@GTA-Player - I doubt its four years, Name a good RB that only lasted 4 years? You can't

It's not about how good they are, he's just telling you the average length of an NFL running back. It's actually less, about 2-3 years. Priest Holmes has played a very long time, and has had several serious injuries. He's outlasted the average career length by six years, so he's obviously nearing the end of his career.

To answer your question, Terrell Davis was injured after his fourth year, and his career was pretty much over after that. He played three more years, but was never the same after that injury.

I do...I run on everyone with tatum bell if you get th enew rosters and set the starters right they are an 89 overall

No kidding dude, I play with the Broncos(of course) on Madden and reorder with chart of Bailey at PR/KR and Bell over Anderson... Bell can get me 200+ but for some reason I hardly run with him, lol or run for that fact... The Broncos overall on madden 06 for the 360 is like a 79, and their offense and defence are high 80s but why overall so low? f*ckers... Hopefully you can put any player anywhere, Bailey and receiver f*ck yeah, Ian gold at Fullback... Done deal bud

Anyways, i doubt you can give out an early mvp to anyone, because you never know how year to year changes...

but thats no fun because it takes the realism out of the game but yes i do start tatum bell also man try mike anderson at fullback...hes better than kyle johnson and blocks better...beat 378 yards on some guy online thats how much i rushed for with one player (TATUM BELL) champ bailey is my KR but not my PR i keep DW back there...if you re-order the depth charts on ps2 by pressing circle everything is updated for that team and the broncos are an 89 overall trust me...

also its 4 years because most become free agents and never get re-signed so they retire...so many rbs in the NFL its out of control we need more tall DBs instead every tall guy picks WR...i play both sides of the ball at WR and DB (CB and FS)

Dude, Terrel Davis owns pretty much all of the Playoff rushing records... Mike shanahan wasn't for records, because if you add up the times he sat TD, it added up to 2-3 more games... One game against the Cowboys, he had 240 yards and 3 touchdowns; by halftime... Of course he would've had over 300 yards... TD had 2,000 yards in one season and clearly was on his way to get 2,500 if Shanahan didn't sit him for half of many games; because we were killing them... You can't say anything bad about TD what he did on the field... Earl Campbell and Eric Dickerson had more rushing yards than he did in his first four seasons(which only was a difference of like 500 yards)... He did have the more TDs in his first four years than any other RB that is in the HoF... Even though he was injured, he did play for 7 seasons but four season of actually being the starter, three of which where in his injured season... Other than that, TD is among the elite rrunning backs of that era... Enough said, you can't say anyting bad about TD...

No, he could be a Hall of Famer if the voters' would pull their heads out of their asses. I was saying that he only lasted four years before getting injured and causing his career to be cut short. He played a little longer, but sparingly.

I can't name a great running back to only be in the league 4 years, because those players stay in the league because they get large salaries. Its those other players, you know the ones that get drafted in the rounds after the 1st round that usually retire earlier then these guys. I thought about this and the only player who I could think of think was close to retiring after 4 years was Robert Smith of the VIkings, he retired after 7 seasons, when he undoubtably had much more left in his career. He didn't want to play anymore, or you could say TD, he retired after 7 season because of injuries. I'm not saying every Running back lasts only 4 years in the league, but that is the average.

injury is part of the game, and being able to overcome injuries is also part of the game. you judge the man by his stats, not by "what if's...?" and fact is that he had 4 great years out of 7. many players have good years and long good careers, but dont get elected. 4 good seasons and rings dont deserve to be in HoF, even if he had all the talent in the world but cut short b/c of injury. its football, men get injured. it is unfortunate that he couldnt play any longer, but you dont judge players on what he could have been.

No.

I hate the Hall of Fame voters.

If Joe Namath and Archie Manning get in, then a Superbowl and League MVP, and a 2000 yard rusher should be in.

Also, I found a guy that played less than four years that was considered good.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Sinkwich

Only played two years, was the NFL MVP in 1944, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame after just two years. Strange. You have to put an asterisk next to his name if you're not going to let in TD because he only played 3 times as long as this guy.

In our league, will I be drafting 4th?

I found this site that lets you do mock drafts. It's live, every ten minutes, with real people drafting. You pick your position in the mock so you can see what's available when you really draft.

Ahmad Brooks taken in the 3rd round of the supplemental draft by the Bengals. This guy was predicted to be a top 15 pick, anybody see him having a good NFL future? He has lost like 40 pounds and is back in shape.

you cannot compare players from yesteryears to the players of today. today's players are much better, and there are a hell of a lot more players that are eligiable for selection every year. if you put in every QB that has the same stats as Manning or Namath, then the HOF will be packed with QBs in 20 years. HOF honors not stats but the best players of their time, which Namath and Manning were. TD could have been, but isnt.

oh and there is no Frank Sinkwich in the NFL HOF, at least not for pro players. perhaps he's in as a college player or something else.....just did a search on the HOF site, he's listed on the site but the site said that no one from his draft year is in the HOF.

HOF site

you should never rely on wikpedia for information

What do you lot think about my team, the Colts?

I'm not as optimistic as I have been the last few years. I still think we will win the AFC-South, but that's not saying much because it's a pretty poor division. With the lack of a solid running back at the moment and age coming into factor for a lot of our players, I'm a bit worried about what will happen when and if we reach the playoffs. I would tell the heart-wrenching story of how I cried in the rca dome when we lost to Pittsburgh, but I'd probably start crying again so I won't. confused.gif

Yeah, I'm a colts fan.

I nearly cried when Roethlisberger(sp?) tackled Nick Harper, I always wonder what would happen is Bob Sanders got the ball. Then Vanderjadt missed the fieldgoal, at that point my eyes were tearing. I hope Addai can fill in Edge's shoes.

I got the same problem as TM.

Dominic Rhodes is in since Edge left. Yes, he will be a step down from Edge, but you all have to remember in Rhodes' rookie season he ran for 1,000+ yards, so don't think he's a crap player. That was in his rookie year as well, and now he's spent a few years running behind James and learning so he will be better. He will do good so don't worry about it.

the colts are an overrated team in a crap division which they win almost every year and then choke in the playoffs. They have the best qb in the league who can't win a game for his life when his team needs him to, he is a bust in the playoffs.

Thats what I think! and I don't care what you say cause i'm right (just kidding) but seriously they'll win the division again this year and go to the playoffs but will lose again...

Indeed, well last year I don't think it helped us at all that our last three or four games were throw-away games, since we had already clinched all we could.

Anyway, I feel better now, so I'll tell you lot the story of me in the RCA Dome against the steelers.

We had started the game poor, but because of our talent I wasn't too worried. And behold, we did come back a bit. But then the Steelers had the ball on our 7yd line with us down three, with a minute or so left, I knew they were going to just run out the clock and we'd lose. So then I felt like crying, and I was like "I don't want to all these people to see me crying, they'll think i'm a puss!" So I leave my seat and head for the exit, stopping to take a piss in the restroom. It's dead silent, then all of a sudden right when I'm pissing I hear this loud "ROAR" that can't be matched by any noise I've ever heard in my life. I zip up and start sprinting back to my seat, to see we have the ball! I'm overjoyed, crying of happyness now. We go a bit down the field, and it's time for mike (aka idiot kicker) to nail us this fieldgoal to send it to OT. I'm thinking "he's one of the best ever, great in the clutch, he'll knock this down for sure!"...the ball is snapped, good placement, mike kicks it, it's going, going, going, WIDER RIGHT THAN I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Piss, I was so pissed off then.

Then when I was walking back to my car which was quite a few blocks away, I'm walking in what seems like this huge funeral group, I mean there were hundreds of people walking this way, but not a sound. Everyone just sad with their heads down and no noises...damn. sad.gif

And now you got him... HA!

The Colts' running game will not take a hit, the passing game will. Defenses will play even harder against the pass this year than last with the loss of Edge. Addai and Rhodes will have to prove early on that they're a serious running threat, or the Colts will be facing soft zone coverages all year long, leaving only the short underneath pass open. With the Colts' recievers notorious for sliding to avoid a hit, that's a very bad thing for them. I have confidence in Addai, though. He's a great reciever and pass blocker, runs with great power (something most analysts overlooked), and is faster than Edge. He's not as agile as Edge, but not many are. Still, he'll provide the electrifying running game that the Colts were lacking. I would never worry about what the Colts' front office does, and especially not worry about any offense they draft in the first round. Since Bill Polian has arrived in '98, they haven't missed, but have year after year, "experts" grade their drafts as one of the worst.
