Lightmapping tests in old VC, anyone interested in mods like this?

waaat?

I was just thinking that, Jost_Vice. But I'm too ashamed to post the unlit road that went into VC.

Very discouraging for me when I dont know how to "pre-light" is that the word? Help me out. tounge.gif

ColdFusion: It looks good, I like the feel to it. But if you're expecting it to go into SA/IV, don't do that much with the render, as the i.g shot will look different and not as good ;P

I guess you're using 3dmax?

Topic: [REL|III-VC-SA] Prelight your map in one click

The only thing that will change in Kam's script options are just that you will need to click the 'VC' box (Vertex Colors) to export the prelight info (doesn't matter if its for VC)

Sketchup actually. But maybe I shouldn't front...and just continue on with my work. If later on we can

light everything like this? Thanks for providing the link. I'll keep that.

Seems like you are forced to use Blender, Gmax or 3dsmax to prelight? That would make like 6+

programs to properly get this right! tounge.gif (sketchup, zmodeler, collmaker, vicetxd, moo mapper)

Hard to see from that model, all textures are the same. Is it road metal barriers etc?

I thought 3dsMax can do all of that - models,imports,colmaking/dff making etc.

-

meh, as JV said not many are posting ig pics. Once I reinstall SA and finish the texturing of that work I was doing, I'll put it in game. - will be around a week and a tad though

There you can see 3 different textures; road, fence, and grass. That could have been done correctly the first time around, but I decided to fix it later. Guess I know now what needs to be done. Actually learn 3dsmax. I also think it can do everything, but not for sure. catspider.gif

I know what you're saying Jost and I understand, but I just started that render last night and thought what the hell and put all those extra render settings on to it, I wouldn't normally, but I did last night tounge.gif. I will try getting it in game some time soon though, I promise, although my last few attempts at getting things in game didn't turn out so well... Textures disappearing, even though they were .bmp's and had names under 7 characters and all had resolutions of 1024 x 1024, all it showed up as was a white model :s.... Oh well, will have to be more careful next time tounge.gif.

Urban Legend: Looking nice man smile.gif. Coolness at getting it ingame sleepy.gif .

Quick Question: Using the renderware engined GTA games, is it possible to have a building that you can walk straight into without using the marker outside of it, like you do in GTA? Or am I going to have to make a separate exterior for my model?

{

-Watch scale on ZIP building. The door looks almost two floors high.

-The texures look very low quality, and so take down the potential look to it all. Maybe get some better ones (cgtextures?).

-Scale of washing machine and those vents look quite big.

-Possibly '3D' it out a bit more, it will up the detail.

}

Keep going, nice to see you're still on it.

Edit:

Sorry atsike7 for being ignorant to your post - didn't realise.

The ramp looks a bit big when looking at that and the house, same with the railings. Perhaps a few different angled shots so better judgement can be made!

I like the look of your buildings txdeditor, very GTA style. Maybe fix some things like Rawra said, but its looking ok so far wink.gif

@atsike7: Wanna see that textured smile.gif

The house down there is just a little bar. That's why it looks so small.

Just some small things I've done for the SA:LC mod.. my first time mapping ever blush.gif.

The now double sided LC mountain done by me, and a little secret I put in at the north-east area of it in respect for odie, seeming as he loved mapping on Liberty back in the days of GTA3.

Incase you are wondering what the writing says on the stone, it is "R.I.P Odie, 1967-2005, Will be sorely missed by all the GTA Modding community, "I think about GTAIII: I was made for modding you baby" - Odie

Coin God : I love that. Your texturing is brilliant and the atmosphere is great in that render. Nice job

dingleman: Good to see that the mountain is actually complete now. The odie memorial is nice too
