-remove the blurring that occurs when going fast

 

- change the view so it is not always so low. IE you can fix the camera at a certian angle.

 

- more challenging missions.

 

-children and animals walking the streets. (flame away)

 

--this is a dream here.....but since modding is so difficult and only a few can do it....maybe develop more tools that would make modding easier for less programming-savvy people who dream of making new missions and the like. i dont think it could be too hard to compile all known tools into a modding workshop, where you can create missions. but again, i know nothing of real coding and programming.

 

-make the bmx able to grind along curbs and rails, ALA tony hawk

This may be on the hard side, but I've seen some more impossible things requsted here so I'll give it a go.

 

I was thinking you could be walking along the sidewalk, and a convertable would drive by and you would hear the music from the car. That would be the greatest. Or maybe an SUV (Huntley - the Land Rover knockoff) would drive by listening to RLS and you would hear just the bass. That would be crazy. Even better if when you walked close, you would have you controller vibrate on you.

 

That would be the best.

  • Passing-by cars with music. Will be rather a hack than a mod. But yeah would be fun, if you'd really bother with walking on foot in GTA wink.gif
  • Speedblur gives a lot, maybe hc (hardcoded) too.
  • More challenging missions, script 'em wink.gif
  • Children & Animals, we'll stay on R* policy here, so no bored.gif
  • Grinding curbs & walls, =hack imho, sorry, this is about script mods.

That would be the best.

It can be scripted but you would probably have to replace an existing audio file with just the bass of whatever you want to put in because all the wav references were hardcoded in gta 3 and vc so you couldn't add any.

I got a great idea for the Dozer... what it you transformed it into a snow plow or something. It would be fairly simple, all you would need to do is angle the plow at 45*... Maybe have it so that you could raise it up or down, and when you hold a key it would angle (twist, angle, turn... etc)

 

You cath what I mean? I'll make a lame drawing (top view).

Yeah possibly by ways of moving the dummies for the front of the dozer the same sort of way that scissor doors are possible in Vice.

-since theres a couple golf courses, there should definitly be a golf mini-game mod . i dont know how possible that is, but i hope it would be.

 

-and if not then, someone must be able to engineer at least a minigolf mode, cuz thats probly simpler to program

Hm just thought about it and you could easily turn a kitchen into a useful room. Just take some of those red corona things you see in front of vendors, and combine them with the drink/snack machine "press triangle " scipt.

 

If that didnt make sense, then just turn your refrigerator into a sprunk machine and your stove/table into a vendor.

@dasmico, cool idea, actually it gave me another one, "off-course" golfing: Try to plan and hit the ball as few as possible through a complete city or countryside! I'm sure many have seen that in commercials or joke movies. If a general hit simulation (buttonpressing and releasing on an exact point of the swing like in real golf games) can be deviced real tournaments could be held. Exchange your weapons for woods and irons, but the "driver" could be a pun tounge2.gif

so is it poossible to have a golf-ball as an object in the game, and then program it to fly at certain angles and bounce off the ground and trees semi-realistically ???

 

cuz i really would enjoy taking CJ out on the links at avispa.

 

could get somewhat complicated tho, you would have to makre sure no peds or golf carts drove around while you were hitting.

Confirmed: Scripted nitro boost works on everything that has an exhaust pipe (spelling ?), except boats and bikes. I put nos on a tractor. It didn't go any faster because nitro only boost the acceleration. You need to modify the max speed in the handling file to get realistic nos on vehicles that was never meant to support it. Still nice driving around in a tractor with nos though happy.gif (until you get so SICK ........ never mind tounge2.gif )

@Barton, I once had a modded car replaced by a cheating device, the fbi truck with nos looks fun smile.gif Did you try bikes too? Nos is rather a cosmetic device imho, real handling changes are made in the cfg files, as you said, and maybe there an exhaust pipe can be added to everything, thus NOS too, wouldn't it?

well, nos does really boost the acceleration. You get almost twice the acceleration (and it show with a speedo mod), but it doesn't alter the max speed so... It doesn't work with bikes, boats, bicycles, planes or helis because of the "different handling". Other car mods that adds objects to the cars requires the model to fit the car, like where on the car is the object to be placed, and I'm sure that info is stored in the dff (or similar).

Heres a few:

 

All land vehicles can go into transfender, but if they aren't the ones with any special mods, they can only have paintjobs (but the tractor can get hydraulics wow.gif )

 

'New Model Army' as a game you can bet on like the pool or lowrider dancing.

 

A new mission strand from the airstrip that all involve heavy combat. Example mission: Go aid some grove street gang members out at Easter Bay Chemicals who are fighting off ballas to get access to explosive chemicals. Ballas keep getting dropped in via cargobob helicopters and parachuting in.

Example mission 2: Enemy blimps are flying around bone country and red country. You have to shoot them all down in the rustler, while enemies (also in rustlers) try to shoot you down.

 

New special mods for all moddable cars:

Stinger strips

Bulletproofing

 

Mod shop for helicopters at verdant meadows, includes respraying and attatching a magnet.

Actually that gave me another idea: Look for two or more peds (like signing them up for your gang), make them near invincible, arm them, put your bet on one of them, and watch them battle it out. If your bet survives, you get your wage. Could get more sophisticated and twisted rampage_ani.gif

Heavy stuff, but for some WW2 enthusiasts quite a candy. Does anyone know if AI pilots are blinded by the sun?

-more options to do in trans fender like minigun on the top of your patriot or wheel with spikes on sides etc

confirmed: magnet can be attached to all the helis and any car can be lifted. hunter is the most powerful heli.

 

confirmed: any car can be used as a remote controlled car. rc goblin heli can have magnet. rc tank has machine gun that can be used to kill pedestrians.

 

confirmed: gamespeed can be set from 10% to about 300%.

Any dogfight mission where you're in a rustler would have to be against other rustlers, it stands no chance against hydras. I found that out the hard way cry.gif

I thought R* wern't going to release a SDK, am i wrong.

dont knwo.. most of the modding will be throug hthe many, many scripts that come wiht the game.. or just with people chaning textures...

Yehh but at the start of the post the guy wrote he wasn't talking about editing textures, he said he wanted new features, levels, Etc. Not much can be done with out a SDK, no models can be imported and im sure no levels/missions could be made.

im not sure, but I think alot of mission data and stuff is held i nthe scrips and I know people put new maps and evrything into Vice City... dont think GTA is a game that really needs a SDK... it is easy enough to edit...
