nekkidhillbilly
I put my own cars up at CarDomain, but since then one Deville never left the impound. No title so I gave up... the one after that was in much better shape but still needs a transmission. I was all for a 3rd gen Firebird but I think the Camaro version is more off then the 70s Firebird in Vice. There's some odd changes between the two, but obvious questions are raised regarding GM's early 70s coupes like the Chevelle. Most Chevys and competing GM firms kept productions based on letters to share similar assembly line part stock and fabrication. Massed production unlike the Ferraris makes it harder to pinpoint the inspiration. Luckily Ford's Mercury and Lincoln franchises didn't blur so muchI'd say also check eBay motors for a true life comparison, but I'm repeating myself. Lots of cars on auction though BILL i do use ebay for some of my comparissions
SIP YEK NOD
Wait a moment! The game plays in 1992, right? How can there be a Dodge Viper included? I thought th first Dodge Viper came out in 1995! or 1996? It's way too early for that car!!! Couldn't it be a kinda rounder shaped Corvette???? the concept first surfaced in 1989. it was first produced in 92 and didnt change much until recently
nekkidhillbilly
I think it would be great if R* made a contract deal with the big 3 car company's to use their vehicles in the game. It would be great promotion for a top seller video game to have real car models in their game not only would the car companys benfit, but so would the gamers having actual cars to drive based of the real cars, instead of fake mock-up's. But in all reality it could cause negetive attention to the car companys. I think it would be great though Yeah it's giving your company a very positive image having gangbangers shooting drive-bys outta your car models. Next of all, who of us drives like in real life? Traffic rambos like us are not a very positive reference!!!!! Think about that before posting horsesh*t like that!!! best way to sell dayton wheels though lol

Hammerchuk
the concept first surfaced in 1989. it was first produced in 92 and didnt change much until recently Nice to see someone else has a little bit of knowledge on my favourite car I was never so disappointed when they done away with the 1st Gen Viper RT/10 styling... I've grown to love the SRT-10 though aswell Main differences in the early RT/10 was lower HP, Side Curtains (instead of roll up windows, rag top that leaked (although kinda stupid to drive one in the rain anyways). no hard top option... Side exhaust The Hood had no air vents... If I had a chance to have a Viper made up of all of the Model years I'd pick... '2000 Yellow, Sapphire Blue Pearl or maybe even Red RT/10 '92- 95 style exhaust out the side... '03 style SRT-10 rims... I don't know if it would suit the car as well as it does on the SRT-10 though, because RT/10 wasn't really designed for 18's in the front and 19's in the back... Oh well... My brother had a chance to buy a used Viper a few years back (money from a head-on collision with a 3/4 Ton Dodge Ram) he was driving a Toyota Corolla and it went right up on top of the car (his demo while working at Toyota) I believe it was Motor Trend who turned him off from the idea with a feature on buying a used Viper... You pretty much have to set for life to own and keep one... Insurance, proper maintenance (costing a few grand every couple years just to replace random stuff like throttle cablesand sh*t) The idea of something breaking on the car, well the price of replacement parts alone you could buy another cheap used car... lol

Gran Turismo has no virtual Damage on their cars because the Manufacturers won't have it... That is the only way they could even get the license to put certain cars in the game... Some games pay to have the artistic ability to virtually damage a high-end sports car (Played Project Gotham Racing at my friends house one time, and was pleasantly surprised that I could go around writing cars off)

Although it would be cool to hop in more realistic looking cars, they would totally not fit in with the game... I've taken a stopwatch for the 0-60 mph time and I've done 7.5 seconds most of the time. Thanks for the compliments, I take really good care of the car, It's mint. CodyRx7
Without a doubt, the ZR-350 is a 93-95 Mazda Rx-7. The GT40/Ford GT car is a Ford GT. Although the game is set to be early 90s, the rear-winged version of the Rx-7, has a 99+ spec Japan version. (these cars were built in Japan until 2002). 99 was also the year for the change in adding extra, almost S2000 looking lights to the front of the Rx-7, but the game is correct in using the original 93-95 headlights and marker lights. I haven't bothered to check yet, but if you crash the hood off of a ZR-350, it was posted on Rx7club.com that there is a rotary engine in there. RandoMan
I'd say the Sabre is actually about a '72 Oldsmobile Cutlass, and the Tampa is a '68'ish Dodge Charger/Dart, the Windsor looks like a cross between a Jaguar XKE and '63-65 Corvette Stingray. The Buffalo is DEFINITELY all 1980's Camaro. I think the Tornado is pure 1958 Chevrolet Impala as well, and the Vodoo is a '59 or '60 Chevy Impala. -Random

Pesci
I'm almost 100% certain that the Phoenix is a 1979 Trans Am. Obviously a Firebird, but the Trans Am model. Only Trans Ams had the shaker scoop (which R* made into a blower here) and flanges around the front wheelwells not the base firebird model. Why '79 and not any other T/A from the 70s? Because although the Phoenix has Camaro-ish taillights, it also is completely black across the back section, which was only done in the late 70s. '78 had a different front end/headlights, and '80/81 (the last 2 years of 2nd gen F-body) were more commonly seen in the turbo version which had no hood scoop at all. Therefor I conclude that the Phoenix = '79 Trans Am.
