I find the blocking useless if you control the fullback. I mean, I can never even hit a linebacker.

But it's awesome as a guard or a tackle on short yardage situations that will most likely guarantee you 3 yards 100%. Being the center on quarterback sneaks also helps.

I got the updated rosters but nothing was changed. I guess they will wait till the official rosters are up.

My new PS2 version is bug-free.

Is this blocking feature difficult? I just imagine it to be difficult. Also, so you are the line man and the other offensive players continue to run the play normally? I need to get this game but today I was to tired to go any where.

They run the play just like the computer would but you have the ability to play as a blocker. Too bad it shows when you are a blocker online. That doesnt go well sometimes and they send the house.

I think it's really classy that the Jets offered Curtis Martin a salary instead of just dropping him without pay because of his injury. They didn't have to give him anything, but they took the high road. Props to the NYJ front office.

So, let's take bets: which QB re-injures himself first? And how soon into the season?

Daunte Culpepper, Drew Brees, Carson Palmer

And do you think any of them will last the season and be successful?

I think Culpepper has a great chance to succeed in Miami. They have the weapons and the defense to win games, they've just been missing a QB for years- basically since Marino retired. Brees in NO has possibilities, but it will be interesting to see since they are implementing a brand new system with a new QB and a new rookie RB, run by a new coach. Lots of question marks there, but who knows. Carson Palmer is the front runner for comeback QB of the year because his team is already built. He's ready to go. I just always cringe whenever I see someone get hit who has torn their ACL. I keep thinking that will be the moment, right then they're going to rip it again. It makes me nervous.

I would guess Culpepper has the biggest chance of injuring himself because he's been hurt before. I also don't know about that O-line in Miami, and if they'll be able to protect him.

Not as much as I cringe everytime I see Willis McGahee get hit low.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSySFNv9xNE

^thats the reason.

Its amazing he ever set foot on a football field after that injury. And after Doctors telling him hell never play again and that he shouldnt play ever again.

also I think Carson will be very durable this year along with Brees but Culpepper will struggle with an inconsistent receiving core.

I started me a Superstar Hall Of Famer thing. It's pretty cool how you work out and stuff to impress the scouts. Only bad thing is I got drafted by the damn Vikings. It's hard as hell becasue the camera angle is like you are actually playing. I'm a RE and It's hard to get off blocks and get the ball carrier. I need alot more speed.

To be honest, Superstar mode annoys me a bit. The camera angle makes it almost impossible to intercept balls as a DB. It's also very hard to make receptions as a RB.

Plus there's no way to skip or even fast forward the offensive play if you're a d-player and vice versa.

Yeah i'm already sick of superstar mode. I created a linebacker and every time my dumbass secondary would give up a catch i would lose those points or whatever and it pissed me off. You should only lose points if you f*ck up.

I created a Halfback, and did superstar mode. I got drafted by the Browns. sad.gif

Carson Palmer will be injured again. Culpepper is also pretty prone. I think Brees, despite how serious his injury was, will finish the season.

Injury Prone is nothing but a rating in Madden. None of them will be re-injured. Both Culpepper, Brees, and even Chad Pennington, look to be fully healed thus far. Carson Palmer is playing it safe and slowly getting back into football. He was cleared weeks ago, but told the coach he didn't feel he was ready. That's smart, that'll keep him healthy. It wouldn't be so bad if he missed the first month of the season, anyway. Rudi Johnson is good enough to carry that team to a few victories if Carson can't play.

Hahaha, Junior Seau was cut by the Patriots. Damn this is great.

Patriots Cut Junior Seau For Salary Cap Reasons

FOXBORO, MA -- Just days after luring linebacker Junior Seau out of retirement to join the team, the New England Patriots cut him in order to clear his salary off the books. Seau, who was scheduled to make $1.2 million this season, was informed of his dismissal Monday morning.

"Well that's life in the NFL I guess," he told Boston's WEEI sports radio on Monday night. "One day you're here and the next day you're gone. I can't complain too much, though. I had a nice stint with the Patriots and made a lot of good friends these past three days. The one thing I can't figure out is why they would sign me to a deal and then cut me three days later. I guess after all these years I still don't fully understand the economic system in the NFL. All I know is I'm not getting a penny and I somehow owe the Patriots $500,000."

Last week, Seau received and enthusiastic call from Belichick, who convinced him that the team needed his leadership and wanted to give him an opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl ring. On Monday, he was cut without so much as a word from Belichick.

"I'm a little surprised Bill didn't at least call me into his office and apologize," said Seau. "I just got to my locker and there was a piece of masking tape over my name with the word 'Cut' written on it. Then the equipment manager -- actually, the assistant equipment manager -- came over and told me to clean out my locker. I said my goodbyes to the players, none of whom looked even remotely surprised, and that was that. I actually left my wallet in there, but they wouldn't let me back in."

The quick release of Seau was a surprise move by the Patriots because of their lack of depth at the linebacker position. His departure, combined with Tedy Bruschi's wrist injury, further depletes an already thin unit.

When questioned about the move after practice, Belichick was his usual elusive self.

"This is all part of running an NFL team. You look at your roster, you decide what your priorities are, and you make decisions based on that," he said. "Junior is a great player, a hall of famer, and he was a big part of our team while he was here. And that's all I've got to say right now, unless someone has a softball question that you probably don't even care to know the answer to. No? Okay."

Now that Seau is jobless again, he'll be forced to retire again. Just last week he announced his retirement from football for the first time, and attended a lavish, emotional ceremony held by his old team, the San Diego Chargers.

"A lot of people thought it was stupid of me to sign with the Patriots three days after I announced my retirement," Seau said. "But I saw an opportunity and I went for it. I got a chance to play under one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game. I ran some wind sprints. I did some up-downs. I attended a meeting. It was sort of like being with the Chargers, except everybody seemed to know what they were doing."

Today, Seau once again held a press conference to formerly announce his retirement.

"I stand here before you a proud man, a humble man, a man who has been blessed by God with the ability to play in the National Football League," he told reporters. "This? This is not a 'retirement' for me. This is a graduation. I am going on to the next phase of my life. Football may be over, but I'm not going to rest on my laurels. No way. My laurels shall not be rested on. I...oops, hold on a second. I got a text message. Damn thing. Let's see here. Hey, it's Bill Belichick. He wants me back. Yes! What an amazing opportunity! Sorry, gotta go."

I Love Anna Kournikova

Wow, the raiders beat the lions 21-0.

Brooks to Moss on a 60 yard TD reception

Brooks to Moss on a 25 yard TD reception

LaMont Jordan on a 15 yard TD run.

Not too bad.

Aaron Brooks though he is kind of inconsistent I think he is an improvment for any team. In Oakland he has Randy Moss and Jerry Porter and Doug Gabriel so I think he can do well there, plus he also has another pretty good back in Lamont Jordan. If it was't for the Broncos I think Oakland would have a good chance of winning their division.

Carson Palmer looks as good as ever in his first preseason game. I think all the injured quaterbacks will have bounce-back years, even Chad, who I thought had a dead arm.

Yeah Carson has looked great tonight. I actually was hoping that he wouldn't risk his career and that he wouldn't rush back into playing games, but I'm happy for him. Hopefully he can stay injury free...

Also, Houshmandzada (sure I spelled that wrong) has been dirty tonight. Could he take over for Chad Johnson as Palmer's go-to receiver?

Nah. He's just a good compliment. He doesn't see double-teams. He could emerge as the next Reggie Wayne, a number two who defenses look at as a number one, but for now, I just think he benifits from Chad seeing double and triple teams constantly.

I read an article on Yahoo! Sports, and the question in that article was, Is Charles Woodson an average cornerback who is succeeding and getting a large contract just off reputation?

He's definitely overrated, I'd say.

Best in the league: Champ Bailey.

Woodson was a great corner, physical as hell, quick and could lay the smackdown. Was is the key word here. His sh*tty work ethic and injuries (didnt finish a season since 2001) kept him from turning trully great.

You better believe it, I still think we got the better end of the deal with that trade. 'Cause we can turn TBell into 1,500yd rusher just like CPortis.

DeAngelo Hall is the best corner in the league.

Yeah okay! - Sarcasm

That's like saying Eli is better than Manning and with the years of experince its not even funny...

There are a number of players in the NFL that can be considered the best corner in the league, Chris McAlister, Sean Taylor, Champ Bailey, Ty Law, DeAngelo Hall, but out of those players I would say that the best corner is Bailey.
