Peyton can mange the offense with Harrison,Stokley,Clark, and Wayne. Sure they wont score as much points but thier defense is improving and the important thing is that the colts score enough to win games. Heck they score like 35 points a game so Edge not being there will bring them down to about 28 points. Thats still enough to win most games.

Probably go for a o-linemen in the first round because there is so many great o-linemen in this draft and by the time they get there 2nd pick in the 2nd round, they'll be all gone. So the most they can get out of a RB is most likely Reggie Calhoun or Joseph Addadi(sp) from Winscosin and LSU.

The Colts should go after Reggie Calhoun. Calhoun is decent and Wisconsin has a nack for producing good runningbacks in the NFL. Ahman Green, Ron Dayne.

 

What gets me is why don't the colts trade with someone and get up a couple spots maybe?

Well, seeing that Robert Mathis is a backup to Freeney, he might want to start in the future. So I say before he causes any trouble, they should trade him to try to get a back like Morency or White, which would be top 15 for sure. But is Mathis worth a top 15 pick?

To me Mathis is a Top 15 pick but the Colts will never get him.

Maybe you mean they'll never get the top 15 pick? Pending on what they offer, it could be possible. Robert Mathis is a good end and would be a solid starter, just depends where he would go if he was traded. But I seriously doubt the Colts will trade to get a top 15 pick, they'll probably stick with Rhodes/Mungro combo.

The problem with the Colts is that Peyton always gets nervous and shuts down mentally in the playoffs. If he didn't, the Colts would have won the Super Bowl, but they didn't. The Steelers got Peyton into jumping around and being a bit off, and then he ended up getting sacked and knocked over. His non-stop audible parade didn't help his line either.

I beg to differ, 360 rushing attempts, 1506 yards and 13 TDs(Edge James)... Not revolving around a great back? I'm just questionable if Rhodes can carry the load of that, because they do need to run to pass.

The offensive line was fine all year sitting in their stance 30 seconds. That's a dumb point to bring up. Infact, Peyton and his line practice alone, just one sitting in their stance. They play loud music and "crowd noise" in the background as Peyton audibles.

 

You guys have it all wrong. Peyton didn't lose that game, he brought the Colts back, and he put them in position to tie. The Steelers made the mistake of backing off, and blitzing less... which is what was the cause of the protection problems. Peyton took advantage of this, and took just a few plays to get in field goal range. In that game, the defense basically gave up and refused to stop the run. Props to Brackett and Harper for getting the fumble, but they should've stopped them 10 minutes earlier when they first got the ball. The Steelers didn't call one pass play on that drive... you'd think they would've caught on. So we have the offensive line not providing Peyton with time, recievers running the wrong routes, the defense playing like pop warner, and a kicker being wide right by 20 fricken yards... yet Peyton is to blame? Get real...

They were scared... they decided to take their chances with Edge, and hope Peyton doesn't burn them. He still did... highest QB rating in the league, 3,700 yards, and 28 touchdowns in basically 14 games.

I'm still thinking of what would have happened if Ben wasn't there to stop harper, I can't imagine what would have happened if Sanders or Jefferson got the fumble.~TK

Yeah the Colts probably would be Super Bowl Champions and Peyton would have that 1 ring.

Just think if the Steelers chose a different QB in the 2004 draft, or if Darrell Jackson got a score on that penalty in Superbowl 40, or if any of Vinateiri's kicks hit a few inches to either side of his boot.

 

Peyton is a great QB, I'll give him that. But to say that Edge wouldn't be half as good if it weren't for Peyton? Edge would have almost as many yards, maybe 500 less, if he was at any other reasonable team. He is a great all purpose RB. -MDG

having those linebackers and safeties playing back a few yards b/c the D is affraid of Manning beating them, will do a lot for any RB.

The Colts should draft a running back, but Rhodes isn't that bad. He did rush for over 1,000 yards his rookie season. But Edgering would not have done so good any where else, Peyton made him look good, and the Colts good offensive line opened up holes, keep the d-line away long enough for him to get out. Now that he in Arizona where they have no offensive line, it will be hard to achieve what he did in Indy to say the least.

Yea... for ten million a year, I have no problem with a product of the system going elsewhere. I'll be laughing my ass of when he realizes he won't make the playoffs once in his four-year stint in Arizona.

Arizona has the back, and the recievers. It's up to Warner and their defense if they wanna get any where this year.

No I didn't realize that. Even with those statistics I don't trust Arizona's defense. They play the Rams and 49ers twice.

That stat is very overrated. Also notice that the Cardinals had the least amount of plays ran against them, and allowed 5.1 yards per play. Near the bottom of the league. They were also 27th in scoring defense, the most important defensive stat.

I totally agree Daustin. Arizona is not 8th in Total Defense. To me they should be around 16th in the League. Thier Defense is no more than average.

So if teams ran the least amount of plays on them, wouldn't that mean they stopped them half/most of the time? Let's just say that Arizona has a medicore defense. They can play really good when they want, or they can just really suck balls.

I agree with your last statment. On any given game Arizonas defense has the capability of stopping a great offensive team. Some games thier good, and some games thier not.

That was a great stop by Roethlesberger(sp?) though. If he hadn't had grabbed Harpers leg, the Steelers would have lost that game.

That was a great stop by Roethlesberger(sp?) though. If he hadn't had grabbed Harpers leg, the Steelers would have lost that game.

I was happy Ben did that(and MV miss the FG) until we(Broncos) had to play them and lose at home..
