can turn into something very realistic and natural-looking. Good stuff.

 

(EDIT) Your signature is massively too big. Better change it before the staff see it!

Curveshire looks interesting, but currently I think I can't join it. First I must finish that mod and I'm also working on GTA Berlin. When I finish MVCM I will also make a map for SA. There is also my site I'm working on.

Points to the fact he said Fun Islands and not Marks VC Mountain which is what this topic is about.

 

You can download the Fun Island mod from LF's website. But this topic is regarding the mountain. wink.gif
