Mate I'd suggest making more than just 1 single block at a time then requesting it be put in game, If you make say.. 10 blocks then ask for them to all be put in game, you'll end up with a map much quicker.

Well working more on my organic roads, experinmenting with creating complicated mesehs, so I created a curve which slopes down, and as anyone who uses sketchup will know it's quite hard to get it right, anyway here are some screenies

Those textures are so clean, they all snap to each other perfectly.

Man, I don't have the patience for curves in SketchUp, that's why I'm trying to learn Max.

you may want to use some reference images and look at your models as "more than boxes" as well.

Really awesome Shadow, absolutely amazing, amazing, amazing work! So glad to see something great in IV tounge.gif. One question though, how are the vans drving on the road? Have you made progress on the collisions perhaps?

Thanks for positive feedback smile.gif we are still adding details to some of the buildings and they need a little garden tounge.gif

 

So far the only collisions I can create are boxes wink.gif so I created one big box underneath the road..

But I am making progress on the collisions.. small steps. Hope to give everyone some more info about this soon.

 

(Funny thing, a dutch newspaper contacted me about this TC, and they published an interview about it today. And now a lot of dutch news sites published storys about it. I even got contacted by two small tv studios!)

There is nothing special about it tounge.gif in fact they are all not so nice sketchup models... It' just that the newspapers have never seen a real dutch city in a game. (It's my own city).

 

@bam scan is coming, it's in dutch though..

the houses look great maybe change the colors a bit to make it more realisticly looking, and yeah a dutch city in GTA would look strange also its an whole different atmosphere compared to the normal gta settings.

 

 

Dont imitate, recreate or copy just get your own ideas. Simplicity makes difficulty easy

Looks pretty ok, prince. You badly need normalmapa/bumpmaps whatever it's called. Are those ingame pics of GtaIV? And uhh... ever thought about creating a tool for converting collisions to IV collision format?

Wow man the refernce images look very hard to work from, but the model itself looks like quite a nice mid poly layout

Very nice bam, i like how the roads have variety rather han perfect roads.

 

but the highway texture seems odd, look at top view pic, the repetitive dark spot is what im talking bout.
