PS2 Screenshots

I got here via a link about Rockstar's in-game camera which I thought allowed jpeg storage if L1 is used vs, I think it is, X? [on controller] Anyway, there are too many pages here (I got 56K connection!!) and I am still a bit in the dark with regard to what is needed. Do I have to buy hardware to use that method? I have no 'memory card reader' into the PC, for example

I can USB NTSC video via my Dazzle* DPM I got first for my computer, about 2 to 3 years old, likely three, but works alright.

you will need a memory stick like Action Replay max evo edition fx. it comes with a usb stick and you can use a LOT of codes for messing around.. but it is pretty expensive (or at least in denmark).. This is the only hardware i know anything about but there is a bunch of other things you can use.. besides the usb device you will need PS2 save builder and GTA:SA gallery viewer to make the pics .JPEG.. those programs can be dl for free, just search google..

Great shots guys! I have some pretty good shots myself (in my game gallery)

that I'd love to share but unfortunately I don't have the technical know-how.

 

Question... I have looked through this thread and read all about AR Max Evo, PS2 Save Builder, etc., etc. but I'm still confused as to whether or not these are "screen captures" or were they all taken with the in-game camera?

 

Also, if I ever figured out how to post my pics, would those damn numbers in the lower right-hand corner of my shots always be present or could I make them go away?

All the high quality pictures have been taken with the in-game camera. So every image you save (with L1) that goes into your gallery, will be the images that you can upload after extracting them all to normal images.

The numbers will dissapear from the corner.

Also, every image you take in game only allows you to save a certian part (within the camera lens) but when you extract them, everything outside the camera's 'focus' will be added also.

That's good info you gave me about the size of the picture in relation to the image in the in-game save gallery, I'd have never known that.

 

The only bummer about that is most of my pics were framed with other crap in the periphery. It probably "ruined" a couple of my really good shots, but I'll never know unless I'm able to post them... oh well.

 

I love the aspect of taking screenshots because I'm an amatuer photographer in real life. I have some pretty good tricks and ideas that I have yet to see in some other peoples photos that I'd like to show off before someone else figures them out. (not to belittle others work because some of you guys are pretty damned talented)

@ Moonkea- Yeah, I know how time can be an issue, I have a wife and a 1yr. old son. I've been working on a photo montage for about two weeks now.

Ah, something like that happened in one of my first shots, because at the time I didn't know that the image would add other things from the outside, so I had a spinning house icon in the corner which didn't ruin it much... but at the same time I didn't really want it there. Not much of a problem if you focus the picture on one main thing though.
