There are never gang members in areas classed as:

AIRPORT_RUNWAY

GOLF_CLUB

RESIDENTIAL_RICH_SECLUDED (not sure about this, maybe the area near millie?)

COUNTRYSIDE

DESERT

 

 

this is complete bullsh!t , how the hell do you think cj and i got LV?? in a golf club area, ty.....desert also a lie, i have a piece in fort carson and i have las payasadas....countryside.....i have angle pine and whetstone....AND i have the runway piece you also say is unable to obtain, so like we've said before, dont say that there are NEVER gang members there, when theyre obviously are

He means gang members don't spawn there. You guys already figured out how to get territory where members don't spawn, etc.

Also, there are 3 golf clubs in the game.

And "Desert" probably means out in the middle of nowhere...not the cities...

actually your wrong on my game ballas spawned on the puttin green in LV i just had to move them where they didint so i could take it over so yes they spawn on the greens in LV closest to the desert

I reminded stalemate that there are three golf clubs in SA, so the fact that "golf club" is in the code as a place they don't spawn doesn't mean they won't spawn at LV. It could mean not to spawn them on the greens in SF or on the greens in LS. There are three golf courses in the game.

The coloring of the territories seems pretty random, just the same as the OGF territories that are attacked are pretty much randomly selected from those bordering enemy territory. The territory map on page 17 of this thread indicates that white territories are not given out to any particular gang, so it could be any of the gangs that takes over the territory. Of course, the OGF territories are not the same when you open up gang wars a second time, and Vagos took over the spot in the lower right corner while Ballas got the rest, but otherwise this fits. Wait! What about the huge, County/City wide territories? Again, WTF.

 

I am still confused on when the other colors show up, do they occur as soon as the glitch is done, soon after, or when you have been busy taking over territories for awhile. I noticed that territory swapping continued while I did not have gang wars unlocked (ie. after a mission when before ballas had 59 vagos 57 ogf 41 afterwards it would be ballas 58 vagos 58 ogf 41) but I am wondering why gang wars had to be unlocked for aztecas and rifas to do anything.

 

Props to Shuriken, now I know which cars to pull guys out of in the small corner of Verdant Meadows that touches the road...

Considering that gang members rarely spawn in the desert towns, how is everyone planning to do the lead a gang into the territory you want method in out of the way places?

 

Note: The color I saw was not exactly "orange", but people had been mentioning an unexplainable color of that shade. It was maybe a weak orange that had been puked on, but that was close enough. Should have described it or found a way to post a pic. Yellow-green actually sounds about right, except it was a little more yellow than green. Leading to me guessing that it was the same orange color someone else mentioned. Guess I was wrong.

 

Also, maybe we should stop answering each person who repeats a previous question and making this thread more confusing, and just refer them to a page. Maybe we could list everything we are pretty sure about and tell people what page it is posted on.

game. To do this, you'll need to have gang territories available to be taken

over. Hop in a plane or boat, and fly into a corner of the map. Tape down

the X button for acceleration, and let the plane or boat go for at least 20

^ Don't need gang territories avalible... they are still listed in stats and I had them before gang territories open.

Don't need to die... territories are added as you fly, go as long as you want/can

 

Also, with the whole debate of Shuriken's list of non-gang areas... when you have added these new territories, I think we can all agree that the spawning acts independently of whatever was already there (i.e. tornados everywhere, multiple gangs spawning in same places, gang members in water) so even if the normal gangs of the area are told not to spawn there, the independent glitch-induced spawning can still continue.

Also, I've seen the pop up as a deep, deep orange color. Right smack between red and yellow.

 

Anyway, I noticed that when the deep green color comes up on the lower right corner, I'm in a territory that is on the map shaded more of a yellowish green compared to regular OGf territory.

i havent posted recently b/c of the constant bs supreme keeps spuing, ballas have spawned on my golf course, desert, all over, so really there is no limit to where they will spawn.

 

for a bit of you still workin in SF, i noticed doing the ambulance and firetruck missions that ballas spawned in the areas of the person needed to be helped or the fire to be put out, this might help you a bit.

yes, my "bitch thoery" works very well for small areas like in SF and for badlands

OMFG DUDE, check back a few pages, on silent j's post, when he took over LV, where the hell do you think they spawned at??? ON THE GOLF COURSE!!! ty

 

AND and, when i was killing golfers at avispa, ballas spawned

 

and 3?? i only remember there being 2....actually ones a golf course.... and the other is a country club

Stalemate:

The information i posted all came from my Uk copy of GTA's .dat files.

 

I'd advise you dont decide somthing is BS before considerring all the possibilitys. like some of the golf club area may not be classified as GOLF_CLUB but as one of the area types which do spawn gang members. also, unless you SAW the gang members spawn, how can you be sure they didn't walk there from a near by area, peds dont just stand still. and according to the file, the types of desert area where no gangs spawn is the type of area where ONLY desert people spawn, same with airport, except its only the orage jacketed people who spawn in AIRPORT_RUNWAY areas.

The file is to big to copy/paste, so i if you have a dvd drive you can see for yourself, (DVD drive letter):\DATA\POPCYCLE.DAT open in notepad.

also if somone can host it i can put a txt version up.

 

Also there is an area called AIRPORT aswell as AIRPORT_RUNWAY. gangs DO spawn in AIRPORT areas.

 

I spent a reasonable amount of time and effort finding and understanding the information from these files, and for you to dissmiss it as bullsh*t just because you missinterpreted the information and then did not bother to consider why it didn't fit in wth your expiriences, was harsh.

 

to those who found my post usefull I am currently looking into which cars most appear in which coloured areas, in an attempt to deduce which gang is which colour. If anyone else wants to try this aswell, that would be cool, so results could be compared.

 

Edit: a list of area classifications and gang/other ped activity (all areas have 100% cops at all times. I there is no gang activity I will post what activity there is to try and help people deduce what kind of area is where:

 

BUSINESS - 70-100% gang at all times.

DESERT - 0% gang at all times, 15% workers and 100% desert folk is ALL oyu get in this type of area.

ENTERTAINMENT (LS & SF) - 70-100% at all times.

COUNTRYSIDE - 50-80% farmers, 10-20% casual_poor, 0-20% hookers, 0-15% criminals

RESIDENTIAL_RICH - lots of gang activity.

RESIDENTIAL_AVERAGE - lots of gang activity.

RESIDENTIAL_POOR - lots of gang activity.

GANGLAND - Full gang activity.

BEACH - lots of gang activity.

SHOPPING - lots of gang activity.

PARK - lots of gang activity.

INDUSTRY - lots of gang activity.

ENTERTAINMENT_BUSY (LV) - lots of gang activity.

SHOPPING_BUSY (LV) - lots of gang activity.

SHOPPING_POSH - lots of gang activity.

RESIDENTIAL_RICH_SECLUDED - 0% gang, 10% casual_rich, 90% servants.

AIRPORT - lots of gang activity.

AIRPORT_RUNWAY - 0% gang, ONLY aircrew_runway (people with orange jackets)

GOLF_CLUB - 0% gang, 0% cops (interesting) 100% golfers.

OUT_OF_TOWN_FACTORY - 0% gang, 100% oot_fact (factory workers?)

well last night i took ofer the SF hospital territory, and 2 territorys by this LS police department.

Has anyone noticed that sometimes the territory on the map doesnt turn all the way green? anyways im up to 86, ballas 13 and vegos 16. i find more ballas spawn then vegos. and i was thinking. you know how dude said make the enemy gangbangers chase you into enemy territroy? well maby if someone wants to spend alot of time, see if they will chase you across san andreas. im gonna try it when i get home from school. should be easy if you use a car and slowly drive. and just on an interesting note, i saw a driveby done by...tommy vercetti? no altho the person looks like its tommy when you go closer he is one of the peds wearing blue. i think...

Does anyone know if putting in the faster gameplay cheat speeds this up? How about the faster clock cheat? Also, do you have to keep flying or can you just get out to a certain point and then sit and let time pass. The most new territories I've been able to generate is about 120, I've heard there are 178. Anyway, I know it's been said before, but I have to say it: awesome find Ozzy, I would never have had the patience to try this myself. One more thought, is it possible that the 2 "extra" territories that show up without using the glitch (the one in Bayside and the other one, I forget where it is), happen after you fly to Liberty City for the St Marks Bistro mission? Forgive me if these are old questions, I dont feel like reading all 25 pages of this thread

someone tryed the speend code and it didnt work. and many have said those 2 extra territorys open after LC

 

im not sure if anyone has just sat way out there, but im gonna try to get more territorys and see if i can unlock more cus i have 86 i think, ballas-14 vegos-16

Jump in a plane or boat mabey, but I know a plane works, go way out to sea and die you get reginerated back in town and there will be new territories. I read this in a secrects/tips txt file on some gta page. I accidentl;y did this one time and had new territories at the airport in san fiero. Now that i know it's a glitch Im gonna try and get the whole dam map as my terrotory

well i decided to take another 3 hour tour with the boat "speeder"

i now have 93, vagos have 16 and ballas have 12

i havent had time to explore new territorys cus i finished the tour and saved at 2am

And yes they all recived a one month vacation with pay for the success of the game. they should be back sometime soon. then they have christmas holidays but im sure they will be back before that starts

Ozzy, I just want you to know that like mentioned back on page 19 or 20 I have OGF and ballers in sections of SF. (currently just finished first date mission) I had spent alot of time at the beginning of the game visiting SF and LV and never died (and saved) there or on my one oceanic flight to the southeast I flew back safely. I had done this all before the doberman mission. When doberman opened up there were two or three vargo and baller territories in SF. I didn't notice any in LV but I wasn't looking at the section of the map much. So the gamefaqs way to trip this (glitch/feature) maybe slightly off. However it maybe just because of my 70 or so hours into the game before doing that mission. I've spent about an hour and a half reading this post I hope R* will repy in some way. good luck with this and nailing down it's trigger.

About five minutes ago I walked out of my safehouse in an area a little to the east of the Glen Park territory where you do your first gang war. This little spot is surrounded by many territories but I have not flown far enough to make it a territory yet, so it was the correct shade of white. Strangely, a group of Ballas were standing on the sidewalk right near my front door. I shoot them. And it starts a gang war. I kill all of them and this spot is now a territory that I possess. Wtf?

You didn't read the whole topic.

 

 

@supre: Sometimes, even without this glitch, there will be a territory that you half own (usually happens when you die during 3rd wave or so) that will appear either as a really, really light shade of one color or another, or it will be truly white (if no gang has any advantage). This is probably what you experienced.

same as any other gang war, shoot 3 gang members. shooting the right gang, and making them spawn, or getting them to certain areas is covered throughout the topic. read it all, i did. its quite interesting.
