Sorry! ------------------------------------------ Richard Zurawski's Rim Polishing guide (not really his own, but meh) 1) If they have a few minor scrapes, use 80grit wet & dry and using a container with water and a block of sunlight soap in it. Block and rub out the scuff marks from the lip on the rim. 2) Then use 240grit wet & dry and using the soap and water rub over the entire mag until it has a satin uniform finish. 3) Then switch to 320 wet & dry sandpaper, again using the soap and water and rub until you get a satin finish all over in the 320grit. 4) Then switch to 600grit wet & dry sandpaper, again rubbing over the entire mag until you have a smooth satin finish with no signs of the previous grits showing. 5) Then switch to 800grit wet and dry sandpaper, rubbing with lots of soap and water, at this stage you will begin to see the rewards of your bleeding fingertips. 6) Then switch to 1000grit wet & dry sandpaper, lightly rubbing over until you can no longer see the marks from the 800grit, make sure you rub the soap with the paper then rub the wheel, you will feel when you need more soap and water. 7) Last step is to use Autosol (metal polish), use a soft fleecy type cloth and rub it in hard doing a section at a time and constantly turning the rag over to rub with clean cloth, if you get it clogged it will start to tarnish and scratch. This is a long process doing it by hand, but I have polished heaps of mags and in different styles like Bathurst Globes I have concentrated on the faces, then painted the recessed areas. Old mags like Aunger 5 slots, Centrelines, VK Calais etc rims are the easiest to do and the finish if done correctly looks fantastic. I normally take a full day per wheel so give yourself a goal, like say one each weekend, you will do it comfortably. But doing polishing this way I have at times doubled or tripled my investment when I have sold them. if you wish to clean your tyres while doing this, sit them in the tub and use a coarse nylon bristle brush, scrub clean with soap and water then when dry, rub in a good coat of Armour all. Doing this both the mag and tyre will look like theyre new. If selling the wheels I always shout them to a new set of centre caps and wheel nuts, looks great on nice shiny wheels and the new chrome reflecting on the polished alloy compliments the whole show. Chunky Lee Chong
The Monaro has the Corvette V8. Take that. I really like the Lupo GTi. I used to be attracted to the Polo GTi, until I learned from a few friends that it shared the same engine as the Lupo. And since the Lupo is smaller, it's faster. It also has nice wheels and a nice wider body.
Hammerchuk
We've had a quite a few car topics lately, but since cars are my favorite thing in the world besides women (when they're not being bitches) I won't complain. Car in my sig is my summer car for now... I'm "looking" for something else but if nothing catches my eye within a reasonable price I'll likely just hold on to this for another summer. My winter beater is an old Chev Tracker, lifted a few inches with 31's and sh*t... Actually going to lift it more and put 35's and set up the doors like a Jeep CJ/YJ/TJ so they can be lifted off... Its just something to play around with I guess... Depending on how things look this summer I may make some payments for my brother on his '04 Yamaha Roadstar Warrior (Cerulean with Silver Flames) and then I'd have a bike to drive too... My dream car is a Dodge Viper: RT/10, GTS Coupe, SRT-10 convertible or coupe) I'll take any of the above... Chunky Lee Chong
We've had a quite a few car topics lately Yeah, well the key to a good topic is to make sure it's run by a few people who are vet's, know sh*t, and are online quite often. Oh look who fits that picture, Pavlov and I. Anyways, IMO, Tracker's suck. Now, I love Chevrolet and all, but the Tracker is just an all around sh*tty ass vehicle. It's the equivalent of the Suzuki Sidekick, which also sucks. Stop going for an imitation Wrangler, and get the real thing.
*gta star*
I would like an SL55AMG Mercedes Benz or an SLR (if I had the money) I love merc's, my dad owns an S500 Merc and thats a dope car, Sat Nav, Tracking system, no key start (starts from gear stick) top speed 155 but its a very big car and its heavy so thats good for a heavy car

I don't want a Jeep, dad worked at Jeep and we've owned 4 different ones and they were nothing but problems... I'm not going to overpay for an old used Jeep when I got a Tracker for free from a neighbor when all I needed was a vehicle for the winter... No trackers aren't fast and powerful, but they are the easiest and cheapest thing to work on and maintain for the road... I'm not going for an "imatation" Jeep, I just want to take the doors off my Tracker if I take it out on the beach... Chunky Lee Chong
GTA Star, the FiftyFive is inferior to the SixtyFive. The "no key start" is called Keyless Go. It uses a transponder the size of a credit card. The S500 could do more than 155, but is electronically limited. The S600 is so much better than the S500, though. EDIT: @ Celica: It's too bad you don't care what I think, but you posted about your car on a PUBLIC forum, and you got a PUBLIC response. If you don't want to hear it, then take your car to a forum of pussies where they'll just baby you with lies. EDIT AFTER YOU EDITED YOUR POST: Your Tracker sucks. *gta star*
The S600 is so much better than the S500, though. yes, but my dad didn't want no bigger, he does alot of travelling across the country so fuel will cost him. I know your thinking the fuel comsumption in the S500 would be mad aswell but actually it isn't. It has a fuel economy valve which is electronic like most things in the car which saves fuel but then again if you put the car into SM (Sports Mode) it drinks petrol mad especially around inner city areas. Yes, the S600 is a much better car, much faster and alot more things which can be put into it (Tele's, Feet Massargers (sp) ) etc but it costs more money onto the total and these cars are not very cheap. I'd only have them off if I was at the beach or back in the woods at my brothers place so they wouldn't really be needed in that situation. I likely won't be driving it any this summer anyways because I'll have my car and the bike aswell. The Tracker is just an old toy that's beat all to f*ck and that's the way it gets treated. But, my man is affected by my size. But, let's not turn this topic into the chat about my Admiral. @ gta star: You have good points. The V12 is surely likely to drink a hell of a lot more gas than the V8, and not to mention it costs around $40 grand more. But, if you can afford it, it's worth it. And if you can afford a car like that, gas money is pocket change.
D-Structo
hmm, next car topic? but however, this topic has a potential. maybe these forums need one BIG car talk, which would be like 10 other topics merged into one. the longest car topic on these forums had probably 12 pages. ok, i don't have a car yet, but my dad has a car. it's 1998 silver Fiat Siena. nothing special, i preferred black 1996 Seat Cordoba. cool color and very powerful engine! my first car will probably be VW Golf Mk2, the version with four front lights. and maybe some aluminium rims... i rather don't like modern cars, i prefer american classics and muscle cars. especially MOPARs but i also appreciate Ford Mustang, especially the years 1968 and 1971. and i very like 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT (the car from my previous sig and avatar, very similar to 1970 Ford Thunderbird). and the car in my current sig is 1967 Dodge Charger. i don't like ricers, especially from Japan. i think that Japan minivans are one of the ugliest. and i don't like what did they done do Hummer. it changed from the heavy-duty army machine which would get practically everywhere, to fancy bigger SUV for rappers and rich businessmans. however, i also like late 70s Pontiacs. like Firebird, i'll add some photos later. *gta star*
thanks^^ My dad's next car is the S600 though, he is gonna set up his current business nearer to home so that means less fuel. Plus he wants one anyway, he always goes up fairly high in engine size, sports cars never really interested him, he just loves Merc's like me! Timage
Never, ever let your sister drive your car. I let mine take my Lancer to work, and she 'forgot' about the solid brick letterbox. She's paying for the damage. We called the wreckers, and it's gonna cost her $150 for the ONE Taillight. Luckily though, I found a pair of altezza ones for $219, a pair! I'm happy. I like them, and that's all that counts really. I should have them by the end of the week. Next step after that is the EVO3 bodykit, then I'm done in terms of exterior enhancements.
