Here's a new honda bike im working on. still there's much to do. now this is my primary project but the honda crf450 will also be updated

 

the bike will ave more or less the same poly count as the honda crf4500 (35k polys~)

 

also expect it some day in san andreas streets smile.gif

you use nurbs? just wondering i been learning alot about them lately.

I dont know a sh*t about nurbs ehehehIts poly modelling from a plane object in 3dsmax. then i use meshsmooth and it gets that smooth look smile.gif

@prophetman: meshshooth = NURMS (unless you revert the meshsmooth method to an uber old version which looks crap)

and nice bike so far

 

@mugen: if he leaves meshsmooth on, it will be high poly, otherwise it will be mid poly i think

well dont really know too much about how meshsmooth works, just how to use it smile.gif, the thing is what i do to model the bike is create a plane and give it the right shape..

and the poly go down quite a bit... anyway the objective is to habve the final model between 30.000-40.000 polygons

the one 2004 yamaha r1 by szkgsxr1000 is like 60,000+ polys and it worked fine on my pc with a fully modded game. so i have hopes for this if he can keep it down to 40,000 polys im sure it will be just fine. he just needs to make the textures small though. if anything just have a bunch of 512x512 images. thanks a lot for the comments and support i really apreciate it very much smile.gif

 

about textures, it always good to have the textures in the .txd file compressed in DXT format, that saves a lot of memory when in game and lets the use of nice big textures with not such a big impact ingame

 

concerning the ten kate cbr, the main problem is it being the 2004 model since im working on a 2005 omdel. anyways, i will probably release alternative texture packs for it to resemble competition custom bikes.. but it will most likely be for the 2005 model

 

 

So here's a little update. i have completely redone the seat and rear fender area (note that these pics are 3dsmax renders)

i've been following this one quietly and i must say this bike is looking seriously nice and has come along quickly, i just hope that the polycount won't turn vice city into a slideshow and spoil the fun that this sort of bike is supposed to give.

in the renders the bike has the double of polygons but in game it will be not so many polygons while still will look quite smooth.

 

also when its actually finished ill start cleaning every mesh that has too many polys, i do this the last thing because if i do it now i would make it harder to continue working on the mesh and fix possible errors etc.
