ok, i got to the tenth page of this topic and relized it was pretty well pointless to read the rest, i registered and i'm here to tell my big news

first off, i have known about this glitch for about a week and have been doing lots of experimenting

i got it to work by going on all sides of the map and in one case got it to work while using the blue hell glitch when i got my jetpack under the vinewood safe house ( not madd dogg's manison) i flew far out into the ocean and got 3 new territories... however i didn't fly it very long (as long as u all have for reults)

but that still isn't my biggest news...:

My friend and i have been experimenting with the starting of the game and getting some wierd territories (bayside, the small ballas above the 24-7 in north central los santos, and others) and after some many variables put in and tested, we actually started the game WITHOUT these territories....

ok we ddin't start without them... but we got to the doberman mission and they didn't appear... i do not know exaclty what caused this but we were trying to find the extent of the gang war glitches

i think it has to do with the glitch that u can save to cancel a war and such... but i'm not sure... i think all these glitches that we've been finding with gang wars are related to one problem

i know i can't get proof right now but i will get stuff up as soon as possible

One more thing... my cousin CLAIMS To have taped down his x button and flew a shamal for about 7 hours and then got out and died... he said he ended up in san fierro with heavely populated gang war areas all over LV and SF, he also said that gang wars were easy to start and small areas (like idlewood i beleive)

i do not think this is true, but if someone has the time to prove this.... i'd be happy to give credit to u tounge.gif

liermam: I'd be interested in hearing how he flew for 7 hours. I had about 30ish% fat, 100% muscle when I flew out and died of starvation before 3 hours.

*CONFIRMED*

I just held 'x' with a book on top of the button Southeast for an hour, pretty sweet idea. Now my gang is everywhere!

EDIT: Oops, I double posted. I'm a damned idiot. I'm a veteran at this site too. sad.gif

1) Drive a boat

2) don't do it for 3 hours. 30 minutes is good enough.

You got here where? Page 26 of 26? Look around, I've been here a good portion of the time.

Now, pay more attention to my post. I was explaining what I did back when no one knew much of anything, and it took me less than 3 hours to starve to death. Why did I post that? Because this guy said his cousin stood out there for 7 hours.

Also, the plane works just as good as the boat...and seems easier to access for me...

By the way Patch, if you only did it for 30 minutes, I'd like to know how many territories you have open.

And I did it for 3 hours...control 112, which constitutes 70% or something. I have 164 or something total territories I can take over. If you'd read this thread, you'd realize that we figured out that the longer you stay out, the more you unlock. Someone else (stalemate) has 178 or something territories unlocked.

its possible to get other people to own the territories if thats what ur asking

if ur asking if its possible to take them over and start a gang war... i believe it might be possilbe after extremely long hours of waiting... but not many can do it

and bobo, i understand that ur thinking i'm a liar... but i'm just passing on info that i have been told

it can't be confirmed but i think what my cousin was getting at is the fact that a lot of the territories were small and highly concentrated...

did u get the same effect? becuz i know a lot of people are saying that las venturas is one big territory with one wave of people, but my cousin is saying it was many small territories with 3 waves

I don't think you're a liar. I think you were lied to. I don't see how it's possible to stay out there for 7 hours if I couldn't even stay out there for three.

FF8, read through the thread.

Just saw this thread from a reference on gamefaqs. I have tried this 'cheat' and it does work.

I flew in the Shemal for about an hour and 15 min, to the SE corner and back. I recorded the terrirories ever 5 min.

I started with:

GS = 46

BA = 16

LSV = 5

When I landed, I had:

GS = 67

BA = 30

LSV = 21

I can't find my TI-83, so I haven't been able to make a formula out of the data I collected (if anyone has one, I'd be happy to send you the data) but by looking at it, it seems that, on average, each Gang gains 2 territories for every 5 min you are out at sea.

The distance you are out there is critical also. I noticed that nothing happened in the first 10 min of my trip and in the last 10 min. I think you have to be running into the invisible wall out at sea, or close to it, for anything to happen. The side you are on also doesn't matter, as far as I can tell. I was at the helm the entire time, but if you just let your craft go with the button taped down, it will end up facing due west (if you start out heading SE).

I haven't been able to capture anything out of LS, but I have taken a few of the 'foe' terrirories gained in LS due to this glitch. The two I took on Verdant Bluffs and LS:IA only had a single wave, and the gang membes were armed with bats and handguns.

Another Gang (Triads?) hangs out around SF (I know they are always there) but you can't war with them. But, strangly enough, the Triads attacked one of my territories in LS. I knew it was them because their blips were blue. Vagos are yellow and Ballas are red. I have been trying to elemenate the Ballas, so they can be removed from the top 3 on the stats and see if the Triads show up.

I have seen groups of Vagos hanging around SF, but I was on Wang mission at the time and stupidly let them go. I think the only gangs you can war with though, are the Ballas and Vagos. Killing 100s of Triads does nothing.

Well, based on my calculations, another hour at sea should get me up to 178 (178-106(mine) = 72(to go) | 72/3 = 24(territores per gang to go) | 24\2 = 12(sets of 5min to get them) | 12*5 = 60(min) = 1 Hour). So I'll keep you guys posted and see what happens.

Off to listen to another hour of WCTR suicidal.gif

(edit: plugged the wrong numbers in. Fixed em now)

you can fly/sail for as long as you want, the longer you do it for, the more territorys you get. you also dont HAVE to kill yourself, but i find if i do then more territorys appear, but you will get SOME even if you dont die, the direction you go in doesnt have any affect either.

this is a little off topic, but. I did the glitch, but is there any way of telling exactly how many territorys i have on my map? not just the territorys GSF, or anyone else, owns, but the total amount?

To do this, you'll need to have gang territories available to be taken

over. Hop in a plane or boat, and fly into a corner of the map. Tape down

the X button for acceleration, and let the plane or boat go for at least 20

minutes (real time) in that distance. Now, hop out, and drown yourself.

Just great.

I just wasted a good 45 hours for nothing.

Now I cant do it cuz I got 100% territories.

I dont think gaining more territories means travelling for a longer time, i think its the distance.

Iv tried it in a boat wer i travelled for 20mins south east and i never hit any barrier. Any never got anymore territories.

I tried it in a jetpack but i got no wer.

I tried it in a plane crnt remember which for 20mins and got 1 terittory of the Vagos but it hasnt appeared on my map.

BTW i had 100% Territory taken over b4 i tried this.

Anyone any idea how far i have 2 travell too get more territories??

if you want more territorys the best way to do it is to make yourself fat, then go out in a plane/boat. just leave it until he dies of starvation, it should last about 2-3 hours, that'll get you quite a few territorys..

Okay, I can see that someone hit the reset button on this thread and no one knows anything any more.

People, READ THROUGH THE THREAD!

First off, San Andreas is not like Vice City. You don't "hit boundaries" because there are none to hit.

It's been known for the majority of this thread that 20 minutes is the MINIMUM time to fly in an airplane or boat to open up just a few territories.

It's been known for the majority of this thread that the longer you stay out, the more you open up. The people who have most of the map open with gang territory stayed out for 2 and half hours or longer.

It's been known for the majority of this thread that it is difficult (but not impossible) to get gangsters to spawn in the newly opened territories.

It's been known for quite a while now that you do not have to have the territories actually on the map to do this glitch, as stalemate did this immediately after completing the initial bike ride mission and checked his stats and had more than 100 territories.

It's been known for the majority of this thread that the glitch will work even if you had 100% of the territory before doing this trick (I did it, you can too).

It's been known for the majority of this thread that in the new territories, there will only be one wave of gangsters.

If you want to ask a question, or post complaining about not being able to do something, please read through the thread and make sure that it isn't something we've already covered. However, if you've discovered something new (like an easier way to get gangsters to appear) or have discovered something that you think might actually further the complete and total explanation of this thread, please skim through the other pages before posting. The main reason this thread is 27 pages is because the people who've been here the whole time keep having to explain the whole thing over and over and over again to new people to the thread. Don't believe me? Flipping through the pages and look at how many people have been here saying the same things as you guys, only to be corrected by people who've been here and then told to read through the whole thread.

If you ask a question and I know I've answered it at least twice, I will respond to your question with "Read through the thread."

After the Marco Bristo's mission, I tried to fly to Liberty City to see if I really could reach it when not on that mission. I flew for a long, long, long time and I had to drown myself. This was before I read this, it wasn't intentionally.

Now, after completing the story missions, I started taking over territories to get 100%.

LOL, I took over all ballas territories in LS and in the stats, it said that there was 1 ballas territory left.

I started thinking about this glitch but it couldn't be true because I haven't tried. Then I remembered that long long long try-to-fly to Liberty City and looked at the map: I had one ballas territory in San Fierro... at a CORNER on the FREEWAY. loool how the hell am I going to take over that territory?? A corner on the freeway..

This glitch looked funny at the beggining, but now it's so damn stupid! how am i going to reach 100% now, lol.

BTW there were also some vagos territory in SF and 2 vagos territory in Bayside Marina.

There isn't really a way to disable this right? This thing screwed my game.

::EdItEd:: Added spoiler tags, correction of Tierra Robada to Bayside Marina.

First off, San Andreas is not like Vice City. You don't "hit boundaries" because there are none to hit.

No, not in the Vice City sence, but there are boundries. You don't run into them like Vice City, and swerve into the ground.

Reasons I belive there are boundries in SA:

1. At a certain point out at sea, the map gets no smaller.

2. If you leave your boat out for a few hours going exactly SE, when you come back it will be facing due West.

3. If you actualy sit there an pilot your plane for an hour going SE, you will start having to make course corrections because your plane will be slowly urged west.

There ARE boundries, and I have a feeling that once you reach them you are in a sortof 'non-moving zone'. That is to say, I am more inclined to believe that the land moves around you out there and you stay still.

It's been known for the majority of this thread that it is difficult (but not impossible) to get gangsters to spawn in the newly opened territories.

I don't belive this is entirely true. Someone talked about ped paths on this thread I think and there are certain areas where no one spawns. One such area is Fallow Bridge. You will NEVER see anyone walking on that bridge besides peds pulled from cars. The only way to start a war in these areas I belive (though I have not done it yet) is to pull gang members out of cars.

As I said in my earlier post, only Vagos and Ballas can be warred on. In Little Mexico, LS, Tridas spawn like mofos, but killing them will results in cops, not gang wars. By the way, Little Mexico on my map is redish so I assume it is a Ballas area, but I haven't tried taking it yet.

Can someone give me tips to kill gangs in the new areas you get after this?

Run around for ages in areas where you see other peds, looking for Vagos (if the area is yellow) or Ballas (if it is red). Ignore blue Vagos (Triads). Yank the right gang members out of cars and waste them in areas with no peds.
