Fuzzknuckles
This mission was easy! GO for the 3 closest to you, then the furthest one then get the middle distance one on the way back, or you'll end up chasing him on that dirtbike for ages. 7 attempts, 4 were for practice = 3 tries. Suckers. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/10/#findComment-2276069 Share on other sites

ZiggyTosh
I'm still stuck on this mission, and am trying different strategies out. So far, nothing has worked, but I'm favoring the kill-the-closest-three-then-land-and-wait strategy, because it's just a hell of a lot less frustrating that way. I kill the closest three, then land in the park and read a magazine while I wait for the other two to drive within range. I usually kill the first three with between 75-90% of my fuel remaining. The bummer is that sometimes one of the other two will actually drive out of San Fierro while I'm sitting there. One time, they both drove right up next to me, but I got all excited like a moron and I fired at the motrocycle but missed and he drove away. Several times, I've come close to beating it, but for one reason or another it didn't work out. I'm sure I'll figure it out one of these days, but for now, I just need to vent. Sooooo ... I HATE this mission. It's horrible. I don't understand why they had to make such an inconsequential, repetitive and BORING mission so stinking hard. I can understand making it hard to knock over the casino at the end. That mission is huge and cool and it SHOULD be challenging. But flying the stinking RC plane is lame and wouldn't even be fun if it was easy. It also annoys me that cheats don't work on this mission. To all you anti-cheating purists, go screw yourselves before you give me a lecture. I OWN this game. I paid for it. I DECIDE if I want to cheat or not. It's not the freakin' Olympics, for Christ's sake. The point is to have fun, and it is exactly these kinds of missions that normally drive me to cheat, precisely because they are NOT FUN. Too hard and too boring at the same time. So normally, I would pop in the slower gameplay cheat (twice!) and do everything very slowly and very carefully and then pass it within 2-3 tries. But the designers of the game have made it so that if you slow gameplay, your fuel burns twice as fast. What a bunch of idiots! Once again, I PAID for this game. I didn't pay for freaking morality lessons; I paid for the game. Cause I like to have FUN. Not because I want to learn that cheating is bad. I can get that lesson for free, thank you very much, Rockstar. They also did a similar thing, by the way, in the driving school. They made it so if you enter the slow gameplay cheat, the driving missions won't launch. However, they will actually launch about one out of every 10 tries with the cheat activated, if you just keep trying. It's annoying, but when you get to "burn and lap" and "city slicking," you'll probably see things my way. Anyway, I'm still doing Supply Lines. The hard way. I WISH I could cheat, but I can't. And I know I technically don't need to pass this mission, but I am unfortunately an obsessive sort of person and I WILL pass it. So when I finally do, and my wife has long-since left me because I've had my face glued to the screen for the last three weeks, I'm going to sue those smarta$$ programmers over at Rockstar and force them to cover my divorce lawyer fees. If you want to enforce morality, that's great. On YOUR PS2. On mine however, cheating should be allowed. Jerks. Jamlaw
I hate this mission. I've never liked any of the RC missions in any of the GTA's. This one is the worst though! It's like flying drunk. And why in the hell did they put the gun control on the same hand as the stick? i know! To piss me off! If I could skip this mission I would. Have you tried pressing L1? L1 will also fire your guns, so you can shoot with left hand and steer with right (unless you use L2/R2 to steer the plane). Tried a couple of times, but not managed to complete it yet. But some of the advice here seems pretty sensible. 1-Try not to weave around when you fly, 2-Remember that the guns auto-aim, 3-Don't chase after the last two in the North-east. Sit somewhere close and wait for them to come closer to you, 4-Sitting still uses no fuel, 5-This is NOT a timed mission! The first Zero mission was more difficult, still not sure how I managed to pass it, as I could never manage to aim very well, there was always more planes than I could handle! But isn't it all part of the fun of the game?? If it was all soo easy, then it would not be dull, and give no sense of satisfaction! Which is why I don't use cheats Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/10/#findComment-2281159 Share on other sites
pozer
I've been playing this mission for days, actually, i haven't pass it yet, but i love it 'cos i found it to be very fun and challenge to me, at least i know that i can come back to it anytime anyday as long as it doesn't deter the game advancement. I always take out all five and my fuel finishes at midway back to Zero roof. jkk
pozer, that's a pretty positive attitude. You deserve to succeed in it. It sounds to me like all you need is some more efficient flight and you'd have enough fuel to get back--the time I did it successfully, I was on fumes. jkk Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/10/#findComment-2284659 Share on other sites

ZiggyTosh
I was stuck for a very long time on this mission. The key to success is understanding that a) it IS possible and b) you should land and wait at one or two key points in the mission (you spend no fuel while you are sitting on the ground). The following strategy (derived from other comments on this forum) worked on the second try: 1. Fire at the van just below Zero's roof, but don't waste time or fuel killing him -- if you hit the van once, he will get out and follow you wherever you go. Remain airborne and move on as soon as Zero says to killt he war criminal (this lets you know he's been hit once). 2. Kill the bike messenger to the left of Zero's. 3. Turn right at the next interesection and head down the hill toward the next van. You have two options here. Fly down the hill and kill him. Or this is the first point where it may be helpul to land and wait next to the park at the top of the hill. Sometimes the van will come close enough (and while you're waiting, the first courier you hit will approach you on foot and you can waste him then without wasting a drop of fuel). Or, if the third guy is close enough, just fly down and get him and then turn around and fly toward the couriers downtown. The first courier (the one you only hit once) will continue following you wherever you go, so don't even bother worrying about him. 4. Check the map and fly to the closest of the downtown couriers (motorcycle). If you have to chase him a lot, you might waste some fuel, but this doesn't have to ruin your chances, because the next step after killing the motorcycle guy is to ... 5. Land and wait for the final downtown courier to come within a couple of blocks of you. This could take a while, but again you lose no fuel while you are waiting. If you didn't kill the first van courier (just below Zero's place) earlier, he will catch up to you on foot while you are waiting. Kill him -- no fuel spent. 6. Keep checking the map. When the final courier is close enough, fly over and get him. If you're lucky, he will drive right up next to you where you have landed in the downtown area. Once he's gone ... 7. Fly back to Zero's. No guarantee you'll succeed on the first time, but I promise it won't take more than five tries this way. Not that big a deal, really, although I do still hate Rockstar for inflicting this mission on me. ZiggyTosh
ALSO, a key point to remember is that, once you are airborne, you burn fuel at a constant rate -- makes no difference if you hold the throttle down or not. So throttle it! You will get where you're going faster, and therefore burn less fuel. d0s
Completed this mission a while ago.. working my way through the rest of the game.. but ended up succeeding on the mission after oh... 2-3 hours of pure hell. Interestingly enough, I didn't use the guide here.. I just read the thread now. Its interesting that you can land and not use fuel.. but i'm here to tell you that it is possible to play this straight up with no landing. 1) Turn to the left as you come off the building, fire as you do. If you were lined up proper the dude jumps out. Then you have a small window to aim up and kill him in. Do it fast enough and bank right following the street through the trees. 2) This leads up to the van. Hose it fast. You know you've done real well if you get it before it turns the corner left. 3) Once dead bank left, climb, and roll down the long street leading up to the cyclist. Take him out one pass and immediately climb and go left towards the two far away guys. 4) Make the long flight.. pop the guy on the left first. 5) Pop the guy on the right. 6) Pray you have fuel. 7) Turn and run for home. On my success, I literally came within 2-3 seconds of failure. There was just a sliver of fuel left and I swear to god I crapped my pants when I hit the corona. The neighbors nearly called the funny farm on me. That all being said.. it is probably better to actually land to conserve fuel. But it IS possible to do it in the air the whole way :>. -D0S Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/10/#findComment-2286318 Share on other sites

Jamlaw
Well, managed to beat this after about 25 attempts. One thing I noticed is that the route each target takes is fairly random. On one occasion, I got the first van, then the bike, and thought I'd wait on a roof at the top of the hill for the second van. But he ended up going completely the other way, and was almost at the bridge at the north of SF before I gave up and moved on! The last two targets in the north-east also seem to have wildly varying routes, and the fact that they crawl along means you have to be very patient. I think you also have to have some luck (real luck, not in-game-horsehoe-affected luck!) that the targets take good routes. I'd like to know how many attempts StuckGamer had before they posted their vids for this mission! But I have to say this mission RULES! I never once got fed up trying, and now I am a little sad that it's over. The only compensation for it being over is that I got to do Zero's last mission, New Model Army, which I thought was awesome, so much fun! I, for one, love the RC missions! CJ'S Dead Brother
Man this is the hardest and most frustrating mission, it took me over 30 tries, looking back on it I laugh at myself. I remember when I got all 5 I was happy as hell until he said now get back to the buildingbefore you run out of fuel. I had barley any left I took a look at the map and saw how far I have to go, I slammed my control down, (first time I ever did that). Then I remember one time when I made it to the buliding and over shot my landing. I yelled out loud "GIVE ME A F*CKING BRAKE GOT DAMNIT! I echoed through out the house. I been doing the missions the same way everbody was told to do it. But on my last try when I finally made it, the last 2 that was left being the motorcycle and van they came together on the same street close by the building I was to land on. I had to paused the game and calm myself, cause I knew I had it this time. Man I was glad I finally beat that mission, I was wide open driving trying my best to get to one of my save houses. subz
I agree with everyone else that this is a very difficult mission. I thought I would never be able to pass it, and skipped it to do some other missions. That damn Z on the map kept calling, and I finally returned to San Fierro to keep trying it until I beat it. The hardest part is learning how to fly the plane correctly. Once you have that down it's pretty easy. I followed the guide mostly. Taking out the guy in the van first, then killing the dude on the bike. I then flew down and sat there and waited for the other van, and held L1 while ont he street until it blew up. Then I used the street as a runway and flew to get the others. I popped the guys on the Sanchez, then the other van. Flew back to Zero's and I had fuel left to spare! I even crashed the plane once on a lightpost. I felt the second hardest part was dealing with the couriers on the Sanchez. Because if you chase it too long you burn your fuel for the return home. Just keep practicing and practicing until you beat it. After you do, then you know you can beat any of the other missions. XevaR
i ALLWAY! lose fuel on the way to the last 2 @$!holes. The plane takes off, and then keeps going up and up and up and up and...you get the point. I need to keep it from going so high and lose lots of fuel in the progress. I just simply hate this mission, and in my opinion, it ruins the whole game. Seeing you NEED to pass it to unlock the other city and mission. In the next GTA they should make it an option to do RC missions, like the vigilante ones and such.. On a diff note, i had the last van in the north stuck to a building one time. It just kept hitting the gas pedal but was stuck. So yeah, the random ways they drive sux also.. jkk
It wouldn't be a big deal if they just gave a higher fuel limit. cmc_jacob
Wtf? Stop and wait on the ground? You cant be serious? The whole way through this mission, I throttled this RC as fast as it could go without stopping. Touching the left analog slightly? Sh*t I didnt even use R2-L2, I pushed real hard LEFT and then pulled BACK real hard. With good enough timing, its easy to turn in any direction using this method. Even a complete 180 turnaround. Dont be afraid to do barrel rolls, backflips, whatever you have to do! Dont follow the streets, IGNORE THEM. Fly over buildings. Also, when your flying at a steady rate with X held down, slightly hold up on the left analog. This increases your speed. When you get get behind a bike you want to destroy, aim at the PERSON DRIVING IT. When you get behind a van you want to destroy, aim at the GAS TANK. When the car gets on fire, get the f*ck out of there before you toast your RC. If you find yourself bouncing across the road, frustrated trying to get out, be f*cking patient and REVERSE. Of course this should never happen, if you screw up even once on this mission, your f*cked. So lets scratch that. If you wreck the RC period, your f*cked, period. Press to self-destruct. If you find the plane impossible to handle, practice this mission over and over and over and over until you get arthritis in your joints for gods sake. Thats what I did. And I found there is no secret way to do this mission. This mission shows true colors. It requires skill. If you give up because you cant do it, good ridence; go play GTAVC. If you can beat that, that is. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/154331-stuck-on-supply-lines-look-here-guide/page/10/#findComment-2299788 Share on other sites
