Where is this course and in what mission is it used? I've almost beaten the game and I don't remember it at all.

It's in the Desert. It is the mission after N.O.E. & before Black Project. It's called "Stowaway" Edited by thedude777

I am not talking about the plane, I am talking about that course the one person was talking about. Near Mt. Chiliad or something.

Sorry. I was confused because you didn't quote the post you were talking about...so I assumed you were talking about the previous post, right before yours.

It's the 3rd Chiliad Challenge, you race 2 other guys on mountain bikes through the ramps and stuff. I think it's call cobra or sidewinder or something. Get on the mountain bike at the top during daytime hours.

thedude777, if you can check which ammu-nation's have the CJ target I can add it to the eggs list, nice find. Has anyone else seen it in their games? A pic with CJ next to it would be nice.

w) Ammu-Ammu:

The Ammu-nation in Willowfield LS has a misplaced sign texture, so it reads "Ammu-Ammu" rather than "Ammu-Nation." Thanks to LP_Reanimator.

I believe that was fixed in the PC version...

P.S. I'll check the Ammunation stores.

EDIT: I can't check the stores...Click here for the reason why...

P.S.S. What about the Tarbrush Cafe, Vice City Air?

Somebody has probably already said these things, but the connections I know for the observatory secret include:

There is an observatory on Verdant Bluffs in S Los Santos, NW of the airport,

like the one (Griffith) in LA where the ending of "Rebel Without a Cause,"

1955, was filmed. (One of the stars, Dennis Hopper, did the voice acting for

Steve Scott in "Vice City.")

Ryder looks like Easy-E, a rapper of NWA sometimes referred to as Easy.

Dennis Hopper was one of the stars and writers, and the director, of the movie

"Easy Rider," 1969. Another star of it, and co-writer (along with Terry

Southern), producer Peter Fonda, does the voice of "The Truth" in "San

Andreas."

(PS: "Ryder" was the last main mission I did on PC, so I haven't saved at Madd Dogg's place, but haven't seen the basketball at any courts yet. Does it show up later?)

Also, what are some of the artists names to look for around Mt. Chiliad? All I have for "chiliad" is " a group of 1,000" or "1,000 years." I'm guessing the 1st definition would work as an idea of something very big, like 1,000 mountains rolled into one.

PLEASE look through the list before posting eggs. Even with search down, you can hit Ctrl + F and type in keyword.

xi) The Programmers Are Everywhere:

Have a look at some of the names on the map sometime. Certain areas are references to the names of people who have worked on the GTA series, e.g. Mount Chiliad.

iv) Eazy-E reference:

The character Ryder looks a lot like Eazy-E, the rapper from NWA. He is also referred to as Eazy on some of his records. If you take Eazy and Ryder you get...Easy Rider, relating further to the use of Freeways in the game.

EDIT: There is no doubt in my mind that this is an "Arrowhead" bottle of water:

Who's "Chiliad" the mountain is named for? I haven't found them.

(P.S.: someone said the basketball appears after "Tagging the Turf.")

Sorry I don't have my booklet to check the names, and IMDB's crew listing is incomplete (I only found "Montgomery" from the game).

For PS2, the basketballs are either there from the beginning, or after the mission where Sweet and Smoke are balling in a cutscene. They disappear if you save at Madd Dogg's.

I don't know if any of that has changed on the PC or Xbox versions. Did you check several courts? There's Sweet's, and one north of Grove Street, and one in east LV by V-Rock I think.

Godcell the course is used in a mission, so it's not really a secret. The rancher spawn sounds like a one time accident... I never saw one when I was there...

Jnzooger, that sounds interesting, I checked my pictures of the sex shop but I must not have the right angle...

i'm GodGell, not godcell. smile.gif

here is the video showing the rancher. it only appeared once, and i happened to arrive in a pickup truck at that time, so maybe being in a car made the rancher show up or something.

btw, does this qualify as an easter egg?

Yes, it's #24 in the first post, you can go to page one and hit ctrl+f to keyword search if you are curious about eggs already mentioned.

I have the book that comes with the PC version (the writing is so tiny for my old eyes!) and I couldn't find "Chiliad" in the back. Maybe he worked for them earlier?

I looked in the several courts while upgrading the vehicle and weapon Stats (I've had the game for a week and I'm still doing it! I'll definately keep a copy of my save game after I do) and there's no basketball yet (after "Ryder"). I'll have to try the next mission and look again.

Have a look at some of the names on the map sometime. Certain areas are references to the names of people who have worked on the GTA series, e.g. Mount Chiliad.

Just to clear everything up, here are a few confirmed ones and ones I believe:

*Scott Wilson - Countryside Art - Name is on a tombstone in a cemetary

*Steven Mulholland - Lead Los Santos Art - Maybe related to the naming of the city "Mulholland"

*Lee Montgomery - Interior Enviroment Art - Maybe related to the naming of the city "Montgomery"

*Nicholas Montgomery - Cutscene Supervising Sound Editor - Maybe related to the naming of the city "Montgomery"

*Noelle Sadler - Voice Over Production; voice of Bettina; Radio commercial voice; Pedestrian voice - Maybe related to the naimng of the Truck "Sadler"

*Tony Romero - Pedestrian voice - Maybe related to the naming of the car "Romero"

***Toks Solarin - Character Art - Maybe related to the "Solarin Industries" sign in S.F.

These are just my assumptions except for the 1st one. They may not be true, but just coincedences. These are from the PS2 manual. Not like there's any difference though.

***

#31 - Shady Industries:

In South-Eastern San Fierro at Easter Basin, there is a building that reads "Shady Industries". This refers to Eminem as the original of this exact building can be seen in one of his videos. Note. this sing was removed from the PC versions and "Solarin Industries" appears in it's place. Thanks to thedude777.

P.S. @Mxyzptlk

Note. this sing was removed from the PC versions and "Solarin Industries" appears in it's place.

Spelling errors and stuff. It shoud say:

Note, this sign was removed from the PC version and "Solarin Industries" appears in its place.

Hope I embarrassed you. lol

Thanks! I think a tie-in is probably meant to be imagined for Mulholland, too. It's the name of a wealthy Drive in LA, but his name is also on the grave marker in the window of Funeraria Romero in VC.

I don't know if you're old enough to remember the 1955-1959 TV show "The Phil Silvers Show" (called "Sgt. Bilko" in syndication), but it's big in the UK in reruns like "I Love Lucy" or "The Honeymooners" has been here. Since I think it may be the source of the name "Fort Baxter" in Vice City, I'm wondering if "Doberman" might be named after Private Doberman, played by Maurice Gosfield, who was one of the featured regulars of the show.

Another PC difference I'm seeing is that the moon stays full and doesn't go through phases as I'd heard it would.

(P.S.: I just tried "Taggin' the Turf," and it made the basketball appear.)

Officer P3nT3nny

Hi guys,

I'm new, but I think I found an Easter Egg, at least it looks like it.

In Los Santos, there is a movie studio. I just found it. It seems to be very similar to the movie studio found in GTA: Vice City, just a bit rougher. Take a look:

Here's the map so you can see where it's located:

I don't know if it's really a referral to the movie studio asset in Vice City but it sure is interesting. I recognized it from the big water silos that seem to be in the same place as they were in GTA VC.

Greetings,

P3nt3nny

I think any similarity is most likely to be just the programmer re-using old models. I think if they were going to do an easter egg in the studio they would either copy its layout exactly or add in props or sets from previousl games. Maybe include the shark or a set of Ghost town from GTA3. I found it surprising how little this game featured 'movieland' of Hollywood.

i dunno how much this qualifies as an easter egg, it's rather a little funny reference. after the "breaking the bank at caligula's" mission, there was a news story WCTR which went something like this (not exact quote):

"the LSPD is denying the claim of black helicopters flying over the state. (goes to the scene)

black helicopters? (sound of helicopters flying above) what helicopters?"

this is a reference to south park episode 213 smile.gif

I looked here: southparkstudios.com

Synopsis of episode 213 -

Original air Date: 1998-09-30

South Park's annual "Cow Days" party is happening! The cows become transfixed on a cow statue. In order to get the money they need to win Terrance and Phillip dolls, the boys sign Cartman up for a bull riding contest. A freak accident has Cartman believing he is a Vietnamese prostitute named Ming Li. The boys learn about money and cow insanity.

Does that remind anyone about black helicopters?

I think I got one. I am not sure if it has been mentioned.

Here it goes:

While CJ is doing work with The Truth in South West San Fierro he gets a phone call and the Truth interrupts their conversation to hang up by saying, "I don't know you, Prank caller, Prank caller!" Well that is from Pulp Fiction when the drug hippy hangs up on Vince.

Actually Truth might have called you in the desert.
