@Chagerbandit honestly I do remember and your work was and is still greatly appreciated.

 

@undertaker freak well I'd say 10% done if I were to be realistic.

 

considering that no map work has been completed,the fact that we are adding in "Mad Max Fury Road" to the mix and have people working in the background on upgrading much of the work that's done into being useful and looking pretty in GTA IV and possible GTA V when it hits pc. our work is very much ahead of us.

 

modeling wise we have a lot done. but we need skinners and we need tech people to get the models ingame. otherwise that 10% is all we will ever have.

 

I am working hard on getting people to help out with the things I am unable to do myself. so stay tuned. as I work to get us up to a higher percentage. will post new work soon.

some hope. New work right now. taking a break from thunderdome so that I can work on the Green Dart car that bites it hard when the mack is being taken back to the compound.

don't have much time each day so don't expect major updates on this or any other model but I'll work hard on my end. as we count down to mad max Fury Road.

I admire you dedication. Having just skimmed through this topic, I'm still not very clear on how you intend to release your work. So ignore my suggestion if it fundamentally conflicts with your plans.

You clearly have a passion for working on your dream and I'm sure it would mean a lot to you to see people enjoying and discussing your mod. Although I wish you the best regards for the future of this mod, honestly, I think the release of Fury Road in May will not satisfy your expectations.

I am not the first to tell you this, but you should definitely be more focused on this for yourself in the first place. Further putting emphasis on what has been said before - mods, in contrast to actual published games are definitely not expected to be paid for. It's just not likely to happen in any context (although there are exceptions). The bottom line is, as much as I hate acknowledging this fact, the GTA modding community is not what it used to be. Just like everything else, it is evolving but it will never again be what it was when you started this topic.

You might have to go against your own principles if you ever confront the fact that besides working on this for yourself, you lack feedback and recognition to continue and stay motivated. The quality of your work is definitely top notch, and if you were to individually release some of your models for GTA IV & SA upon completion on popular GTA-modding sites (maybe gtainside), you could quickly build up interest in the project as a whole. The release of the movie could provide a great opportunity to do exactly this. Again, if you are releasing content and I missed out on something, ignore my suggestion. But if not, in my opinion, you should start now!

Either way, keep doing what you enjoy and good luck!

@Speccy you make a great point here. no joke no saracsam. I mean that. But I wish to point out a few things. 1. I have no expections for the release of Mad Max Furry Road. or rather my expectations are that it will effect this mod very little if at all because that's how this mod's history has gone. but you make a valid point about it and who know stanger things have happened. 2. I have some people working in the background on mods that should be released soon. one is working on GTA IV mods and the other is working on our current mode of games here with gta sa and maybe vc. 3. I do have passion for this mod. it comes and goes and being a depressive doesn't help me any as at times I am just too depressed to work on the mod and the lack of a team to finish mods faster and get them out to the public doesn't always help. The Subject matter is also a major road block because if we don't things like "the driver side being on the correct side because this models are ausitalian" then I get cussed out by AU fans who think I am trying to "Americanize" a property like mad max.

 

so many times,as you've no doubt read,it's just been the best for me to walk away for a while and get myself together. people want these mods a lot and yet help isn't what it used to be.

 

and finally I really want to just address the idea I put out of injecting money into modding. For the life of me I still do not understand why people are so mad at me for trying to move modding forward. Yes this isn't a job. I get that. but so many people quit mods and I am willing to put good money on the reason being that there is no money in it. and this means you have to have drive and passion or you won't succeed. and for so many that's not enough. they have families and they bills to pay and so much else that takes them away from what could be glorious if they could get paid for their work. hell people who make models just in general can get paid for their work on sides like "creativecash","Tourbosquid",and "3DExchange". but often you cannot use your work for games then. so it's either do a model for months and get paid or do a model for months and release to mostly jeers at people who want your model but aren't willing to put up the work to do it themselves.

 

You can say I am barking up the wrong tree and I get that and it's cool. but why is bringing money into this a dirty thing now. no one has honestly explained to me why making mods into a way to make some cash on the side for your time and effort is a bad thing. cause at the end of the day my experience outside this forum has been more hate male then a simple thanks. but if I had small amount of money waiting for me I might feel like I've done something for once. and sure this is just me. this is all subjective but so far the reasons given are subjective too. I want an objective reason why it's so taboo to make a buisness where you can get paid to mod.

 

I await your answer but it's ultimatley meaningless on most fronts as no one is willing to jump start this idea. that's their choice. I just think we could do better.

 

Anyways working on the new model and I want to finish off here by saying that your post was a welcome one. it made me think of a lot of angles on everything going on and I do appreciate your input. it's best I've gotten in a long time now. so thank you Speccy.

It brings a smile to my face, hearing that my post has given you some food for thought.

After all, my post was solely for the purpose of discussion. I definitely see where you are coming from.
I just think it's quite simple, where there is demand, there is supply. The question of bringing money into it is by no means a 'dirty' subject matter, I just don't see there being a 'market' for mods. In contrast there is a huge market for video games. For example, even counterstrike started off as a mod for half-life and was taken outside the small modding community, becoming a standalone game and selling millions of copies worldwide. I haven't looked into it's history, but I'm quite sure by the time they started making any revenue from the title, the 'free' mod had already been around quite some time and had established a significant fan base. There was demand, which came from the thousands of downloads and people quickly spread the word. The divine reward was not the money, it was the recognition the mod was getting. Had they not released their work, people wouldn't have had the incentive to contribute for the development of something even if it had great potential.

I apologize if I might sound obnoxious here. You know you have a talent, and it can by all means earn you some money. You would have to look for a modeling position in a video game company. If I had your experience, I would definitely not hesitate. If you've been doing this for so long as a hobby, it definitely wouldn't harm to try your luck.

Don't know where you're at with your life, so my suggestion might be unreasonable. I'm just looking at it from the money-making perspective and this would be a promising option to consider.

you know,what you've said here is probably the best explaination to the entire thing and I honestly applaud you for it. you make so much more sense then many who just said they didn't think my idea was a good one and pretty much left it at that. but you really nailed it.

 

I may try to still come at this,but from a different angle in the future and see if I can make it work,but on different terms. but that will be someday in the future if ever.

I've Actually Thought long and hard about what Speccy has said in his two posts. and even as work continues on these cars I've had to take some really hard looks in the mirror and ask me why I am doing all this anymore.

 

In many ways it's taken time to Realize that Speccy is pretty right on a long of things. When I close my eyes I can see these models out on the virtual road. it makes me smile and makes me lust for it be real. as real as all the other projects I've been doing over the years,some of which you don't even know about. but by days end do I see me being able to truly finish up all the movies with sets and characters and the like? the answer is a solid I doubt it.

 

No one will fault me for hanging in this long. and I thank so many of you for sticking with me through it. So what am I about to say? Well the short answer is this mod will close down. I know what I've said in the past about coming back to finish this to the enth degree. and to be honest I ment every last word of it. but how realistic is it? In the end it's not very realistic at all. and to push on for another 5 maybe 10 years..for what exactly?

 

there is no real answer to give to that. sure I'd have a lot of neat models but then what? now for the long answer.

 

Does this mean I am ceasing production of current and future models? well yes and no. I think making something from each movie is my new goal. beyond that

I think the rest of the models I have yet to fully start will lay as they are. so

1.the green dart car will get finished.

2.The Desoto will be created.

3. the no front fender statesmen will be finished up.

4.the big monster truck from thunderdome will get finished.

5.and I feel it only right to finish up the start I have on max's truck.

6.the train is also going to be finished because I have too much invested in it to stop it now.

7.lastly the silver interceptor

8.as well as the Fury road edtion mad max interceptor will be made.

9. finish the tanker trailer

 

All other models are here by canceled but I'll make model files available for anyone who wants to pick up from where I left off. scene wise the compound will be finished off with new detail added anyone who wants to put it into a map is welcome to the finished mesh when completed.

 

the rest of the work will go towards working with my skinners more closely to get the models that are done. skinned and out to you. this will leave so much of the mod unfinished but we'll have some releases to give to you as a going away present.

 

anything that is high enough poly to be transfered over to GTA IV and possibly GTA V will be.

 

and well anything we can get off the mad max game (provided that it's still coming out and honestly I don't think it is. since I've heard more about Just cause 3 then I have of mad max. I'm afraid it's vapor ware but I am hoping I am wrong. but I'd be almost shocked if we ever hear about this game ever again. and it's a shame too.) but the point is if it comes out we plan to pull as many assets out as we can and will use them in our mods as well. but again this is optional as it's not likely we'll see the game released at all.

 

and so that's my final word on this. I plan to make mods till I die. and I'd hope said mods will make their way to releases in the future as I have so much fun stuff for you all to drive that is being made.

in the movie you don't see the front end on the car as it approaches to crash site. there's a reason for that. the first cash failed and it ended up breaking the pontiac front end. they couldn't repair it in time so they had to just take the parts off and do a second run. flub or not this will be a part of the cars damage I

plan for you to be able to break the front end off and drive with it like it is in the film. so once the front end grille is complete I'll make a damaged version that can break off like what Carface does with a lot of his cars. this will make the authenticity of the car that much more.

 

I hope to have updates for you coming soon on skinned models. for now I hope you'll take this post in the spirit it was ment and we can move forward towards a natural end to this mod and the begining of new works for other games.

progress always moving forward. the main nose cone from the bonniville is complete. I need to do the grille frame and then lace it with the wire mesh as per the movie. but beyond that,fixing a small detail leading up to the engine bay and making the damaged version of this from end. it's almost complete.

from here I plan to work on the side front fenders before working my way back to the back of the car and such.

this is been my best attempt at this car since I made the mistake of trying to use an american charger for my first model. this one will be what the fans expect of a car from this movie. so keep moving forward.

front end is almost completely honestly it needs the chin spoiler,and the wire mesh for head light covers then I can start on more of the car. I got the radiator done as well as editions to the front nose cone to engine bay lay out. and have started a little on the single right side side mirror which I finished as you can see here. it will be damageable as will all the parts connected to the door as you've come to know them.I also know what I'll do for the front end. I was playing with Carfaces cars and I noticed how he does breakable front ends. so this front end,when complete,will be a part of the front end. the headlights will be stock chrysler on chrysler but will be broken off with the side finders as carface is apt to do or possibly it'll be part of the bumper so that you can drive around with the lights off as seen in the final run of the car in the film. we'll see when we get that far. anyways here's how she looks now. the front end is all one color because it's all one piece now so don't be thrown off by that it's what it's supposed to be.

I got the wire mesh laid in for the nose cone. don't worry I used plain one sides surfaces for the mesh so it's not a poly whore. I may add detail to the mesh such as missing parts but getting a clear vision of the mesh in general off the movie isn't something that can happen. often,due to the sped up nature of the filming the cars are blurry when they'd be most visible for detail. and now that I've lost my contact who has behind the scenes photos (thanks 2014) I cannot say that I'll ever fully know. so this all done to the best of my ability.

 

that said I've noticed a detail most people miss about the chin spoiler and it's supports the Chrysler X Chrysler as being the model use for main body. the chin spoiler doesn't simply jut out from under the nose cone. there are actually two slots with a divider between them on which the chin spioler is grafter. this detail is found on the front underside of the Chrysler x Chrysler CH but not found on any of the Valiants. not that I needed further confirmation but I can see the detail in other shots I have of the car and it's clear to me that needs to be models right to be accurate and so it shall.

 

as stated my main goal right now is getting the nose cone and hood assembly right because they need to be damaged and broken off for us to get that movie look. the headlights will be twin headlights because I feel that I can see both headlights from the original chrysler x chysler ch in the stills that we have from the non blurry scenes of the car itself. so these will also be a focus of mine as I work to to perfect this car to the best of my ability. point is stage one,the front end is almost completed. soon I can start working on futher details from the car itself using photos of the car as it is now..rotting on a stuntman's lot,baking in the sun,with most of it's parts striped out. sadly this glorious car has been sold off peice by peice and is almost unrecognizable. I'd show you photos but I made a promise and Intend to keep it. anyways here's the latest shot of the front end.

work has been slow to none existant and I have no real excuse right now I have paid artwork I am doing but it's more then that. it's been hard to keep going on some levels. so for now I am on break from any modeling as I work on other things. but it doesn't mean I won't keep at this. infact that's part of why I am posting here at all.

 

Mad Max the game is still happening! and from what I've seen of the game as it is now I am very excited for the pc release. Now I don't have a pc capbable of running it myself but there is a pc port still coming out. and this means that all the nice and interesting models of the game will be available. as for the game here

is the TL'DR of the game itself.

 

1. dinki di will be a health item so it's in the game.

2. this is to take place before fury road but it's not really cannon even though George Miller has worked deeply with this game and their crew. as this is them telling

their own version of mad max.

3. you can steal any maurader car that isn't blown up. hell even if the wheel is torn off you can still drive it.

4. you have dog. at least in the begining no word on how or if dog is in the game as part of the mechanics

5. gas will play a role but it won't be so scarce as to make you walk more then you drive.

6. you can drive off the edge of the game map and you will be rewarded with rare parts but there are also horrible storms not unlike what we

see in fury road. so there is much reisk but also much reward.

7. max is still max. he's still cold and will mostly only help if it helps him in some way.

8.you use a flare gun to summon Chumbucket who will drive the car if you drive another car or you walk a long distance away from the magnum opus

9. there are hundreds of ways to cusomize the car but you will need to balance what you upgrade lest the car be too pwoerful to handel well.

 

more details will arise closer we get to september 1st which is the release date for this year for this game. if the pc version ends up being modable then you better believe our models will make thier way to the game.

Looks like this mod is dead.Yeah you guys relased pictures of car models but no DL's. Ok few on FB.

 

released mod wise this mod is kinda dead yes. but model wise no. I have laid out the last 9 models I plan to finish off for this mod before I stop modeling for it all together. if that's not satisfactory enough for you then I am sorry but if no one will help me skin and release these models then there isn't a lot I can do about that.

 

That said I may have someone to skin most of our back work but only for GMod on steam. it's not much but it's a start and maybe someone out there will be able to convert the skinned models for gta. will post works when they are done on that front. the rest is up to you the fans. if you want more releases I need help period.

I promised you all some progress and I have some to show you. as of late I've been really having issues working on the more complicated models. for some you might not understand this but for others you'll get my meaning so I want very much to start a model I can have finished and out to you sooner then later. so I started a model I wasn't sure about but it's a much needed mod cause we have none of the official dune buggies done and someone took one of the Call of Duty buggies and slapped the ironcross on it and called it a mad max buggy.

 

That pissed me off. so I decided to do something about it. so here is my current work. I don't fully understand the full structure cause no one has better refs then this right now so a lot of this will be guess work but I can promise you this will look 100% better then just slapping an ironcross decal on a call of duty buggy.

 

Lastly I want to explain again that I am doing a lot of guess work here. I don't know the full shape of the box on top of the roof rack for instance. but I am doing my best for you all. also the front frame structure is a stand in. as you can see in the refs I'll post here the front frame I got now isn't accurate and it's throwing part off the modeling process but I'll correct it soon. thing is I have limited bandwidth now we are in very shakey finacial situation right now so I am doing my best with what I have but I hope to update you more soon.

so right now this is my focus and will be my focus because the rest of this is wheels,engine,interrior and frame and those shouldn't take too long tbh. by months end I hope to have this model completed. and then back onto Green Gun car and then move onto the Desoto as I really want to get that one going again.

 

my updates will be very sporatic but they will come till my check list is done after that the only updates we'll post are actual releases.

 

I know GTA V just hit. I know the DRM for now means no modding out of the box. but it's coming I know it will. and when it does we'll be there. as much as we can be. stay tuned.

work continues.

 

I redid the box to give it more of a bottom,it just felt unfinished to me then again I don't know what that box was in real life and sadly lost my source for such things.

 

I went back to carefully screenshot road warrior and found all the scenes where the Buggy was in. I discovered a lot about the structure of the buggy in general as well as it's engine and such. point is there is still some guess work to be done but most of it is mentally mapped out.

 

I put the back tank that is mounted behind. the tied up matress. then I made one of the many off shoot tanks that I think work as a makshift water cooler for the engine. not sure but I can confirm that it's there in almost all the buggies that use the VW buggy engine.

 

right now I am working on the next difficult part of the model,the engine and back axel assembly my main focus is on getting it done so that I can move onto the less difficult build parts. thanks to GTA V and the Bf Injector for engine and back axel assembly as they are accurate to what I researched the assembly to be. after this I'll work on the jerry cans because they are part of this vehicle too. last bits will be the frame mostly.

 

Also working on remaking and improving the Crossbow we used to have but lost long ago. need to make the bow string,the bolt,trigger gaurd and lastly the fold up sight. this model is mostly based off the Gyrocopters version. there were several different versions of the crossbow through out the film I'd make them if I felt there was any interest beyond just one of them being done. and I don't feel there is so I won't waste my time. now this I have some ability to get ingame but would still need a texture artist to finish it.

 

so here is the update. contacted my texture artists waiting for any updates there.

also repositioned the spare wheel holder as I noticed it was a bit lower down when looking at what side shots I could get of the buggy. if only some shots had more focus I would have the perfect shots of the buggy but oh well we work with what we have.

after looking over the promotional materials for Fury Road and looking at the close up art from the new game out in september I decided to hold off on any work on a newer interceptor till the pc game comes out. this will allow to aquire a slightly more professionally made interceptor as well as better refs for engine parts on the silver interceptor.

 

I am ressurecting the earlier idea of the interceptor varients. remake mad max 2 interceptor so that it's all our work. make the mad max 1 interceptor as well and the move onto the fury road varrients which will all be scratch built using the game models as refferneces. but I will convert over,or someone will, the game model as a straight port because it's a variant all it's own it's a mixture of fury road and mad max 2. I am also throwing in at least two other variants. one is from the batman comics as I love what they did with the interceptor as a batmobile and that's just too good to pass up. the other is to do the one from the beta of stuntman 2 as that would be so easy to do when the basic interceptor body is done.

 

so where am I at now? the crossbow is done! as far as modeling. I could release it as a mod without a skin cause I still remember how to put guns ingame. Charger Bandit seems MIA so as far as skinning all the old mods I have no clue if that will ever happen at this point. and I wish I was joking about that. buggy engine is done and installed since these ran on vw buggie kits in the movies. lastly i've started a lord humongus HD remake of his scoped pistol. without further adue here is the work visually.

now you may recognize the engine. it's from the BF INJECTOR from GTA V as they both use the exact same engine. doing that engine taught me a lot about how to approach different shapes and what not,in a more proffessional way.

the good news in general is that with that VW buggy engine done as well as the front end suspension assembly means I can now make another one of the buggies too since those are generally two of the harder compnents to make so I plan to make one other buggy after this and then quit while I am ahead buggy wise.

 

from here I have the interceptors to do and I am still going to work hard on those thunderdome trucks and work to finish up the green dart car since I have a good start on it as we speak. one of my goals this week infact is to remake the dart gun from the ground up using a lot of what I learned from rockstars own models. I know I can do better and it will mean a better gun for the green dart car at least.

 

I hope one day to have these out on the virtual roads for you. if not then I am going to tried to recruit Mod DataBase for help with getting these into as many games as possible. if that fails then at the end of my run on this mod (which is coming up after all) then the models will be put up on like turbosquid for sale for modelers who have the same passion as I do and have the money to pay for models. though mine won't be that expensive I am not so pro that I could charge pro prices. but I think I could put them up for a decent ammount and make some pocket change at least.

To the fans who still check this thread out. I want to assure you that work has been done. and I would be posting more about but I was blocked due to issues with bandwidth on my network. Long story that need not be gotten into.

 

I will post pictures of my progress along with a more detailed report later today (sunday 7th of june) to get you all up to speed on the hard work I have done thus far.

 

This I will say is that both the Ironcross and the orange rail buggy are done mesh wise so I can cross them off the list for the final mods for this conversion. I am deciding now which of the other mods I want to invest time in but, after watching Fury Road I honestly am going to make a lot of those vehicles for you all to ride in probably starting with Furosia's war rig.

 

in the meantime our background modder has actually been very hard at work on something that premiered recently in GTA IV for lost looking for a high poly mad max 1 interceptor then go to this link here: http://www.gta4-mods.com/vehicles/1973-ford-falcon-xb-gt351-coupe-f31700

 

the author had been gifted our mods when he joined in secret and did actually upconvert our old fords from all over the mod. and while they looked decent they were not up to par with GTA IV's higher poly counts and looked a bit out of place. thankfully our little background modder has been hard at work rebuilting or scratch building additions to our goal of bringing these mods to the HD universe for even more fun in the HD wastelands of GTA. but he will out of comission for a while on personal matters.

 

which brings me to I guess the end goals of it all. While I am working to make sure I have meshes ready for the SD GTA's such as vice city and san andreas I am ultimately trying to make this mod live on and on and on through the higher poly gaming. while I did make a list of vehicles and one set peice to be made to close out the mod here I will be always trying to make these cars from all the movies. and while I do so love you SD gta players and your devotion to this mod I will always be working towards a future where mad max is also in the HD games so that it can have even more new life to it.

 

so while I've done all the buggies I care to and can scratch it off this mods bucketlist. don't think I'll ever stop working on these mean machines. and in september I hope to do some straight convertions of the mad max the game fury road accuarate mods as well as I guess some mods of the vehicles people might want in general from the mad max game-verse.

 

I've said more then I intended to but I'll show you the progress I made personally and we'll keep pushing on from there.

I learned a lot about poly from stoying the engine on the buggies for GTA V. infact the engines on these buggies (along with a lot of the basic rail parts) were modeled after the efficent use of poly by the rockstar team. that said all you see is work that is all mine nothing taken nor barrowed I made every poly of what you see here.

 

The rail cart came in at just over 39k poly and the ironcross was a little heavier at 54k poly but that's not too terribly bad when consider a lot of cars out there start at 100k poly. thought some details shown here were mostly for movie accuaracy but can be sacaficed for the lower systems such as the bow on the back of the railbuggy and the bed roll tie down of the ironcross buggy.

 

both have the chassis_vlo but no shadow for sa yet. but that won't take long to make when I or my future teamates go back into make these work and look pretty for you all.

 

as said I am not sure what new model or old model I want start up. most likely I'll be working to make a decent poly war rig that furosia drove in the movie as I think it will be a nice challenge to keep her on a poly diet while making her look as bad ass as she was in the movie.

 

I took my son to see Fury road opening day and that movie man it tore our faces off. it was incredible that we were on an adrealine high for like hours after. my son usualy talks to me through the movie (he whispers I raised him better then that) but he was quiet as hell during the movie cause he was blown away. says it's one of his favorite movies of all time if not thee. so needless to say a blu-ray is already considered purchased when it comes out. I'll be posting as I go making more regular updates thanks for your patience everyone but now I have access to the forums again we back in buisness.

That good idea generally, I can give you some of my works, female skin also. But I think you need a good team, you should collect modders, cause fully by yourself you will do mod too long. And firstly will good finish mod to san andreas, cause for gta 4 or gta 5 is no good, cause I dont saw good mods with new map, new mission, and new peds total. You have many good cars models, but why last models still without textures? And what about new map idea? About me, I can help with car, peds and weapons (riggin, texturing and some scratch models).

I want to be excited about this and jump up and down because if you are serious Then you've made my year,not even joking.

 

why am I alone right now doing cars and almost nothing else? Well, not to jinx it but this mod seems to carry what seems to be a curse. Not saying I believe in such things but if you go back to page one I had a team and we got things out like it was no ones buisness. but eventually the team evaporated till it was mostly just me and Soul Couragous doing everything. but eventually even he had to leave for his own reasons.

 

over the years people have come to me saying they can help me get this cars on the virtual road. they seem serious and I believe they were serious but after a few e-mails or skype calls they seem to just go away and never speak to me again. and I don't mean that to sound like we have fights far from it. people just stop working on this at times and I never hear from them again.

 

so I am used to hearing people want to help and when I start to get to work they stop and I get left in the dust with all this work left undone.

 

So if you get even one model done and on the road You will have my respect for life cause people are interested in this mod but they count it out because we have next to no releases.

 

So let's talk shop on what you asked about cause I have answers.

 

CARS: I can model. I can't rig I can't texture. so if you can do that I can take care of the modeling and we can get vehicles out

 

MAP: I do have plans to fix up and finish the oil refinery compound as a map piece people could go to. the model I have no is incomplete and needs a lot of work on the tire wall to say the least. to get it working I need someone with knoweldge of the SA map tools and someone who can rig and skin the finished model. cause we'll need to spawn the bus I plan to do at the compound so that we can open the gate bus by driving it back and fourth. and maybe find it on the map. I'd be willing to entertain the idea of doing more map parts if we can find a map expert.

 

but as it stands now I have no plans beyond finishing the compound and then that's it cause I don't know how to get the mesh into the map.

 

WEAPONS: I can get the crossbow I made into the game cause that I still remember but I need a texture artist for those too. I am willing to do more weapons from the original and even some from the new movie FURY ROAD.

 

Now that said. I've been working on this mod for more then ten years off an on. even when I wasn't posting here I was still working on the cars. but as you've pointed out all I have is a bunch of cars and not much to show for it. If you can put these on the road and in the skies then I will release my models to you for that. now you ask why am I closing up shop. well cause I cannot seem to,as you put,collect modders.

 

User Speccy really asked me a tough question about how much would I see as enough and what point do I stop updating a mod that won't happen and he was right at the time. So I figured I'd do the mods I wanted to do most in life and quit it there a testiment to passion of me and my original team and a testiment to my love for mad max.

 

But you've said two things that caught my attention. 1. you might also do some modeling yourself for the mod. and 2. you can rig and texture these beasts. If you can do one of these then we can at least move the car part of this conversion forward. but if you can do both then it would take some of the weight off my shoulders and I could focus more on map parts.

 

I could be talked into doing more cars then just my bucket list cause you've expressed a want for more cars then just what I'll be doing. I can do that if I have more then just me doing this. if it's just me then the mods shut down list will stand. but you and I are doing it I'll do more and I keep what I am doing in San Andreas.

 

So take some time. think about. we have a lot of back vehicles needing some love that were finished but never able to be put on the road. we'd have a lot a work ahead of us. but if you can make a commitment and keep it. I can work on doing more. I have plenty of refs. I have plenty of documentation. I just don't have the manpower to keep this mod going to a total conversion status at this time. but you'd be enough to help keep this mod going a lot longer.

 

if You in. I'll give you my e-mail and I'll send you my cloud host for my raw models. all the models have photo refs to show you what to do for textures. but if you can do the finish work then I'll push my limits. let me know man let me know cause I want to be excited about this again and most of all for you who stuck with me this long I want some releases real releases.

sorry for the lack of updates at the moment. I am having to go back and figure out what I do have done vs almost done or started.

 

I am now hosting the buggies in my folder for the mod helpers. I am working to get the crossbow rigged for SA and try to get it working in VC as well. I have to go back to my old pc to grab the Thunderdome Plane since it's as ready as it gets. at least unless maybe I partner with a modeler who can help me get the body of the plane up to snuff cause that body isn't as perfect as I had hoped. otherwise it'll be skinned and released as is and after that we can make it happen one way or another.

 

Now those of you looking at the messages above. I am very optimistic but I am not excited yet. I do believe we have people who are interested in finishing this mod or even continuing it. but those who've been here since know the curse that seems to be hang over this mod. the very random events that seem to happen to anyone who tries to help this mod complete itself.

 

For those who haven't I'll go a little more indepth. I had a team. some stuck with me to the end like soul courageous. but a some of them litterly left because World Of Warcraft took over their lives and attention. the rest just...vanished. I am guessing they didn't want to tell me they were out so they stopped returning my pm's. Soul Courageous is a friend so I won't go into detail as to what happened in his personal life but things deteriorated for him and his life and he couldn't continue the work we started.

 

then along came a name most people despise. Ascendance. he's burned bridges here and pissed on the ashes but he talked me into bringing road warrior and mad max over to his forums. which I did. and for a time he and his team actually did some good. I have photos of working beta models that were drivable in GTA SA including the lord humongus truck. no skinning but at least we had working models.

 

I lost my computer several times over including a lot of progress in modeling. it's a miracle that half these models survived at all. all the while Ascendance and his team had a private server where I could upload files and they could upload them right back to me. I lost track of the site.

when I came back Ascendance had burned his own bridges on his own forums and let the site to crash and burn. I have no idea where Ascendance is now. but he did help me for a time.

 

Hungarians came in and they did finish up our road warrior interceptor only to have it stolen many times over (much like my scratch built mack that was my first major contribution to this mod) eventually I the hungarians too had computer troubles and had to drop out. I never heard from them ever again.

 

I fell away from this forum due to time and just life. in that time someone else started a mad max mod and got,in some ways,farther then I had. when asked if they would team up with me and my work they said "I've seen his work and it's low poly garbage" which might be so (I won't go into the details as to why the models were low poly 10 years ago let's just say the person in question on this forum displays a wealth of ignorance) what bugs me most is the assumption that I am incapable of higher poly models. that I cannot do more if let off the leash of computer limitations. but they eventually fell away and won't return my messages asking for an honest team up.

 

the last guy to help me skin,lost his computer.lost his job and last I heard he was writing to me from an internet cafe in spain on his way to an unknown future. he was one of the most skilled skinners I had ever seen. we almost had a really beautiful mad max 1 impala skinned to perfection.

 

after that it's been a string of people who've I've skyped with who have promise me they had the means or the team to get this mod done. all have just stopped talking to me. there was a moment when I had expert help from another dispised name Kotton. but he's a bully. and when I did what he asked me to do he then turned it around on me to make me look like a scum bag when I had done nothing wrong. he,as many of you already know,is a scum bag who's help comes at the price of him getting to basically push you around and try to make you feel small,all while claiming he's the wronged party because all he does is help people and all they do is sh*t on him. he's a pure grade asshole and I hate to talk smack but I've delt with his kind before and this mod wasn't worth my dignity to work with Kotton. course he'd tell it differently. but I not worried about a he said,he said conflict because I find most people here don't like Kotton either.

 

History lesson over with.

 

hopefully now you can see my apprehension when it comes to thinking that this mod will ever be complete. the newest contender himself has reported computer troubles. do I believe in curses. no I don't honestly believe in such things. do I believe that something is happening here,yes cause there comes a point where some of this can be easily explained but a lot of it really can't and it's getting to the point to where it doesn't surprise me if people dissapear or their computers break down or all the other strange things that have lead us here.

 

so for now. at least until the first new mod is skinned,rigged and released I am sticking to my original mod bucket list. which is as follows.

 

1.the green dart car will get finished. (road warrior.mad max II)
2.The Desoto will be created. (road warrior.mad max II)
3. the no front fender statesmen will be finished up. (road warrior.mad max II)
4..finish the tanker trailer (road warrior.mad max II)
5. the compound set piece from MAD MAX II (road warrior.mad max II)
6.the train is also going to be finished because I have too much invested in it to stop it now. (Mad max Beyond Thunderdome)
7. the big monster truck from thunderdome will get finished (Mad max Beyond Thunderdome)
8..Max's thunderdome truck (Mad max Beyond Thunderdome)
9.the Fury road silver interceptor (Mad Max Fury Road)
10.as well as the Fury road edition mad max interceptor will be made (Mad Max Fury Road)
11. at least two of the dune buggies from mad max II the road warrior.
this is where the official mod stands till I see progress enough to open the mod up even more. I'll always be working on mods not listed here but unless progress actually happens these 10 are the count down to the end of the mod as it stands. though fury road is amazing and many of her vehicles will be worked on.
now the more important buisness. beyond getting some lose ends of the old mods made before tied up. what is my progress now. well it's a dual modeling job I am taking on I am restarting the thunderdome train truck now. and I am working on a special project of the fury road furosia war rig. I know the rig isn't listed on the board but it's what I am interested in doing and I have to go with my interests of modeling of this mod suffers. so hopefully this gets us all,and new comers alike, on the same page.
