GroveStreet
I M P O R T A N T I N F O I read this from the developers in a magazine before the game came out. They were bragging they were including "revolutionary" code that kept track of how many times you failed a mission and would adjust the difficulty level if you were stuck on something. Make sure you don't keep reloading the saved game when you fail "Supply Lines." Let the game know you have failed it a bunch on times. I failed it like 40 times, got real good at the first 3!, then after I killed the last two, my fuel did not move down! I swear all the way back to roof it did not decrease. Sure seems to me the "difficulty code" is in there. NicholasMC
Interesting. This guide did not help me but I know it has helped many. I had to change the way I flew and the order of attack a few times before I finally got it, with no fuel left I was basically shaking as I was landing on the red portal hoping I would just have enough to get there. I guess I can thank Untouchable for this default path I just had to modificate it a bit. vanian
"Grovestreet" is right on the money. Just keep saving after all your failures- don't simply re-load the game before you tried the mission. Eventually the game takes pity on you and "cheats" you a little more fuel. I finally beat this sucker after the guide herein failed me a zillion times. (I called the guide "BS" which is unfair I suppose- but it sure didn't work for me!) The last courier was farther away then any attempt I had made, but I still made it back. If you can't do it, just keep messing up and saving and you'll get it: Success through failure! And thanks to whomever posted the guide (too lazy to look) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/8/#findComment-2204652 Share on other sites
jonboy
Just wanted to say thanks for the walk through for this mission. It is definatley the hardest mission in the game so far...followed closeley by the other mission that you have to do with Zero...the gattling gun mission to shoot down the RC planes...anyways thanks Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/8/#findComment-2204675 Share on other sites
Kojak1970
What's funny is there is a simple solution to the "Supply Lines" problem. 1. Make the plane refuelable. I have to admit, I tried landing back on the roof you start out on in hopes that Zero would sprint out there and give me a little more gas. 2. Give the couriers a planned out route, instead of randomly progressing through the city every time you try the mission. In either case, there should be a time limit to the mission anyway, because you're supposed to kill the couriers before they finish their deliveried. However, I killed the first 3 that are closest to Zeros shop, and waited for the other two to head towards me from the downtown area. And waited. And waited some more. Then, just for fun, I waited a little more. They never came close. Through sheer luck, I managed to get all 5 of them and make it back to the roof. Hopefully, this problem won't be in the PC version... GroveStreet
I kind of hoped there was some secret way to re-fuel the plane. I flew into a pay and spray...bummer no luck.... yea i'd say fail it a ton of times (and save the failures) till the game takes pity on you and gives you extra fuel and lines up the last two...my last 4 attempts before passing the game lined up the last two nice and close..and south near that cluckin bell....you will notice your fuel levels are totally irratic...sometimes it goes down fast sometimes hardly at all...it's some programming varible...not fixed at all. Opius
There's no mission adjust code for this mission, or any mission. I call marketing hype. Anyway, I've finally passed this mission. Total fluke. I flew west, took out the first van, then continued west to get the second van. Went east to get the guy with the uzi, then managed to line up the last van and dirtbike at the same intersection downtown. Finished with about 1/5th of my total fuel left. flyboy7
its like this... the couriers don't fire until you fire at them first. so land right behind them and fireaway. -in the first courier, start shooting the moment you take off..he'll get out of the van and he'll be dead before you hit the pavement -2nd on the bmx, land behind him and fire so he'll get off (he's invincible when on bmx) direct the plane to his direction and fire again -3rd land behind the van. it goes and the moment it blows it'd be far away from u you should have half fuel left -4th on sanchez same with 3rd. the moment it catches on fire fly to the fifth. -5th very easy. land and blow the van up. fly back to zero's roof Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/8/#findComment-2208834 Share on other sites

Pacifier
I did this mission yesterday. When 'Supply Lines' came up on the screen, I thought 'Oh sh*t', but it was quite easy. Not sure if this will help anyone, but all I did was take the first two nearest targets, fly a distance for the other two, and then return to Zero's. As far as shooting was concerned, I landed on the road and carefully lined up my target and fired away. Just relax when doing this mission; it's not as difficult as you think it is. larsli
This mission is almost like the racing mission in Mafia. People complained so much that the developers actually made a patch to the game where you could just skip the entire mission! Too bad this is not possible on the PS2! ://Darkel_thebadguy
I'm watching my brother play it for the first time right now. I got to the missions for CJ at his first garage in San Fierro, which turn to Triad missions. I also have the Zero missions, but I haven't tried them yet. Watching my brother play the mission, I don't think it'll be as hard as it seems. Don't mind me. I'm cocky, lol. morgair
i tried this method many times to no avail I did find however if you just sit just once and watch the paths the couriers take you can self destruct by pressing 0 and starting over. The exact starting posistions are slightly different but they all make the same stops so eventually they get back enroute so fly to where you know they will be eventually and just land and wait. When parked on the ground you dont lose any fuel so you can wait 10minutes if need be for the courier to arrive. Its alot better than spending 3 hours redoing the mission cause you ran out of fuel chasing them around... strangelover
Victory! The last van, in downtown, just fire away at it once it is in your sights. It does not spped away. lilary
First off, I had a hard time deciding to either post here (page six of the topic) or start a new topic with links to this topic. This is a really good topic, but one thing I haven't seen mentioned is that there are actually three different routes that are run by the 2nd van, the Sanchez and the final van. The only route you can complete is when the 2nd van follows the route show on the map at the start of this topic, but that doesn't guarantee you will still be able to get to the Sanchez and the final fan, then back to Zero's without running out of fuel. Basically, if van #2 isn't following the route on the map, take the time to fly around, but you will run out of fuel. The trick I used (after many, something like 30 + attempts) was to take out the first three targets as quick as possible. If you are lucky (or maybe it's just after so many tries I started to actually get good at flying the damn plane) you can hit van #1, the BMX guy and van #2 without stopping or back tracking as taking off seems to use a large amount of fuel. Once you have taken out the first three, head toward the final van. This is where you need to make a decision on what to do. If the Sanchez is in your flight path, or soon will be, take him out by landing and waiting. I've found that a frontal/side (about 45 degrees to the left or right) on approach works best because sometimes you'll get lucky and nail the gas tank and it explodes almost instantly. If the Sanchez isn't close to your flight path go for the final van. Watch the map and land where the van will be, park your plane and wait for him to approach a traffic light and stop. If you are lucky it won't be the first in line at the light so it will be blocked by traffic when you open fire. If you got the Sanchez, head back to Zero's as straight as possible, if not, before you take off, look to see where the Sanchez will be and try to head it off, land were it will be (unless it's in your flight path back to Zero's) and wait for it. I've done this mission both ways (Sanchez then final van, and final van and then the Sanchez) and also tested the loop without actually killing anyone to check for fuel consumption. If van #2 is a couple of blocks west of where it is on the map in on the start of this topic, you CAN NOT make it because you will run out of fuel. Just remember, it is only a game and don't get too ticked off. It's a matter of luck (actually I'm sure it's some percentage in the game code) as to which route the targets take. Be patient, and if that damn van #2 isn't on the same route shown on the map, don't just hit O to self destruct or reload, take the opportunity to fly around and get better at controlling the plane. Hope this helps as to why some people are having a hard time. I think I played 10 or 12 straight missions and never once had the vehicals follow all the routes shown on the map (van #1 and the BMX guy seem to always be the same). The target vehicals can also get hung up by 'random' events. The last time I played the mission, the final fan was suck on a crub/ramp at the hotel where you do the valet missions so it was an easy fly by kill. xjames
tried it for one hour, got frustrated when I found out I had to come back, and then I ran out of fuel... next day I read this whole topic, got back, and tried again. They key was speed, and maybe not saving/reloading when failing, but just restepping back in the circle... so after 2 or 3 aborted attempts (messed up early, self-destructed), I managed to do complete the mission. I never landed the plane.. crash landed a couple of times, tho.. killed the first 4 f*ckers with half-fuel, and went after the van.. it went kinda towards the airport. So I dive-bomb it, miss, crash-land, turn around in the ground, do a drunken groggy spray-n-pray on the van, manage to blow it up without dying in the process, and head back home. I kinda crash-land with barely a sliver of fuel left... Not very elegant, but no more frustration. Next mission, new model army, was loads of fun.. the whole thing hyped me up enough to finish all the SF missions (only had like 5 or 8 missions left), and get to LV. bottomline: as the topic contributors kept saying.. take the approach most suited to you.. be it landing and waiting, or not. things in the topic that helped me: -realizing the mission is indeed very feasable and easy for some -realizing I had to focus on the driver (not knowing that I was bullet spraying everything in sight till I got the "yay, x more to go" thingie -the "turn left towards the van immediatly after take-off shooting at the van" thing here -and the dont save/reload, but just re-step into the marker thing (dunno if the game make it easier for you or not after awhile, but its worth a shot) cheers, Alberto "Roland" J. bubba ninja
HAHA, after finishing the main missions, i did this one, thought it was hard for one try, then i retried and it worked, and no offense but i didnt use your guide, my recomendations: -i drove recressly, when i wanted to turn, i clipped off the ground for a sharper turn, i hit buildings and bounced around, guns ablazing, worked for me! i did the van at the begining, then i did the second van, then the 1st sanchez, then i drove over and got the sanchez near me with a flyby, then went trigger happy on the white van, it didnt blow up so i clipped off it, hit a wall, and "landed on the ground, still trigger happy, i got the van, right when i got it i flew at a 45 degree angle up until a reasonable hight, you decide, then made the plane point straight at Z's shop, so that i gained speed and had a straight path. and dont get tense, just relax and dont look at your fuel ever! dannyh321
Wow, I found the mission BEFORE this one much harder, I must have attempted it about 20 times. This one I did 4th time. The trick is, as the guide says, to just land on the road behind them, sneak up on them, then blow them up. Leave the 2 up north for last and you should JUST have enough fuel. optime
practice really does make perfect with this mission. thanks to the infamous "90-99% sprayed tag doesn't count glitch" I had to do supply lines a second time. It took me <12 tries this time instead of 4-5 dozen like before. I really encourage everyone who's looking for strategy advice to read this thread and get what they can out of it. IntelliCow
The webcomic Real Life has its own take on Supply Lines. This seems to be in keeping with some of our thoughts on the subject. Pants Armstrong
Man o man, this sucks. I don't mean to offend anyone but myself, but none of the advise helps on this mission. I tried everything. I can kill the 1st 3 with a fraction of fuel but just getting to the last two uses half a tank. Dumb question: Does travelling on the roads use more fuel than fly-bys? My issue is not control or shooting, its fuel consumption. How do I use my fuel the most efficiently? I always run out sometimes before the last target sometimes after. Retorical question: Why do they keep putting these stupid missions on these games, I had so much trouble with a similar one on Vice City. OGlok
wow this was the hardest mission in the game, i just beat the game and left this one alone for awhile because it was pissing me off But there is a much easier way to do it than the first guide. Not sure if anyone posted this or not (haven't read all the threads), but first go after the closest van near the park--- then take out the next van that is strait ahead after you fly over the park--- then turn around to take out the bike, at this point i had pretty much of a full tank. the key is to keep moving, and if you get good you can fly and shoot em down at the same time. don't park then shoot you'll waste gas.---Okay after you kill those three fly across town to kill the sanchez and the van, you must be efficent, because you still have to fly back to the roof top. *all and all, this mission sucked, i'm sure r* will get some hate mail for this one KEEP FLYING AND SHOOTING Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/8/#findComment-2232773 Share on other sites
RCagent
Did anyone see G4TECHTV's Xplay Review on San Andreas? Even though they gave it a 5 out of 5, they had a small segment about the mission Supply Lines which was humerous. The showed numerous scenes of the baron crashing into buildings cars and exploding with the song "Never gonna get it" playing in the background. Adam Sessler then said how he had a list of people who made this mission, and he was going to beat them with a shovel (Shows scene of CJ beating up a guy with a shovel.)
