Luke
WARNING! This post contains spoilers, if you do not wish to know what the city of San Andreas looks like, hit your browser's back button now. Alright, so since San Andreas has now been released all over the world (or it will be within the next few hours due to the time differences), I thought it was time to release some of the work that we did, with a little help from the Americans (who will remain anonymous for the purpose of this post) who were able to send us a few files. Basically, what we've done is we've produced a few maps that should help people in San Andreas to firstly navigate, and to help find some of the more difficult things in the cities. These maps are not complete, that would ruin the fun completely, mainly the Car map, It most definitely does NOT contain all of the parked cars in San Andreas, but the other maps are at least 90% complete (if we showed you everything, it would take all the fun out). Parked Vehicles Spray Tags Enlarged Spray Tags MapHorseshoes Oysters Photo Ops Properties Weapons Updated on: 17/11/2004 - Added in the spray tags map, added more credits, and redid some of the maps to include a key or a new icon. 18/11/2004 - Added an enlarged map of Los Santos with Spray tags on, and spot heights, to help you find 'em. People to worship: ST.MU, Spookie, CtlAltDel, PatrickW, Demarest, TwoZero and CyQ. God... thats a long list now. Edited August 24, 2006 by Luke adam broke it. TwoZero
Also, on the car park maps are vehicles that might be disabled at first, you may have to unlock them first (for example some heli's). Some labels might be a bit unreadable, this is generated by a program, not hand drawn it would take ages to correct everything..
DaClown
how do you unlock the planes/ heli's in san fierro? i got my license and an ace rating, but still no luck with the locked planes...

.::Burnout
Some parts on the vehicles map are confusing to tell where they are and what the name is, too cramped and bad font/lines.
TwoZero
Some parts on the vehicles map are confusing to tell where they are and what the name is, too cramped and bad font/lines. We know, as said this was generated, not hand draw.. feel free to redo it if you want. Those maps are pretty precise, we took the coords and such from the mission script and generated the text on the map out of that.
imamazed
Wow thanks you for the hard work, its extremely precise. I just tried to grab all the oysters but I realized that I only had 48/50 at the end. I counted twice all the green dots and theres 48 of them on the map. Is this intentional because you want us to go hunt the last 2? If not anyone know where are these last 2 oysters? Ill go look into that, its not something we did on purpose, ill count up the lines in the coords file I ran through my program to generate the blips onto the map, and see if theyre all in the file, if not, ill go have another look in the SCM for any other opcodes that have gone walkabouts relating to horse shoes, or oysters. Thanks for pointing it out, ill get back to you on that one, and ill double check all the other maps now I have my own copy of the game my game running in full swing. adam broke it. Luke
Is there a monster truck there? Think so, not all of the parked car generators are enabled from the start, or in some cases you theyll be locked etc, like the planes in San Fierro are mostly locked because one mission lets you into the airport without a pilot's licsnese, so they locked all the planes so you didnt get in them while on the mission. Basically, the car map is like a map of what the car parked should be like after 100%ing the game. (A few cars where missed off the map because they were using variables for their locations, and when reading the SCM in hex, its very difficult to start dealing with the variables etc, far easier when a decompiler and compiler are made.) adam broke it. DigitalD
We really have to make a nice big flash map of San Andreas and have all these things shown. http://www.gtasanandreas.net/map/
RimaZ
Is there any way to get it to a printable size, cause i wanna use the tag map, and it's too big for even 2 A4's...
Luke
Im gona start some work on some prettier maps I think, and the flash map doesnt sound like a bad idea, but thats not something I can do, Im no good with flash. Ill make sure the new ones dont overlap or anything, and maybe some more info when it comes to the cars could be added. Btw, as far as I know, I dont think any of those maps have spray tags marked on them, I think its camera snap shots, oysters, and horse shoes, Ill go do some experimenting now I can. EDIT: Someone pinned, cheers. Edited November 1, 2004 by Smithers2 adam broke it.
imamazed
Yep, the green dots are the oysters, blue are the horseshoes and red are the snapshots. I found the map of the tags somewhere on this forum but I can't remember where. I saved the file on my disk tho so here it is: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v292/slogun6/lossantos.jpg I don't know who did the tags map but cheers dude, I found them all with the map (and I saved so much time by using the jetpack to do this @Smithers2: Any news on the 2 missing oysters? Im about to go on the snapshots + horseshoes quest so I will tell you if everything is accurate
Luke
@Smithers2: Any news on the 2 missing oysters? Im about to go on the snapshots + horseshoes quest so I will tell you if everything is accurate It appears that some of the colours on the dots are wrong I think, so what might be marked as an oyster or something, may actually be something else (most are right, just the odd one or two). Thats one of the reasons why they need a remake, we made these maps a while back, before any of us had properly looked round the city, so we didnt figure these things at first. adam broke it. imamazed
Ive done all the snapshots today using the map, it was very fast, took me about 1-2 hours (the tags are such a pain)! You were right Smithers, the blue dot number 50 is actually a snapshot and not a horseshoe and number 100 is not a snapshot, im pretty sure that its one of my missing oysters.. Ill check this out tomorrow with the horseshoes.
Saiyu
hmm, I tried going to quite a few of those weapon spots and can't find the weapons as listed. The weapons map is the same as the strategy guide, so I can't see it being wrong, has anyone else had this problem, or do they appear later in the game?? pnomaster
Hey guys, props for the work your doing on the maps up there but can anyone post that original map used withouth any car or tag locations? Just the bare map. I plan on doing the same thing as you guys but with way more details...im also gonna do the same thing with the fold-out map that comes with the game. Ill probably post my version once im done. Hopefully i can fit every single thing in one map. wish me luck

TheKingPin
I just cant see how I could go around on that tag map and collect all those because the blue circles are so large it could be anywhere in that vicinity... No offense.

TheKingPin
Why does it say that there is over 100 snapshots and have all the numbers jumbled?
BlackStar2k
Hello, this is my first post, I've updated the map, all numbers can be read now. number 100 is an oyster, number 50 is a snapshot. All oysters are there except for oyster number 126, it's not listed on this map. Can the original author please check where the program dumps this oyster location? Thanks. Also, I've updated the map with all the tag locations from the map on the link posted in this topic. The person who's updating it : no need, mine's done now, I just need Oyster #126. Currently the map is a 7 MB BMP file, and since I'm at my work, I cannot upload it/convert it to JPG (I've been editing it for the past few days) Yesterday we got all the horseshoes, horseshoe #9 is tricky, it's in the train tunnel. The locations on the map are 100% correct (ok, I know, it was ripped from the datafile, but still, 100% accurate) The tag location may be off a bit, but I tried to be as close as possible. I will post it tomorrow.
