The Carolina Panthers have signed WR Keyshawn Johnson to a 4-year deal.

That will fit rather nicely as a second option alongside Steve Smith.

carolina is looking like an O powerhouse, the best 1-2 WRs

What? Have you forgotten about Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne? Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce? Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald? Steve Smith and Keyshawn Johnson just don't fit in that conversation.

Steve Smith is actually pretty good, though I do hate that big f*cking mouth of his. Keshawn will definitely improve their O, but not bring it up to "Powerhouse" status.

Maybe the Panthers could pull it off this year, or not... AFC is the better of the conferences, as we all know...

King Kapone

lol, Steve Smith has a mouth? I never heard him say anything unprofessional. He always comes off as a respectful player with love for the game. Unless I'm forgetting some incident(s)..

So, after all this, I still say someone like the fricken Cleveland Browns will win the SB.

ok i forgot about Indy, but Bruce is getting old and the Card's WRs have never lived up to their billing

Buddy, both had over 100 catches and 1400 yards last year. Boldin had some of the most amazing runs after the catch I've ever seen, and Fitzgerald was voted into the Probowl.

Plus Carolina has Deshaun Foster in at runningback, this looks like another promising year for them. Now just add maybe 1 player on the defense just to balance their team out, or just to add another good defensive player. They'll be set.

I was suprised to hear the Dolphins are interested in signing Lvar Arrington. The "fins would deffinately have the best offseason if they signed him and traded for Culpepper in the same year. biggrin.gif

-GTAP-

Nah, even if they did... The Redskins had the best this year...

If you consider overpaying average players having the best offseason then yeah, they had the best one.

Also you fellas can't forget about Jerry Porter and Randy Moss.

Keyshawn isn't? blink.gif

I've been hearing that the Saints might still draft Matt Lienart with the #2. If they do, please someone explain why. Seeing that they just signed there franchise quarterback. I see them end up either

a. drafting D'Brickshaw Fergueson

b. drafting Mario Williams

c. trading the pick

Over The Wall

That's called a smokescreen. They might be trying to entice a team to trade with them and overcompensating for the pick. I don't know that any team would buy it, but if a team is absolutely in love with him, they might not want to take the chance of letting the Saints pick at 2. The Saints hold the pick at ransom and get a killing for it- if all goes to their plan and a team is dumb enough to believe that they'll take him.

Well, Keyshawn official signs a 4 year deal with the Panthers. And the damn Niners signed Larry Allen, which officially sucks ass.

Question of the NFL Season 2006

•How long with T.O. last in Dallas?

I realy think he will be traded before the deadline...

With a hard nosed, take no sh*t coach like Bill Parcells who has experience dealing with Keyshawn Johnson, I think T.O. will be fine in Dallas. To be honest now that I think about it that was probably the best place for him to go. Dallas should just draft a QB, and then they'll be good. T.O. now has the chance to be a #1 reciever for the 3rd time in his career and be thrown the ball from a decent QB. He had all of that in Philly, yet he opened his mouth and that was it. Within a matter of 1 year he was gone. He spoke out in February after the Eagles lost the Super Bowl, and then next February he was traded.

But I feel that the Dallas organization will be able to keep Owens in check.

Do we know the terms of his contract? i.e. any clauses and what not?

Contract = 3 years, 30+ million (I Think)

Rumors say that Texans will try to trade for Moulds. Andre Johnson + Eric Moulds + Reggie Bush, weird core of recievers (saying that Texans would move Bush to WR).

So you really thought he was going to last in Denver?  bored.gif

Longer than he would have in Dallas... Atleast a full year, if not longer... For one, a lot of Broncos wanted him on the team and in Dallas some were not too fond of it...

Plus, I doubt they would move Bush to WR because he's a runner not a catcher...

lololol, wait wait wait wait.... So, just because more people wanted him in Denver means he'll last? LOL! You do realise that ALOT of Eagles fans/players were thrilled to have him. Just because more people want him on the team, doesn't mean he'll last. Dallas has a better organization than Broncos and I think Dallas can handle him. Parcells have put up with the biggest controvesal and big mouthed players, T.O will just be another one.

And you must've never really watched Reggie Bush play, have you? blink.gif

I guess 43 catches, 509 yrds and 7 TD's doesn't really make him much of a reciever, considering he played WR 50% of the game.

Yes briefly, for 1 season I think. T.O. was actually a big part of a playoff game for the 'Niners it was in '98 against the Packers, and I think Owens was a rookie, and he dropped all of his passes all day, but then towards the end of the game he caught the ball and held on when it really mattered. And the 'Nieres rallied back. Does anybody remeber this playoff game? I believe it was an NFC Wild card game

'Nieres?

Yeah I do remember, especially the commentator... "He caught it, He caught it!!"

@DJones - [sarcasm]43 catches in 4 years of college and played 50% WR in games? Wow, that is good[/sarcasm]

Moving Bush to reciever would be the dumbest move any team could make.

I knew I wasn't the only to believe that...

I also have that opinion. Hes a runningback who can catch the ball, but running out of the back field is his pedigree (I picked up that word some where biggrin.gif)

Vince Young issue? I believe some of you lads have too much time on your hands. So what if the kid doesn't throw like a normal QB should, he still packs an arm and is accurate. Just because someone's fast, they shouldn't get moved to WR.

Plus I have never heard this "issue" brought up for Young. It's just the lower tier QBs that got switched to WR this year.

They have been discussing it on random sports shows recently.~TK

Whoever changes Vince Young to WR doesn't deserve to be a general manager or head coach. He's huge and can throw the ball, who cares if the way he throws is messed up because that can be changed within' a few years. Vince Young will be a better Michael Vick in the future.

Yeah, Reggie Bush didn't take half the carries, LenDale White was USC's runningback. I'm sorry, but if I drafted a RB to only carry the ball for 16 times a game, I'd just switch him to WR. He can catch, he can run, he could probably do it all.

@Rockstar, you do realise he has been there RB/WR since he was a freshman? Mind doing research before saying he never caught a ball prior to his junior season?

93 catches, for 1,301 and for 13 TD's isn't good at all. Considering he took turns off at RB/WR. sigh.gif

Gale Sayers = Reggie Bush

You honestly think Gale Sayers would've been a HOF'er if he played todays game? No doubt he's a great player, but back then those type of stats were elite, (seeing that he lead the league in rushing), but now those stats are medicore and probably won't get you any where.. The top 5 rushers in the NFL have more than 1231 yards this season (Gale Sayers highest most yards rushed in a season). Reggie Bush can get 1,200+ yards on the ground each season, but isn't that why they have Domanick Davis? David Carr needs more recievers to throw to, because Jabar Gaffany isn't cutting it.

And I liked to point out that the guys who lead the rushing (top 5) all made the playoffs. (exception of Larry Johnson with KC, but the team had a record of 10-6)
