Worth getting it?

Now that you've played it, what are you thoughts?

    • It's great, I love it.

    • It'd be better if it had a better framerate but it's still good fun.

    • The game itself is generally good but the graphics/framerate ruin it.

    • Average.

    • It's not great and I wouldn't recommend it.

    • I think it's awful but what do you expect for a GBA?

Well I didnt care for it much at all either. Much like GTA1 as silverblade said, but only for GTAB. I dont recommend it.

You could just get a GBA emulator and play GTA: Advance on PC.

Aren't "The game itself is generally good but the graphics/framerate ruin it." and "It'd be better if it had a better framerate but it's still good fun." essentially the same thing?

im a really big Fan of GTA, but this game made the series collapse. it was supposed to be before GTA3, but it did nothing to explain GTA3. the game was pretty fun to play, but the missions sucked, gangs just started to hate you for no reason during missions, and the gangs are all in the wrong place. plus, u cant even change the radio. (< not a very good point but still) this game wasnt very good. overall, id rate it a 3.5 out of 10.

As you've all said before me, it's not the best GTA game to have come out of the woodwork, but I still found a shred of fun in playing it, but maybe that's because I'm an optimist. turn.gif

I'd suggest playing it, but buying it....... not so much.

I don't think the game is particularly bad, I enjoy playing it when I'm going out to dinner or something and i have to wait ages for dinner to arrive

It's a good game, certainly under rated. For a GBA game, it's very well done, and for a GTA game it's not at the top, but it certainly holds its ground. I think that a lot of people have either forgotten or just ignored what the previous GTA games were like. Most of them have been like GTA Advance, top down. It's nostalgia.

it was a decent game, something that i use on road trips because some of those missions are so hard they take me forever to beat, even though i seriously doubt i will ever beat the game.

i give it a 6.5/10

I bought the game today. I am a GTA fan; I own GTA1, 2 and London, as well as the 3-D ones which I played first. I cannot afford a PSP, so I bought a GBA SP for 80 dollars.

I have my reasons for purchasing such a flawed game. Nobody has made a good GTA for the TI-89 graph calculator, due to its technical specs, and I am sick of playing Tetris over and over again. Despite the game's many flaws, such as annoying music, lack of motorcycles, lack of humor, horrid combat controls, and weird driving physics, it is still a GTA game. There is nothing like smacking the heck out of pedestrians after a long boring class session. Also, it is amazing that there are 3-d rendered buildings on such a puny system as the GBA, even if it is a limited perspective.

The whole point is that it is portable, and affordable (that is, the gba is cheaper than DS or PSP), and it is violent. That is my ideal game.

Hell yeah you should get the PlayStation Portable for Liberty City Stories. I am defo getting it for that (oh by the way this is going to be a lot better than the GBA game for the dumb ones tounge.gif) and I also am getting it for the multimedia features and web browsing (just think the Hot Chick Topic in bed with you and your PSP!!).

Yeah, well my mom said that she would be able to buy me a PSP if only we could sell our house.

I am still enjoying GTA Advance, though, and I am now in Staunton Island. Besides, I only have one other game for my GBA, Pokemon Emerald, which has become extremely boring and worthless.

I let my nephew play GTA Advance. He first had very low expectations but he said it was a lot more fun than he expected. (I just wish there was a tank spawning cheat.)

But GTA LCS, from what little I have heard about it from various websites, sounds like it will be an amazing game for the PSP. Maybe I should get a job on the weekends this semester so I can save up some cash and buy one. I am just concerned about the battery life of the PSP.

2.Does it move like gta 1?

3.Is it like the first couple of gta games?

People bitch without reading up on specs sly.gif The GBA/GBA-SP doesnt have a 3D processor, give the devs a break, they did the best with what they had. I wasnt expecting an insanely good looking game or radio before I got it. I give it 10/10.

2.What do you mean by sort of?I mean, does your guy go forward in the direction he is facing when you press up,and turns left and right for the left and right buttens?

3.Why?It is bigger,I heard,then gta1.

And finally,could you answer this?

Does the framerate make it realy, realy horrible or does it not realy matter when your playing it?

Brother Marcus

Some of the statements in this thread are a bit lame.

Gameboy Advance = Portable SNES (16 bit machine)

PSP = slightly less than Portable PS2 (128 bit machine).

For everyone knocking GTA: Advance, what did you expect? dozingoff.gif

To anyone wants to know what the game is like, well it's not as good as GTA: 1 on the PC or PS1. But that's what you should expect isn't it?, and if you expect that, then it's a good game. the GBA has got massive limitations, R* did the best they could do. I was actually surprised that they did it so well.

9/10 IMO - if you are a wise person and know what to expect. i.e This is a GBA game. it will have it's huge limitations, there's only so many things you can do.

8/10 - if you expect it to be GTA: 1, which it obviously won't because the GBA is not a portable PS1.

3/10 - if you firstly bought GTA: 3, not appreciating just how great the first 2 games in the series were.

I think it is better than GTA but not GTA2. It has better graphics that GTA on PC and PS. But GTA2 has an overall better premise. And radio. Oh, the horror of those repititive MIDIs! Well, they're not that bad.

I thought GBA was 32-bit, but yeah it is like a portable SNES. The GBA cartridge have such major limitations that most of the "expanded" Liberty City had blocks with no buildings, just dirt or grass. And the peds all look the same when they are only two pixels wide or whatever. This makes it difficult when doing missions where you have to kill certain peds and NOT another certain ped.

This is a good game if you can only afford a GBASP. Otherwise get a PSP.

This game isn't worth comparing to LCS. Obviously, LCS beats it many times.
