Action Replay Max & Gameshark Codes (PS2 Version)

Recommended Posts

hall90

I know I've said it before, but thank you too, Skills, for all you taught me, particularly with coding.

I'm curious though: Does anyone here use temporary cheat device codes? If so, why?

Temporary cheat codes can not be made permanent.

How to regain Denise & Millie as girlfriends after killing them:

To regain Denise: Use Omniconvert to Translate the below code to whatever code device (AR-MAX, Codebreaker, Gameshark) format you use. Load up your device, enter the new code Omniconvert gives you, activate the code and insert your San Andreas disc. Find a firetruck, get in, press R3, wait 10 seconds and the "Burning Desire" mission will load. Complete it and a Heart icon will appear where Denise lives. She will be available for dating.

To regain Millie: Use Omniconvert to Translate the below code to whatever code device (AR-MAX, Codebreaker, Gameshark) format you use. Load up your device, enter the new code Omniconvert gives you, activate the code and insert your San Andreas disc. Find a broadway, get in, press R3, wait 10 seconds and the "Key to Her Heart" mission will load. Complete the mission and a Heart icon will appear where Millie lives. She will be available for dating.

These codes can also be used anytime in the game to get them as girlfriends; in the beginning or upon 100% completion. They are useful for those of you who've lost Denise or Millie by killing them or getting dumped by them.

yo homie, those replay mission codes are not needed. In orionSR cheat creation topic there's a code called: enable all girl friends. This code will bring back all dead girl friends and unlock all girl friends for dating.

Oh crud then. It looks like OrionSR has a faster, more efficient method. I didn't (but should have) read the entirety of his topic; I only read the parts that caught my interest. The method I mentioned was something I came across (accidentally) when doing tests of my own.

Enable All Girlfriends - version codes

The girlfriend progress codes in this table are more reliable than some of the older codes which didn't write the whole dword of the variables. The old codes can't fix a dead or dumped girlfriend with negative progress.

Those are pretty clever Mission Mods codes, and that's a pretty good strategy for enabling Denise and/or Millie, but I'm not sure how well it will work without also changing their progress if they are dead or if CJ is dumped. Millie's stats are not reset by her mission, I'm not so sure about Denise.

You could expand on these codes to enable specific girlfriends, but AR-Max doesn't offer a way to write single bits, so it's impossible to change one girlfriend and leave the others the same.

Denise bit 0

Michelle bit 1

Helena bit 2

Barbara bit 3

Katie bit 4

Millie bit 5

.	.	.	.	M	.	.	.	B	.	i	.	M	.	a	H	c	D	i	K	r	e	h	e	l	a	b	l	e	n	l	t	a	e	l	i	i	i	r	n	l	s	e	e	a	a	e	e	5	4	3	2	1	0	bit1	1	1	1	1	1	= 0x3F1	0	0	0	0	1	= 0x21

You could add up each bit (1,2,4,8,16,32) and convert to hex but I find it easier to put the binary bitmap in a calculator or spreadsheet and convert directly to hex with the bin2hex() function.

I decided to further test and got negative results. After regaining Denise, I was going to activate a date with her when suddenly, I received a phone call from her. Here's the dialogue:

CJ: "Hey, girl!"

Denise: "Chicken-head assh0le!"

CJ: "What, Denise?"

Denise: "Don't even think about sweet talking to me, you no good crash pusher!"

CJ: "What, what you on about, girl?"

Denise: "I've heard the rumors about you Grove Street cluckers (?), about big Smoke and all, but I thought I'll give this boy a chance, but all my friends were right. Only some base pushing assh0le would treat a girl like this."

CJ: "Now what a minute!"

Denise: "Can it, Carl! We're over; finished!"

The heart icon then vanished.

Ok, after checking out your problem GTASAddict and OrionSR reply I did some testing to get dumped by Denise. After shooting her on the first date and hitting her on the second date I got her stats to 80%. She dumped cj on the third date, I saved the game.

phase 1: Used enable all girl friends. Denise heart icon returned but

stats in the pause menu do not return and she will keep dumping you

if you try to date her. So you are right about that.

phase 2: Used enable all girl friends + Denise stats to 100%. Her stats

returned in the pause menu so I got wasted. Went to date her and it

worked. So this 2 code combo will bring back denise icon14.gif

Notes: when I originally tested the enable all girl friends code a few years ago, I tested it on Katie. I kept killing her and the code kept bringing her back. I never thought it was a difference if cj is dumped or if a girl friend is killed.

After I retrieved all oysters, I was able to kill any girlfriend, go back to where I met her, talk to her and get her back with a percentage of 15 and resume dating. Obviously, this wasn't as straightforward with the two exceptions: Denise or Millie, so I experimented. Personally, most girlfriends are obsolete (to me) except for Katie & Barbara. Denise is especially annoying calling the most. I was bombarded with folks spewing the notion that once you kill or get dumped by Millie or Denise that they're gone for good. I was out to destroy the myth and I succeeded (well, to an extent).

The inability to revive Denise and Millie is based on honest game play.

When using cheats, or modified game play you have an entirely new situation.

But lil weasel, how are chain game players such as yourself using "4star" mods any better?

The Chain Game isn't an Honest play. It is a modded entertainment as you said

The inability to revive Denise and Millie exists in the CG. It also isn't for the PS2/3.

I did other tests with the mission select codes. In summary, it's best not to use the mission select codes until completing the game. An example: I was at N.O.E. and skipped to Green Goo, but upon completing it, the red marker & blip on the radar vanished and the other airstrip missions were disabled. Same thing happened when I was at Architectural Espionage and skipped to (and completed) Breaking the Bank at Caligulas. The heist missions were disabled and because of that, the only way to get Millie as a girlfriend then would be the mission select codes.

First and foremost, I couldn't get the tables to function properly (despite reading Miros guide), hence the trashy layout. Therefore, I apologize, thus please refrain from griping about it, thanks.

Many coding discs are preloaded with completion codes for the Tags & Oysters; both of which can be activated at anytime, but none exist for the Horseshoes or Snapshots. Now thankfully, I discovered solution codes.

Note: codes not authored by me; codes converted by me, nonetheless.

I'm sorry the tables are utterly wretched. Constructive criticism on how to repair this would be much appreciated. Luckily, the codes work; that's all that really matters.

Get jet-pack (press R2 then down)

Get parachute (press R2 then left)

Get Rural outfit (Press L2 then right)

Destroy all cars (press R1 then left

Health, armor & cash boots (press L1 then down)

Grove is everywhere.

These codes will change the effects of the Yakuza cheat; the cheat that switches all peds (on foot and in traffic) with Triad members wielding Katanas. Instead of Triads, all peds (on foot and in traffic) will be Grove members carrying their own weapons. Sounds splendid, huh?

Instructions: Activate the code that matches your criteria, start the game, then press: X, X, Down, R2, L2, Circle, R1, Circle, Square.

El Corona garage is a hydraulics factory

Park any number of vehicles inside the El Corona safe house garage (the garage must close) and they'll be equipped with hydraulics.

For some reason, these codes won't convert to any version of Gameshark or Action Replay. When attempting the conversion, I receive errors such as: "Target device does not support bitwise operations (type 7)." and "Target device does not support pointer writes with more than one offset." and "Target device does not support the size specified by test command." No idea what any of that means; I'd appreciate it if someone could inform me.

Note: I didn't (and couldn't) test these codes, being that I don't have a Codebreaker or Xploder, but they should work.

Hydraulics-enabled is just setting a bit in the vehicle attributes. I'm not familiar with your code, but altering the bitpattern is possible in any cheat discs' original code.

Look at this thread, for example...which alters ArMAX's original everything-proof code in NTSCv2 to NOT include the other stuff (hydraulics & bass boost):

I somehow missed your reply; otherwise, I'd have responded sooner. First off, it's not "my" code. Converting a code to a different format hardly makes it mine. Anyway, I discovered condensed codes (quite a hassle), and I thought "pointer rights with more than one offset" was synonymous with condensing, but no because condensed codes convert fine with each code software. Clarification: These errors were arising from Omniconvert. I understand the bit-pattern aspect, just not the "type 7" part. I'm totally clueless about the third error.

Perhaps it would help to convert the referenced codes to the unencrypted format:
