The-King
No, the Esperanto is different then in Vice City, if you are referring to my reference/post.Take a look at both versions...look at an Olds Toronado from the same 1970s period. There is enough visual cues to make a distinction. I checked the current Cars from the Sensational 70s hardbound that's avail at most Target stores in the US. I can't see a backside shot, but in the later 1970s the grill was changed on the Toro before it was revamped into the downsized car in 1979 along with the Eldorado and Riviera where things got even worse in keeping the identity seperate. The Eldo is the clear favorite with it's classic sharp lines. The taillamps are always kept vertical along the rear quarters. It's Toronado though, not Tornado hehe I wouldn't get too year specific, but it falls in the right range. There is also more then one of a certain type of car, as I'd swear there are two variations on a Lincoln theme. I speculated the pickup Ryder was seen with in screenshots is a Harvester International that is a bit rare these days, but I'd need to check on eBay or something to varify. Bill Believe it or not i actually have an International Harvester Scout it is in the garage and hasnt been moved in longer than I have been alive but me, and my dad are gonna fix it this summer so I can drive it soon (sorry for getting off topic but to get back on) I think the Elegant looks like the Maybach. To end an arguement all the cars you think the sabre is based off of are made by GM so it would make sense that you all think it is a sabre because they are all in pretty much in the same genre so let people call them what they want I always called the sabre a chevelle mainly because it's one of the few older GM cars I like mainly because I dont like GM much Ford rules. The buffalo makes me think of two things either a camaro or one version of the firebird I really dont care about Pontiac but I think it looks like it because of the headlights having two slots on each side. The ZR-350 is based on the third generation RX-7 93-97.The P.I.M.P. is out. Jimbo44311
I made a list myself and here's a few points where I disagree.... The clover is a plymouth duster. The sabre is a cross between a chevelle/cutlass/skylark.....btw....ALL THE SAME CAR. But as with a lot of the cars on the list the fictional name is similar to the real name. Sabre=cutlass. The Stallion's name would suggest its a Mustang, however the front end looks more like mercury's cougar....which otherwise is basically a mustang. My guess with these is that R* can't copy a car exactly, so they're mixing cars often. The Rancher is accepted to be a Bronco or a Blazer, but after a closer look, it looks way more like a Ram charger. also, Rancher sounds like "ramcharger"....kinda..... I think the Manana looks more like a toyota tercel than anything else. Perrenial is a 65 pontiac bonneville wagon. Maybe the most similar car in the game to its real-life counterpart. Oceanic is a 50's ford fairlane The Windsor is definately a 1970 jaguar xke.....i dunno where you guys are getting corvette from. If i hear corvette again in this forum im gonna flip, there's nothing in this game that resembles a corvette in the least. The Banshee is a viper, but shorter, and the front end looks like a mazda miata. maybe a miata/viper mix. And whoever said the monster is a s10 is clearly a blind man, because the monster is obviously a full size truck. probably an f250 The cheetah isn't a ferrari testerrosa, i thought it was too....but it looks a lot more like the 355. And the Burrito is a GMC!, not a dodge....its A-Team style, man!

DoomiteAsh
The clover is a plymouth duster. I intended to post this begging to differ on the whole Clover as a Plymouth Duster thing. My first car was/is a '73 Gold Duster, and at first I didn't really see any similarities between this: And this: (Yes, it's my Duster.) However, now that I've seen both profile shots together, I can see how you could say that the Clover was at least influenced by the Duster. Although as far as I know, the Duster never had dual headlights like the Clover does, and the whole grille is wrong. The tail lights are off too. I'm one of the folks who think the Clover looks more like an Olds 4-4-2 or a Dodge Charger. But we're all entitled to our own opinions. The Doomite Is Out! Gman8
And the Burrito is a GMC!, not a dodge....its A-Team style, man! In comparison, here's the ATeam van And here's a Dodge van Close call, but look at the grille of the Dode, GMC & Burrito, and look like the GMC van doesn't have the headlights that curve to the side, while the Dodge & Burrito do. My conclusion? The Burrito is a Dodge van that's modeled after the A-Team GMC, so that means it's a wannabe and I'll be doing an update on the trucks & vans too, although I don't know them as much as the cars Edited February 10, 2005 by Gman8
