cold fusion 33 1
Tjone: That's some nice looking work right there, I love that sort of theme in modeling . What do you model with by the way? Urban Legend: Thanks for the help, but it still won't work... To be honest, the problem is mainly down to my lack of knowledge for exporting models to VC .dff's, .col's and .txd's. If any one has a good Max tutorial, then I'll give it a go! Junox has been giving me a lot of well appreciated help on Msn, so hopefully, we'll be able to work it out in the end... It's gotta be some stupid mistake of mine . Cold Fusion

ParoXum 10
Bam: I doubt I'll do renders on those small pieces of road, renders eat my time. [email protected]: Nice low poly texturing, it's clean. Still training self :
cold fusion 33 1
That's some nice looking work right there ParoXum, it looks like a great road texture . I might have some work to show later, but Im not sure yet . I wanna get the damn thing into VC! Cold Fusion
Rawra 8
[email protected]: Nice texturing. It's very good considering it's all flat. Nice job! ParoXum: Sweet modelling and texturing. I like the detail in the cracked road and the dirt texture. Probably do a texture wipe with my model, after getting an ingame shot. Is that just a personal project?
cold fusion 33 1
I dont know if any SketchUp users can help me, but I have a model of a town in SU that is all in one piece in SU, no components or anything... But when I export it into Max, it turns the buildings into individual parts and so I cannt export the whole thing as a .DFF because it says only one hierachial link can be selected at once, meaning I'd ned to have to do the road layout and then the buildings separately. I know that would take a longer time, but I just want to have the whole town in one piece for the moment... I have tried "exploding" the model in SketchUp until it will explode no more, and then importing to 3ds again, but it still turns into different parts, which is infuriating... Please help me guys! Urban Legend 11
While your in the ''Export Model'' screen click Options from the bottom right. Next will come your 3ds export options for Geometry and your choices are -Full Hierarchy -By Material -By Layer -Single Object Along with some other things to mess with. good luck. Rawra 8
Decided to just 'jump in' and port it over to San Andreas. Besides the scaffolding, road, ladder and pipes not showing - any help here? - I think it looks okay. Prelighting obviously is needed, but I'm actually relieved to have gotten it in without a crash Edit: and no collision Edited June 8, 2009 by Rawra
cold fusion 33 1
Ok, got the model into 2 parts now, thanks Urban Legend . Rawra: That's some nice looking modeling there . I only wish I could still use SA .
_Rob_ 95
Why can't you use SA?
_Rob_ 95
Uh OK something random I'm trying to make good use of textures so i'm really taking my time, comments welcome Large Image So Here's A Link
cold fusion 33 1
Well, my SA disc cracked after I had un installed it from my PC, which has f*cked me up no end... But, oh well... Nice use of textures Rob . Is that an Admiral driving along the road?
Rawra 8
Nice texturing, like CF33 said. I like the dirty look to the roads. Nice job.
.:Rodrigo:. 0
Looks great ParoXum, nice textures. Painted from scratch? Rawra been following that scene since you posted it It looks great. I can't help in any SA related problem, as I never exported anything more than vehicles (succesfuly)
Rawra 8
Rodrigo: Thanks. Okay. I managed to include everything (scaffolding etc) but, even following ParoXum's prelighting tutorial and his prelite scene, I still can't get it lighted or NVC to show up God, I fail with modding SA hah Edit: Might just know why it wasn't working. If it works, I'll share xd Edit2: Okay, managed to get some awful(?) looking prelighting, I think. The setup from ParoXum's gave my model a purple tint from the purple box (Was I supposed to delete those? ) and there's a tint on the model window. ParoXum 10
Rawra: yeah you have to delete the boxes and spheres in the prelight scene. Those are there just to setup the shadows and light bounces Also if your collisions are not right. Use my video tutorial about how to export a map with MAP I/O's pipeline: How to export map models from 3Dsmax to the game in record time using MAP I/O Pipeline And also this one if you want to create LODs sometime: How to create a LOD model and its baked Texture Rodrigo: Yeah scratch material. Using photos. CF33: If you own the DVD why not download a torrent backup ? Edited June 9, 2009 by ParoXum
PlatinumSerb 437
Wow, first time posting in here in a REALLY long time. Don't wanna make this post too long with only one picture so I'll just get to the point... I started working on a project back in 05, even posted some pics in this topic a long time ago. However, overtime I lost time and interest, and only worked on the project when I was extremely bored. Well recently I decided to at least finish adding everything in game, and with the help of a tutorial that ParoXum posted about Kams Map IO, getting my models in game was a breeze.(Thank You, ParoXum!) For now I'll just post one picture, because this was the area I started adding vegetation to first... I'll add generic objects to the lots that you see in the distance soon, probably tomorrow and then I'll post pics. I also have a couple of other lots that I need to add in game. The picture isn't much, but it gives somewhat of an overview of the middle/lower area of the map. There is still more land in the distance which didn't seem to load in that picture as well as land with a road system to the right of the picture and some more land to the left. *** I got the Niko model from GTAGarage, its made by GTAdedan. The prelight settings are also the ones that ParoXum provided in the scene that he released. The trees are from San Andreas... everything else is made by me except the bike of course. *** Sorry about the pixelated tree branch, maybe eventually I'll make my own trees... 007 RoadRunner 1
A sort of Mexican/Western cantina i made to try out rendering styles. I actually like the model so much I might complete it. Pics: Do you guys like it?
Rawra 8
007 RoadRunner: Nice detail. I like the cracks in the walls and the overall texturing. Nice renders, too. bammargera: That looks really nice for low poly buildings. I like the texturing used; it looks realistic. Though, if this is for San Andreas, and for a mod, that's too much detail for little things such as bottles and pills(?). Better off making generic objects. From me: Seems prelighting has sort of worked, thank you ParoXum for the video. Though it's really bright at night time, I'll experiment around and try and sort it. - And the NVC are showing at day time
junox 6
rawra -yeh its amazing what prelighting does for the model .it really has brought your model it to life
