Steelers will probably win against the Jets. While not suprising, an agreeable thumping by the Steelers is not likely.

The Colts should win. No reason not to.

Anyone picking the Rams over Falcons is a FOOL. Vick and the Falcons win in good fashion.

Minnesota beats Philly. T.O is a psychological and strategic loss to the team.

As good as Pit is, they aren't as amazing as everyone gives them credit to be.

Finally something inteligent is said in this thread

and why the hell is every picking the vikings over the eagles. There is a reason the Vikings were 8-8. they were inconsistant, they havnt been able to put up back to back games were they executed the same. if they had then they would have a better record. so by picking the Vikings are you all saying the vikings are actually good(which they clearly are not) or the eagles are bad. if its the latter then i give up w/ you guys. oh well i guess we will see on sunday.

First, I disagree with the Pit theory, but moreover I am boggled on why you used the cookie where you do. Hmmm...

But I do agree that the Eagles are more than T.O., and that they will pull a win out.

Minnesota is this year's Panthers. You never know when they'll pull out a win.

As for the whole 8-8 thing. I don't know about the Vikes, but the Rams could have very easily been 10-6 entering the playoffs, had Bulger stayed healthy and played the way he did the last three weeks.

Nuj, the Vikings could have had a way better record if their defenses would have held in late game situations. Namely both Packers games, the Eagles game, one of the Bears games, one of the Lions games, Washington game, and Seattle game. sigh.gif

Their offense is amazing though, so they always have a chance to win, no matter what. And if they play like they did last week, I don't see the Eagles being too much of a problem.

....and get your ass over to the MLB thread. We starting early this year. biggrin.gif

Everyone is taking the Rams, lol. f*ck yes, my boys are going to go to the Georgia Dome and roast some Vick on a stick.

Rams over Falcons. Falcons are 7 point favorites. They're not going to win the game, let alone cover the spread.

Minnesota over Eagles. The biggest point differential, -10, goes to Philly in here. If they do win, it'll be by a field goal or even less.

The AFC I never know too much about, but here is what is going to go down.

Pats vs. Colts - Colts, because no matter what we discuss, the Colts WR core vs. the Pats secondary > Corey Dillion vs. the Colt's defense. I don't know the spread, but I'm going Colts by at LEAST 14.

Steelers vs. NYJ - Pitt. I'm a Roethlisberger fan since he was at Miami, OH. Not to mention J-Bettis, and their holy hell defense. Pitt by 7.

For the rams thats cause they got more heart than anyone they are playing as one and in the playoffs they are elite GO THE RAMS.

The Vikings are the only team to pass for over 300 yards against the eagles, and they still lost. hell the vikings didnt score a touchdown until late in the 4th quarter.Fact of the matter is the Vikings can do what ever they like on offense but the Eagles D will keep them out of the endzone. In conclusion i dont see the Vikings offense as a threat at least not if the defense can play as good or better then the first meeting

The Packers are finished....I think Favre will retire because I think he knows his time to get another Super Bowl has come and gone, Especially with that horrid defense.

thats right Farve knows he has only 1 year in him so maybe youll see the best off him next year and maybe you wont see him at all.

Farve is still a great quarterback, despite what anyone says. I dont care if he's 56890257 years old, he's a damn good quarterback, and still one of the top QB's in the NFL. I hope he stays a few more yeards before he completely retires...

Jets over steelers - just becasue i hate pittsburg so much

Falcons over Rams - i just can't see St louis stopping Vick on the ground

Pats over Colts - it's gonna be f*cking tough without ty law, but it's in Foxboro, and if you've ever seen new england fans (especially ones from boston) you'd understand how much home field for the pats helps

Eagles over Vikings - Randy Moss, meet Brian Dawkins wink.gif

Ok....

Steelers over Jets. Why? Ben Roethlisberger is a rookie on a mission. He hasn't lost a game in two years, and he's not gonna start now. Steelers have already faced the Jets, and the Jets were a much better team at the time. This time around should'n't be any different than the first go.

Rams over Falcons. Why? Mike Martz learned how to run the ball! The Rams could easily tear apart that young Falcons secondary, but why risk an interception, which Marc Bulger is suseptible to doing so at times, when you have Steven Jackson and Marshall Faulk? These two guys are going to run wild.

Colts over Patriots. Why? Only reason Colts lost the first match-up was those turnovers inside the redzone. Since that game, the Colts now lead the league in turnover differential with +19. Peyton's only thrown 10 interceptions to his 49 touchdowns (almost a 5:1 ratio), and Edge has lost two fumbles, both in that Patriots game. Colts have also forced 35 turnovers on defense, that's a stat you didn't expect to hear isn't it...? "But the Colts are ranked 29th in total defense... blah, blah, blah.. I'm stupid." Total defense don't mean jack, it's just how many yards you allow per game. Here's a new way for you to look at defense. The Colts give up 21 points a game to their 31. They're obviously doing something right on defense. "But Peyton Manning sucks in the cold." First of all, all dome team also have an outdoor practice field, second... eat this, outdoors Peyton Manning has a 112.7 QB rating, 65.2 completion percentage, 17 touchdowns, and 4 INTs. "OK, well... Peyton sucks in big games." What do you call last week's game against the Broncos, douche? Was that not a big game? Did the Broncos not beat them the week before and talk trash thoughout the entire week leading up to the game? There was a lot riding on that game, that was a big game. There was another big game for Peyton this season, the Chargers game. That game locked up the #3 seed position, and guaranteed the Colts a game in New England, which they wanted. Big game, Peyton didn't choke, no he didn't. Instead, he made a miraculous comeback from a 17-point deficit to win the game in overtime. Colts are going to win this game, and yes, I realize I just had an arguement with myself.

Vikings over Eagles. Why? Eagles haven't played a meaningful game since TO was out. They ended the season in a two-game winning streak with poor shows by their second team, and a very poor showing by the wide recievers, which is very important. Now the Eagles have had a couple weeks to think of their um, poor showy-ness, and the Vikings have done nothing except for beat Green Bay in Lambeau, in the cold. One of those things Daunte Culpepper isn't supposed to be able to do. So what happens this week? Randy Moss wipes his ass on Brian Dawkin's goalpost, that's what happens. That sounded dirty. Oh, by the way, Randy Moss plays on the opposite side of BDawk, so if anything he'll be meeting up with Lito Sheppard (he's getting abused) and Michael Lewis (he's getting burned).

I like to give reasoning behind my completely unscientific biased opinions of football.

To see them both in the Supre Bowl? Let me be nice. The Pats and the Colts are both in the AFC, the Super Bowl features a team from the NFC and a team from the AFC, so it won't happen. Maybe in the Confrence Championship, but not the Super Bowl.

AHAHAHAHA I knew Ben would choke. Now, to see if the jets can hold on.  that_guy2057_evilgrin.gif

If the Jets win, it would be one of the biggest upsets in NFL playoff history. Well, the Rams @ Falcons game will kick-off in another hour. cool.gif

I bet many people are going to think the Steelers/Jets game was a very close one, but I don't think it was. The Steelers' defense really did dominate the Jets offense allowing only a field goal... if it wasn't for the Jets' punt and interception returns for TDs this game wouldn't have been even close. Also, Ben had another horrible game against the Jets and still ended up winning, imagine when the Steelers' defense is up to par and Ben is playing decent...

No, it was a close game, Infact, I think the Jets were up at one time... yes, yes they were. Doesn't matter who scores, as long as you score.

Yes. It doesnt matter who scores or how you score. Offense isn't everything. I think it is very stupid for you to say that it wasnt a close game because the Jets should have won twice. If it weren't for Doug Brien we wouldnt even be having this discussion right now.
