Woot. The taillight textures are definitely not final, though they'll probably be that big when I add it into SA. There'll be a VC version while you wait. smile.gif It'll probably replace the Deluxo in VC, and the Bullet in SA.

 

EDIT: The other half was only added for display purposes. It's definitely not final.

I get that a lot of here using Firefox. Right clicking where it says 'user posted image' and clicking on View Image usually works though.

 

As for the model... I'm not really familiar with Ridge Racer so I can't comment on accuracy but it seems a decent effort, nice and low poly. smile.gif

Fixed up the rear window a bit. Also gonna detach the wheelarches soon to fill in that dark triangle round the edges.

 

And if you're complaining about image quality then sorry...PSP creates some mad warped jpegs.

Dunno. Probably before SAPC comes out. Trend usually is there's a loooong gap between my starting rush and completion. But I'll try to narrow out the gap.

Remember, second half's only for display purposes. One question though is why I can't see the texture for the lights through the matte (i.e. the 'glass'), even though it's set all the way to the bottom in the material editor. @[email protected]

Well it is from the early breed of Ridge racers, none of the cars in those games were very smooth.....hows about you try using the good old vibrant colours on it? smile.gif I mean Ridge racer was definately one for being colourful smile.gif-END

@Auron: I'd use more vibrant colors but this is the 13th Racing car, and you know how they're colored. I've created body material for the car but don't expect anything really "vibrant" tounge.gif

 

But back to the texture problem. x.x There are supposed to be lights underneath that transparent matte... and when I textured parts of the interior they "disappeared" behind the windshield.

if i remember correctly (i hope) the stuff "disappearing" can be corrected by fixing the "order" of objects by setting (i cant remember which object really, i think the glass object) the object to the lowest order, or detach>re-attach the glass to the body, should look ok in zmod as well as in game

That may actually solve the windshield problem but what about the lights? Anyhoo, did as much texturing etc. as I could prior to Martin Luther King Day (and college the day afterward.) Also started on the interior. I'm going to curve out the dashboard when I get the doors detached. smile.gif As for the normals...I'll detach the wheelarches later on.

I tried detaching and re-"uniting" the vertices without welding them but the normals still didn't adjust though. X_x

AAAAHHHH DOUBLE POST. Well, I got something done. tounge.gif The car is now properly mirrored.

 

I'd like step-by-step instructions as to how to rectify the little dents on the arch normals, since detaching the wheelarches and reuniting them without welding didn't seem to work. x_X

 

EDIT: The name on the top side of the car is Franco Forelli, my character from BUYG. >3 If you're into creative writing you may want to take a look.

After going through a homework rapture and acquiring a part time job, I have decided to resume my endeavors on this muchly problem-bedeviled project. Got rid of the other half for the time being to finish some missing details in Zmodeler 2, hence the distorted Galaxian banner. This is about as far as I've managed to get before I downloaded the latest version, which freezes up after using it for only 30 seconds. sneaky2.gif

 

EDIT: Posted the wrong picture. This one should work. Note the return to the 'special' headlights. This one's in the freakishly-distorted User view, hence the bad perspective.

Did you think I went busta on this? Actually found time to mod a spoiler. Currently debating as to what to put in the white space, from a textured engine to ripping the engine off a SA DFF.

Oh, and I actually inserted it ingame. XD Don't mind the suspension and wheels, I'm working on that. But what I do need to know is how to get rid of the 'visible dummy' on the door hinge. (white dot)
