which division do you think will be the best this year? i would have said the AFC East but with the problems the Dolphins are having, the Bills doing crap and the fact that no one wants to admitt the Jets are any good, i cant say that they will be the best this year. It has to be the AFC South with the Jags, Colts and Titans. the whole NFC looks like the old NFC West where one team will dominate for years and years (49ers). Every division in the NFC will have 1 strong team followed by a .500 wildcard team. The biggest surprise isnt one team its the whole NFC North where the its the Lions at #1 followed by Da' Bears, Pack and Vikings

 

ps - due to PF stats, the Jets are ranked higher than the Pats

i dont see too many interesting games. just the Pack vs. Colts and the Bucs vs. Raiders. and that last game wont be interesting on the field, just that Sapp will be playing the Bucs for the first time. also have the 2-0 Lions vs. the 2-0 Eagles. and perhaps the Jags vs. Titans will be good.

Chuck, do you mean best skill wise, or the most competitive division.

 

AFC South I would have to say for the best skill division. The Texans ain't great, but as you said, Colts, Jags, and Titans all have pretty good teams this year.

 

Most competitive I would have to say NFC North. The Vikings are the best team in then division, but not by much. The division will be sort of scrunched. No 13-3 winner, no 3-13 loser.

NFC North will be btwn the Vikings and Pack as usual, i'm still not ready to say the Bears or Lions will make any attempt at winning the division

I don't think they have very much of a shot at winning the division, I just meant that there is no stand-out best team, or stand-out worst team. They will be very competitive. The best team might be 12-4 at best, probably 11-5. The worst team might still be 5-11, or better. It will be pretty competitive. But yeah, I think it will be:

 

Vikings

Packers

Bears

Lions

P. Manning and the Colts first drive 5/6 66yds, 1td. with the packers having a slim secondary, Manning might have a career day if the D cant find an answer for their secondary.

 

EDIT - seems like they found an answer for their D.....Favre going nuts on offense.

Dick Vermeil is a PISS POOR coach who couldn't have success with a goddamned Highschool football team. Go check his carreer record. HE HASN'T EVEN BROKEN EVEN WITH WINS/LOSSES. The Rams only won the Superbowl under him because of a probably piss poor Tennessee team. His comments to Larry Johnson were so f*cking boneheaded I'd expect them from a racist white coach in reference to his only black player. Vermeil and the entire coaching staff of KC must leave. NOW. Kansas City isn't going to win a single GAME THIS YEAR and if given the ability to, I'd bet a $1000 and I would win too. Kansas City needs to focus out on ending the year and scouting Colleges for prospects and looking for replacements for Trent Green, Tony Gonzalez, Priest Holmes, and defense because I guarantee only about 20 players currently on the roster will remain in the 2005 team.

its not the coaches, KC brought in a new Defensive coach to try and turn around their horrible D but still there is no change. shows that the problems are not the coaches but the lack of skill the players have.

Well, Dallas just about ended the 'skins hopes of winning, they just scored, and made it 21-10.

 

I wanted the skins to win as well. They still have a chance, but I don't think they will get there. 13:00 to go, maybe a chance.

 

Edit: well, what a finish, Skins got down to the Cowboys 21 with 13 seconds left, but they didn't have any timeouts, so they couldn't get the field goal, final score, 18-21. -MDG

human error on part of the refs is part of the game, its part of any sport.

Well, after another week of football for my team, it gets worse.

 

We have now lost Ricky Didley and Charlie Garner for the season, and we are 0-3, we can only lose maybe 4 games to make the wild card maybe, and well, yeah. This is going to suck for the bucs.

Geez, I should really stop whinging about my team.

 

Ok, just my two cents. I read that thing about the San Diego Chargers. That really sucks.

 

Edit: @ GTA3R: Injury report for Deuce McAllister: By the date of the story, it was 10 days ago, but it doesn't say anything about him being out for 2 weeks. He didn't play against the Rams though. It says here he went down in his thrid attempt, fumbled, and that finished him for the day. It sounds pretty serious, because it read that he stayed down for a little while before he limped off. His leg got wrapped in ice, and got put on a cart trip to the locker room, and it says here X-rays were negative. It was apparently a sprained ankle.

 

 

NEW ORLEANS (Sept. 19, 2004) -- New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister was knocked out of his team's game against the San Francisco 49ers with a sprained right ankle and was not expected to return.

 

On McAllister's third carry, he was tackled by Bryant Young and fumbled. He stayed on the Superdome turf for some time after the 49ers recovered the ball.

 

McAllister walked off the field. On the sideline, a trainer wrapped his leg in ice before loading him onto a cart for the trip to the locker room. X-rays were negative.

You didn't watch the Chiefs/Texans game did you? That call on the Skin last nite was bullsh*t, but the officials at the KC game redefined sh*t refs.

 

Actually, I did see it, but I actually had a bet going on this game, so I cared more. This whole season, the refs have sucked at the passing game. So many bullsh*t calls, some for the defense, some for the offense. I'm getting pissed off at it a lot......They are consistent, but consistently bullsh*t calls.

 

I hope Bennett is able to play after this bye for the Vikings. He will add even more to their high powered offense.
