There's a difference between posting a stat like "TO had a 100-yard game, he should be MVP."

The 30-yard gain, or whatever it was, took them to around the 35-yard line. That's a 52-yard field goal, David Akres does have range, but you'd be suprised how much a man's range can decrease in a big game like the Superbowl

MVP? When did I ever say that? Are you converting to making up lies and putting words in people's mouths to make points now? It seems so because all you've done is contradict yourself and make yourself stupid so might as well make up sh*t to try and make yourself look even more stupid if that's possible.

How do you know if Akers would've made the field goal or not? Are you psychic? Please stick to your own little rules and stop making a fool of yourself. 30+ yard gains are gamebreakers whether your little head can comprehend that or not it's the truth.

If you can't see that, then you are a fool.

There's another that thinks you're a dumbass besides me.

after reading these posts i have come to the conclusion that you sir are an idiot

Oh look another person that thinks you're a dumbass. It keeps adding up doesn't it. I suggest giving up before they make a new forums label of "dumbass" just for you.

Keep talking to me like you think you can beat me in a battle of wits... over football, because that's one topic I can win in. It's funny.

Wow kid, if arguing about football is your best talent you must suck at life, seriously.

You're not even arguing football, you're arguing me. 9jkearse is an Eagles fan, I expected that much out of him. But everything he's said is something I've already proved wrong. How am I contradicting myself by saying Akres probably wouldn't kick a 52-yarder? I suppose since I made fun of you for being phsyic, you can do the same. It's a little different. It's a big game, the biggest game, the fans are loud, the kicker is on the spot. If he makes this his team will have the best chance at winning the Superbowl, the freakin Superbowl! That's pressure. Kickers aren't good with pressure, and 52 yards is a long fieldgoal. It would be a miss. Getting closer is the logical choice, and they tried that, and I forgot what happened on that drive like I said.

If you actually want to argue football, then do it. So far you've just tried to insult my intelligence, which coming from you... I'm not very insulted. I'm tired with you, you're boring.

Akers is like tied with the record for longest field goal of 63 yards. 52 yards is easily makable. I don't care about pressure. You don't know if he wouldv'e cracked under the pressure or not. So stfu about that.

Why are you trying to trash kickers when the past recent Super Bowls have had the kickers come through in the clutch? Weak point again kid.

Damn Dasutin at least try and make a decent post. I expected more, even from you. So you're tired already? Looks like you give up then... that's fine with me, I figured I got the best of you anyway. Maybe next time you will put a little more effort into your posts which you have so much pride in.

I'm tired with you, you're boring.

Yeah, losing does make you tired doesn't it? I'm actually feeling energitic... guess that's cause I'm winning.

No, actually Jason Elam and Tom Dempsey hold that record. Akres does have a very long field goal on his stat sheet, which is 57.

Utero, once again, you fail to actually argue football. When you want to argue about something relevant, please come back.

Yes, I already knew those two had the record, but I think one of the announcers said that Akers was tied with them (which surprised me). Nonetheless, a field goal was entirely possible because of TOs long catch and tackle breaking contributions. Therefore, you are still wrong about the whole TO thing. You lose.

Is It safe to enter this topic. This topic has been a battle ground here lately.

Anyway dosen't Tom Dempsey have one leg, or half a foot, or something of that nature?

Half a foot.

And no the announcers didn't say that Akres shared the record, they said he could make that in pre-game warm-ups. Which means nothing, they use different balls, and the pressure's off. Janikowski can make it from kick-off in practice, which is 70+ yards, but I highly doubt he'll be doing that in a game.

I said that kickers actually have been clutch in the Super Bowl in recent years which is football to my understanding... are you having trouble reading now? It's also hard to reply with a great post, which I would do, if you reply with dumb sh*t made of only opinions that kickers can't make the big field goal. How about you stop with your bullsh*t and dodgeball stories and give me something intelligent to respond back to. Like people have said before...

You lose.

This is my second: OGA 10 Word Game, NFL Discussion, What you listening to... The funny this is with kickers is that they can kick 70+ yards on the kickoff, like Dasutin mentioned, then how come they can't make field goals that long: maybe not on a tee, not standing back far enough or just damn lazy to try, lol...

It's the angle the little plastic thing holds the ball at, the fact in field goals it's held by a person, plus the extra amount of running room they get on a kick off.

Yeah, thats what I was saying(above)... Wouldn't that be funny if they made the field goal posts on the goal line, like in Canada and back in the 60's or what ever, again?

I think it'd be cool, plus you know someone stupid is bound to run right into it, and that would be great TV.

I think that's the reason it was moved back. It wouldn't be too hard to run it in on the 1-inch line when the defense can even fill in the gap because the goal post is there.

True, I still think it'd be funny to watch someone just slam right into it.

They could have won, if they had been smarter with clock mangment, and if McNabb played a smarter game.

Mcnabb didn't play that bad of a game, 3 TD's 350+ yards, but the 3 picks weren't very good. And it should have only been 2, but the last one, which finished McNabb's game, was a dropped pass. McNabb's only problem was that if he threw a bad pass, it was a really bad pass.

@ Kearse: Yeah, gotta agree there, you can't say TO didn't have a good game, 122 yards in 9 catches, by a guy who broke his leg 7 weeks earlier. He was more mobile then most of them. -MDG

I thought McNabb would have played a little better. You can't drive down the field and, then turn the ball over. In the first quater McNabb drove down the field and then throws a INT inside the redzone. 2 drives later McNabb drives and then fumbles it in the redzone. Philly had thier chances to win the game.
