Anyway, stalemate, what I was asking you is not how you unlocked the territory, but how you knew HOW MANY you had unlocked.

[if i, oz, or bo havent already answered this, the name colors, is a gangs terr. persay, and the white is yours, thus the whole turf war thing, your terr. vs theres, get it? yes the whole overlapping thing also applies, but not like your stating]

Stale, the safehouse I mentioned was the door I walked out of when the text appeared in that color. The safehouse contained pretty much in the complete middle of that territory, one which I had just taken. This means the text should have either been white, or green as many people have seen. The white seems to indicate mostly neutral or less active gang terr. But just as the territory colors on the map are mixed, it seems appropriate that the text popup would be the same color, right? This is why I think orange may be a mix of yellow and green.

 

no this isnt right either, almost every piece of terr. has 4 pieces, there in 1/4's and the gang that has the most influence on the majority of that specified terr., thats the color your safes in that area will show up as, which is usually ballas, and they show up as orange in the names now. and btw supreme.....yellow and green.....not orange dude.....thats yellow and red.....

I am aware that this was figured out around page 10, but I had just seen a couple questions asking how you find out. I guess we could make everyone read all of the pages though

 

yeh why dont we just treat the past 20 pages like its all useless bs and just start over every time someone doesnt wanna read them....

 

and Bo, i just took the number i had before i did the glitch and subtracted that from my total after glitch, and got the amount that i unlocked

And by this logic, any territory shared by the Triads (red) and Rifas (blue) would show up as Balla territory (purple), and this is clearly wrong.

and you get the total by adding them all together, all three gangs terr. combined..... i say this now, b/c as i post this i see 20 more posts from people about "well what about the terr. thats triads or mafia, etc." its all listed up there ( it either ballas or vagos) , i have had 1 ballas terr. since i started taking over SF, and as many know, thats mostly what SF is. and i have taken over mafia terr. that ended up counitng as a loss towards vagos (my rival) i hope somewhere if these rambles i helped someone out

Besides teritory is there other differences in the game when this glitch is activiated.

 

i think there is but im not shure what it is

dose any body know???

For Example rare cars pop up more than normal or there are more hookers on the street

Tornados and some other vehicles pop up often.

 

I found out that the Triads drive an Elegy a lot of the time.

 

In the tunnel on San Fierro (the big 4 lane tunnel in the north part the leads to the bridge) there were like 6 cops cars all traveling near each other.

 

weird stuff, but not necessarily related.

so i just finished the game and tried this. first i let a hydra go for a while but i wasnt watching and it crashed. i think i got 1 or 2. then i let the shamal fly for like at least 3 hours, i dont know exactly because i had died when i came back. i now have 130 total territories. but something odd ive noticed - none of them are any colors other than green, purple or yellow. theres some overlapping vagos and ballas, but other than that its just 3 colors. any theories on that?

That is weird, but I noticed that you probably didn't have 100% when you did the trick because there are some of the original LS territories in Vago/Balla control.

no i only had like 50% or something, but why would this matter? and actually i think ozzy got different colors like in the countryside, like he had red where mine is normal colors. not sure.....

 

btw does anyone know how to take a better pic of a tv screen?

 

hmmm just came out of the gym, and i was trapped behind the door, when i moved i fell for a while and then landed next to the door outsude? dunno if this is related but its never happened before to me, although i have heard of it.

 

3rd edit but just noticed i seem to have collected about $200,000 somewhere?? wtf is that about, i know i havent done anything to get that much $ since i finished the storyline and did this trick. anyone else have this happen?

It's not related.

 

 

But the reason I think it might matter is this.

 

If the Ballas and Vagos are strong when you do the glitch, it'd make sense for them to be reallly strong after you active more territories. I had 100% of the territories when I did this and afterwards I ended up with 62% or something. I had all different colors (brown, red, maybe some cyan, still yellow and purple and green)

that does make sense. because when i checked it once the ballas had actually taken top gang from me, but now im about 20 over them.

before i started i had 23, now i have 57. ballas 38, vagos 35.

 

im not sure if i missed it in reading this whole thing but do you just randomly gain territory in normal gameplay? like the 24 territories i just magically acquired, does that happen normally?

Well, you get a ton of free territories for free when you activate this (I went from 54 to 102), and supposedly even without this trick, the gangs transfer territory, but I'm not sure.

thats what i was wondering, because i had never noticed my gang taking any territories on its own.

I think this is probably the new get rich quick technique. If you hop the fence and activate this with the shamal immediately, I imagine that if you collect the stuff at CJs house regularly (once you open the territories so you can see them on the map) you'll start picking up quite a good deal of money (compared to what you normally have at that point of the game. And at that point of the game, you're in Ganton frequently anyway, so all the more likely you are to pick it up.

I was looking for this answer all frickin day and i ironically i found it when i wasnt looking. the new territory popping is not a glitch. I was wondering if my GTA guide book was just wrong cuz theres a map here that shows every location of the territories. If i took a pic it would look crappy (can't even say s.hite!    b/c the pic itself is not very good. Here are the colors (excluding ballas, vagos, and GSF) (so you dont have to look all over in this forum)

 

Los Aztecas Varrios: Cyan

San Fierro Rifa: Blue

Triads: Red

Da Nang: Brown

Mafia: Gray

well i think i lost teretory . i was taking over near the beach (rite next to the light house) . and the ballas spawned under water . so i got tired of waiting for them . i went to the near safe house near the peir . and saved my game . when i came out there was no green or purple color . its just there . can i still claim this terretory?

I've had this happen before when I die in the third wave. It just means that it's partially controlled by both gangs. You'll have to start another war (Ballas will still show up.)

All of this info is correct as it comes from the dat files on the game DVD.

 

There are 10 gangs programmed in, 2 of which are un-used

 

From GTA DVD:\DATA\PEDGRP.DAT and \DATA\CARGRP.DAT (opened in notepad)

 

Info on gangs, and what cars they drive.

 

Gang 1 Ballas - AKA Flats (?) -- majestic, tahoma

Gang 2 Grove Street Families -- greenwoo, savanna, voodoo

Gang 3 Los Santos Vagos - AKA Northside Mexicans -- oceanic, tornado, hermes

Gang 4 San Fiero Rifa -- sabre, stallion, blade

Gang 5 Da Nang Boys - AKA Vietnamese -- buccanee, manana, tampa

Gang 6 Italian Mafia -- sentinel, admiral, feltzer

Gang 7 Triads -- sultan, stratum, elegy

Gang 8 Varrio Los Aztecas - AKA Southside Mexicans -- hermes, broadway, glendale

Gang 9 UNUSED -- sentinel

Gang 10 UNUSED -- sentinel

 

note: the car names may be a bit different as these are file references, not actual names (eg. greenwoo = green wood)

 

Info from \DATA\POPCYCLE.DAT (a file which details the population density and types of peds at certain times in specified areas)

 

There are never gang members in areas classed as:

AIRPORT_RUNWAY

GOLF_CLUB

RESIDENTIAL_RICH_SECLUDED (not sure about this, maybe the area near millie?)

COUNTRYSIDE

DESERT

 

Those last 2 will cause an obvious problem.

 

Also the territory at the boat school is NOT meant to be there, I'm almost positive it (and another, possibly at Santa Maria Beach, I'm looking into it) is generatted from that mission....

.....Where you fly out to liberty city. as before that mission there are a total of 53 territories, on my finished game where i have not done the glitch there are 55.

I'm going to start a new file and find out for sure.

 

I'm now searching all the files on the DVD to find out the actual gang colours.

well i liked the new open water concept and wanted to take a good speed boat out and put it in auto pilot so i could use my computer. when i came back he was at a hospital and looked super skinny. so i wanted to check my stats and see where i am on the map and i noticed my map was different.....bigtime

When people say auto pilot does that just mean holding x with somthing (i used bluetac) or is there an autopilot thing i dont know of.

 

What colour is everyone elses area by the boat school, mine was yellow, but i managed to take it, only one wave of people though, which further supports my theory that it comes from a certain mission.

Hey all, i posted on here a day or two ago, (this post is getting big) and i asked how this was done, someone said just to fly away from the map (if i am correct) i tried this but nothing still happened. How long roughly do you have to fly out of the map for and do you have to fly back to land or can you just die at sea?

his map looks weird now, i have many other colors in diff spots, like my mount chill is occupied by vagos....and my theory on this...

unlike how most of you just did this for a few hours or whatever, i did this all nite, that means a nite of collecting all terr. then giving other gangs a chance to take over the already exposed terr., thus why i think i have more yellow on my map then others.....just a thoery

yes, just fly out to the sea and keep going, usually takes about 15-20 mins to start taking affect (best result all nite long), and you can just look at the gang stats to see what change has occured. You dont have to fly back, you can just nosedive your plane and waste yourself and it will be there

no it has no effect on that what so ever, the gang terr. arent required to get %100

 

i still have the same percentage i had before i started this glitch

Only problem is, I noticed that near the SF Airport, the shade of purple changes near the end of the runway for me...and all the terr is in the water except the end of the runway, so I guess that'll be a hard one for me to get.

 

RESIDENTIAL_RICH_SECLUDED = Northern edges of Vinewood maybe? I don't think Prickle Pine is very secluded. Or maybe it's the area around Toreno's cabin? That's secluded and a very nice looking place. Or do any of the small cities look like rich cities?

He means gang members don't spawn there. You guys already figured out how to get territory where members don't spawn, etc.

Also, there are 3 golf clubs in the game.

And "Desert" probably means out in the middle of nowhere...not the cities...
