It is indeed, but ModelingMan made his from scratch, and liek oh em jeez is, from what i see building from a top-down view image.

yes, I am making it frm scratch, using a top down view of the map as a reference. And it is the warehouse from THPS1, the map from THPS2 you're thinking about was the hangar, which was really just an extended version of this map, currently I am trying to create my own textures for the map. On the quarter pipes and stuff, I'm using screens from the game to make the textures, the problem is that it results in very low quality and because I don't have photoshop anymore, UV mapping those textures is killing me.

Yeah, but leik oh em jeez! should convert it to san andreas or vice city, because there are bikes avaible.

You can put the VC Sanchez in GTA III and take the handling from Vice City, but the sitting animation doesn't fit

EDITED PICTURES WITH UPDATED PROGRESS

 

Something I started about 30 minutes ago. It's based off a building I saw on a tutorial.

WIP still. The model is about 3/5 done and then I need to.....texture (sad.gif) it.

 

Still to add:

  • More pipes almost done
  • Props
  • Windows,doors (etc) almost done
  • more railings almost done
  • Plants(?)
  • more details almost done
+ anything else you (community) could think of?

Does anyone know any good websites which have any reference pictures of buildings? I have no ideas atm

Okay well I'm stopping that model due to no constructive critisism for 3 days o_O and because it sucked. (Also, when I attempted to texture it I just got turned off as it looked pathetic)

 

So I'm just working on another thing, a street scene. The model is WIP atm. Edit Number 2Edited picture with updated and improved model, added what will become a parking lot, added car storage thingymagigs and just tweaked and added a few unnoticable (from the angle) changes

There will be houses/flats on one side (different styles ofcourse-little repetition-) and on the other side there will be shops with 'houses' on top of them.

Also there will be misc objects too. I.E. bins, (+blackbags around?), cardboard boxes, signs,lamps etc.

Looks very very nice Rawra i really like your style. You shouldn't have given up on the previous model, it looked very nice and would look even better textured smile.gif

I'm actually happy I started afresh. A good reason I didn't like it was that I was basing it off a 3d model from just one picture and that I couldn't get everything exactly right. The textures also turned out awful, as I would expect

Okay.... I worked on it some more, but there's still some details to add etc. The big block of flats still needs a lot more windows/doors and details added to it.

I also done a quick 5 minute model of the other side, just to give it a bit more street feel. (o_O) Note - the opposite side's final models will likely look nothing like that in style and will resemble the housing style, as it is in London tounge.gif

@MegaCactus: the textures of the grass are weird from above. good for 1st person but for gta like, not that good :| looks good. i like detailed textures but for gta they don't work :|

I've been working on it some more and stressing my brain trying to think of other things to add.

I couldn't be arsed thinking of anything else/ I thought I didn't need a lot more needed, and so I just came up with this:

I added pylons(?),crates on the road,more windows,extra details and those stupid signs which say 20/30/w.e (K/)MPH

I'm pretty pleased with it and okay to call it the final model, as the main object with this was to just help myself improve my modelling and to think more of what to add in the future if/when I model more complex things. I will add a few extra details such as on the long,low building at the back - vents etc. But I don't think I'll post a render as the image I have shown is more or less the final outcome.

 

EDIT: Started texturing (look at new picture)

I have been working on textures a bit more and I'm okay with them, though some of you may not think they fit, if so tell me

The render sucks, I know tounge.gif, I can't do them properly and when I position the omni it will light one part nicely and the rest looks rubbish >_>

It has about 10000 polys so i need to detach it in parts if i want it in san andreas cuz i dont think san andreas will allow 10000polys on one object it just will crash suicidal.gif
