albo18 0
Hey there, I just installed VC, and the game runs great, except for one minor issue: Any sounds in the game echo, it's like they're in a tunnel or something. I'm running it on a Toshiba Satellite 1100 Notebook. I more than hit the requirements. My sound driver is an Avance AC97 Audio driver, and it's fully updated. Any insights/solutions? Thanks a lot
Wolf68k 10
I won't start a rant, I'll just simple say; get a real sound card. AC97 uses software buffering, which uses your CPU to handle it and can slow the perforance of gaming. I've had AC97 and had echoing in some games and video files. After switching to a SoundBlaster Live 5.1 the audio is so much better and no more echoing...unless I use the EAX which I don't, but that's what it's for.
albo18 0
Sounds like a good plan, but how on earth do I do this with a notebook? I doubt I have room to install it....

Wolf68k 10
See this is why I made a topic for people to read before posdting their question. I didn't know you had a laptop. In that case I don't know what to tell you.

albo18 0
Well, I'm stumped. Get this, I decide to give up and then all of a sudden, VC clears itself up. No more sound problems. I'm calling an exorcist.
intense_monkey 0
i had the same problem, it was my creative play centre thing, it changed the setting to echo, it made every sound echo, i just went into, on the right hand side clicked that job then set to default.
