[WIP]Road Warrior Mod For San Andreas

sorry for the double post but need to bump my topic for it to be seen.

 

anyways got good news ,better news and then bad news. good news is i know how to dummy a 3 axeled vehicle and an unarmored beta tanker trailer is already done.

also isolated the biker cop and started making him into the bad cop player model some of it goes well the mask came out well but other elements still need work. and yes that is a cod peice.

 

also figured out throught not only the bandito but also the kart that a vehicle needs neither doors nore bumper nore a trunk to work so that makes dumming up poppagelos car that much easier. got the armored tanker trailer closed to being done. still need to make that car back that is moutned in back,a gas spout cover, and some armor for the wheels which may or may not come off still lookign into breakable armor.

 

better news got 3 items into SA beta today,the wez bike,the red xa,the unarmoerd tanker trailer.

 

now the bad news. due to problems with the exporter part of the plugin for 3d max none of the dummied up propperly named meshes can be put into an sa .dff format for the time being. hopefuly it's just me being stupid cause then i would have 3 full things for beta testing one of which needs to be skinned.

yours eyes are not playing tricks on you....i watch road warrior and saw that the tank on the tanker does not taper as it gets closer to the rig also it is higher then the rig and not just because of the armoered spires either.

so seeing how we can get the trialer to properly hook up the the rig while also keeping the shape where it needs to be so will take some experimenting. also the tanker had no back mud flaps on it even before aromoring so none will be in place on the unarmoed version.

 

so enjoy ,working away i'm back from my trip got alot less free time but my son is safe and that's what matters so on to find out why i can't get these damn finished meshes into sa yet.

Dude, is that grille stuff ontop of the trailer full3d? If so make it flat and texture it with alfas, the game will lag so much if it had a full 3d grille... But lovin' the cop model and the tanker is coming along fantastic, hopefully I will be able to get the monaro working in vice soon.

Ive got some good new too The MFP Monaro now textured and (wait for it) the next model to get a lick a paint is............(insert drum role here) The MACK yes I shall be makin a start on the Mack next Im sure T808 is Very Happy atm.... before I go heres some pics of the Monaro... please dont comment on the background.. neok would love to man but trying to get the san andreas dummies just right and the exporter working correctly i don't have anything that works in san andreas yet to send you be patient were close to a break throught besides we not totlay sure how the vice city skin jobs we did will translate into san andreas i want to give you what we have but it has to be able to even get into sa before we can send you anything to work on.

 

edit update: got some ideas of what is worng in the exporter but still haven't figured out yet what is completely worng. got a another forum which will alos host the mods downloads and news as well as my updates here still postign the wip pictures of everything so bear with me it will be abit but go here for the other hoem of hte raod warrior/mad max mod other home of the road warrior mod

 

a revised update on the mod outline is up there.

 

in other news the mad max nightrider manoro is almost working in vice city once we get this damned export trouble worked out then we can get things into sa and start releasing parts of the mod. also thigns will slow down a bit not only do i have my son but startign a new job so tiem will not be a luxury for me on these other models sorry to all but i will continue to work as hard as i can.

big big big news: no not a release...least not quiet yet. sly.gif but patiecence mad max fans. thanks to kams patience througtht my mental shut downs we figured out what i was doing wrong and well now i can get vehicles into a single hierarchy.

 

this means i can export vehicles rah.gif ,the unarmored tanker traler is alreeady translated but needs to be skinned.

the wez bike is now translated but is needign to be tested so were seeing if i am half as smart as i say i am when it comes to converting.

 

if the wez bike checks out okay then our frist release will happen while i get the red xa,the big bopper,max's yellow mfp car and the mad max black interceptor all ingame ready for sa. as for texturing we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

 

so san andreas beta testing is in the works and we hope to have things fixed and ready soon enough so next time i update will be likely with a release. blink.gif stay tuned. breadfish_by_Moto.gif

okay heres the deal i can do everything and finaly get cars ready and out to sa andreas but so far they seem to freeze the game.

 

so help wanted a skilled converter who can get our unreleased vc vehicles out to sa. i can get htem ready in 3d max and then send them in a format of ones choosing but i relize now more then ever even following kams tutorials i jsut don't seem to be able to make these vehicles work. so converters who can help please pm me you would get credit for your help on all readmes and on this site.

despite no one really wanting to help us, work continues even the day after my frist day of work. lets just say no man can say i never did a lick of hard work in my life i got down on my knees and scrubbed those toliets among other things with a tooth brush i earned my money. okay blah blahs aside i decided to get more work done on my ugly ass valiant.

 

so at 3 am this morning i whipped out my laptop and started in on some small things. what was done was i tweaked the roof a bit,moved the dart gun once i realized that the back gunner in road warrior uses what used to be the back end of the car as a seat. and fianly repositioned the outside runnign lights on top of the car because they are not all lined up the outside ones are actualy set back more.

 

finaly i put in some tires to give me a feel of more completion with the car. i need to do alot more on this car including trying my hand at a one piece roof for the valiant cause this one is a piece of sh*t but all in all i have a little more faith in this car and hope it will work well in both games.

 

this morning thought i had a sort of epehiny.

if one looks close enough at the valinats death in the movie you will see actualy 2 things thing 1 is that you never see the valaints front end get smashed off and yet thing 2 if you look closely at the valiants approach to the jump when it crashes into the compound you would see that the front end was removed (probably for safety thought that did little good as the stunt landed the stunt man in the hospital for the rest of the shoot.

 

so what's this all mean?? well 2 things 1 is that i plan to make the whole front end part of the bumper so that it can be broken off not unlike the interceptor. and 2 i'm likely to make a second version for myself that has no front end to it because i'm not a particular fan of the front end as it was.

 

so that is the stand on things done. the wez bike is being converted but so far most of our attmepts have crashed the game so where doing the best we can do but at this moment were still not getting far in the sa convertion.

cookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gif man you guys have been putting in long hours since months before sa came out for pc, i gotta say great job. man im sellin my ps2 version and buyin the pc version just for this, no lie. this will be no doubt the best mod ever. did i mention rr and mm are my 2 favorite movies? i won't go into the 3rd one with all that stupid stuff with the lil kids and stuff. great job

thank you for the priase certain makes things that much more worth it. but i can't take all the priase i'd be nothing wihtout the help of soul coruagous on skins and choofa who helps get things in game. and of course the contributors bigfoot2003,augh,carface,prophetman and quicksilver.

 

without all them we wouldn't be half as far as we are and of coruse a big big thanks to ashedexx who's amazing brain has made alot of things possible that weren't before.

 

but i'll take my credit for the work i did on aughs xc cobra to bring out the xa coupe and the amazing work on the mack truck which was all scratch built btw. and my crappy crappy work on the valiant.

 

speaking of crap and or valiants this is my work today. did some front fender work,installed most of the front end (needs a grille),fixed the front ramerish spike,worked on the back end and the bottom of the valaint vh. added the front end whiteish end peices to compelte the look of it. installed the back lights as well as the back bumper undamaged.

 

most of the parts i put in today i like...the wheels the hood,the back lights,the front end,the doors the pipes,the dart gun,the running lights and back bumper are great just what they should be for the most part but as yo ucan see in these angles the work on the rest of the body is bad really really bad. so looking at throwing out the bad and redoing it till it is the good then we can really move on with it. but i'm liking it for the most part just as a mesh it is very ugly.

 

so withotu further adu here is the frotn end minus the grille

and yes from what little refs of the actual car i could find plus a host of screen caps the back end does dip in a bit like that.

 

 

i'm always open to sudgestions and i liek what i am hearing so far the main gaol right now is getting cars and or people into sa once we have most of these cars done then were tryign to look at mappign but i won't make you pormices i can't keep i can promice msot of the cars from road warrior and alot form mad max. i can promice you some weapons. i can almsot promice you some people form the movies i could promice you more on that if we had help but i deigress.

 

this mod is a labor of love i loved road warrior first then i found out about mad max and loved it...not a fan of the 3rd movie but i understand it.

 

now if i we could only figure out just how to get our vice city works into sa then we could start the dual release for sa and vc. but we're working on it with all we have.

 

and as i asaid one version of mutiltheftauto san andreas is beign built on the blue netowrk technology meaning you will be able to do mutiplayer but with mods now so you coudl all pick a car or truck form the movies and have some movie type games using our models. so future is looking up jsut still got alot of hard work ahead of us. thanks to all for your patience.

i know this is kinda off topic but just for the thought, max's face and the biker jacket already in game would probably be the only thing to be modeled for the player model. with the controversial white mod out (i think its fine, the people bagging on it are lame) the skin would probably be done, all the work that would be need would be to remodel the face, hair and jacket, and a little texture for the facial hair. anyways likinwhat im seein with the cars cookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gif

hello all. i'll take your idea into consideration there derecalator. were trying our hands at deffenret things from just making road warrior outfits to full on characters that are as close as our feeble skills will allow.

 

and i'm not so much worried that if i make mad max that everyone would be up in arms about it,and if some where i would kindly remind them that this is based off a movie with no black stars in it and were going for accuracy not political correctness.

 

well sorry to say things still won't go into sa very easily yet ,very dissapoitning but i have other concerns happening around me as well that i'm not going to go into.

but i have some updates that will make some of you happier. i have brought the lord humungus truck a hell of alot closer to being ready for beta work in vice city.

 

today i did the steering wheel,reshaped and exhaust pipes,hooked the pipes into the engine,put the tanks that are for some off reason put ontop of the engine (not a trapazoidlay engine cover like i first thought watched road warrior and say two canisters.) reworked parts of the body,pulled the shocks from the front suspension up to the right hight,made the boxes that go on the back sides of the truck,dummied the wheels correctly and got most of the specail fuel pumps on the side done but they need to be hooekd up to the gas tanks so i need to get some better rear shots to see how they hook up in back.

 

things left to do on the truck:

 

seat

final engine tweaks

gas pedals

possible weapons on mount on the side like in the movie but those will likely be skinned in.

final rescaling and proportion check (main bodys a hair or two off kilter

prisoners (not sure i can get them to squrm but you should be able to pop their heads off when you ram something a la road warrior.

link the pumps to the back fuel tanks

vice city damage parts

dummy and final part naming

skinning and vice city testing

 

once working in vice city then we go to phase two converting the car for sa.

i'm going to try to finish this model up before i hit the valiant up or the poppagellos car.

 

someone may be finsihing up the gyrocopter he started but i don't want ot say too much and jinx it.

 

and i still have no idea what vehicle i will replace with this humungus truck as it seems to drive a hell of alot like a car or more like a hemi powered pick up truck then a semi truck so hard choice especaily in sa but with the right skinning and everyhting this should be a sweet mod to drive.

well the race continues to finsih off this mod. i worked very hard yesterday and stayed up into the night working,toiling,experiemntings with different things to see what worked,flogging the slaves that sort of thing and i have brought us just that much closer to the humongus truck being ready for vice city.

 

there are no real good shots of the humugus truck from behinde without motion blur trust me i tried every shot i could on my dvd player but i got the genral scense that the gas pump hoses kinda make a loop behind the gas tanks and then go in so i'll figure that out and get them done soon.

 

okay onto the work that was done...extensive frankly.

 

installed gas pedals,added gas caps to the back tanks added where the side platforms are welded onto the body added a seat,added the back fuel pump hose holders finished the work on the back fin, found out the boxes in back are bilt onto the the little fender platforms in back and moved them in, found out what the back end below the tanks looked like and made that as well and then did a complete proportion check (side fender platforms too low and the under body was too low, most of the body above the fender ledges was too tall so brought it all down,plus the cylinders on the engine were too big. and the engine too high.) made the steering wheel a bit bigger and externded it out. got the exhuast to what it should be it doesn't rest on the metal step it actualy is held up the the pipes coming from the engine did that.brought the the front end of the steering housing forward more and pushed those nitrous tanks up a bit to where they should be. and rounded off the exaust to engine hookups like they should be.

 

didn't touch the prisoners display supports they seem to be in proportion.

 

hit a bit of a snag on my break from the truck i took a look back to my idea of the rc mack truck and gyrcopter for the last zero mission. the idea is the make the rc bandit into a mack truck and the rc goblin into the gyrocpter thus it's like playing the gyrocaptian protecting the mack truck as max brings it to the compound.

 

well i have a friends mack truck that aided in my modeling from refrence on the mack truck a well crafted al-be-it slightly in accurate mack truck done by the great 3dartpol well i promiced him a roll in the mod if he helped me a bit it became that his mack would be used for the r/c bandit mod.

 

well i can get it all ready but i ran into a maxscript rollout error so i'm checking with both kam and with 3dartpol to see if we can get this truck working. btw you can now purchase his great model for max here 3dartpol's mack truck also check out 3dartpol's site at 3dartpol truckign site

 

stroke of genious or madness struck late late last night....for the rc mod why stop at the goblin and the bandit there are tanks in the battle feild that make not alot of sence to road warrior so it hit me ,once i make and perfect the valiant vh we'll use it to replace the tanks and use the dartgun as the cannon thus atleast in rc form the valaint vh could really shoot. the thing now is finding the tanks in all that mess of a .img

 

things left to do on the humugus truck:

 

hook up hoose rigging for the gas pumps,

make the prisoners

make damage parts

dummy and rename all things

skinning and beta testing in vice city first

once working in vc we then take it to converting to sa.

well something new is done and something old is alot closer. as what always happens time was my enemy was hopring to be doen with the humugus truck yesterday but isntead spent whole day going to interview for a job that woudl be a step up from the one i am in now only to find out i drove 4 hours for nothig nand left in rush hour traffic...yeah fun. so spent most of today doing catch up.

 

on the humugns truck i'm happier to say that the fuel pumps are hooked up the truck itself is done...but the prinsoners are not. but i hooked up the pumps and woud the hoses areound to the tanks,named parts put things together got some of the dummys done but mainly got the customs chassis_vlo done. now for the vice city version of the truck i decided that with a little handelign tweak the borning old bobcat will do so thats' what i'm dumming it up as. tryign to get by with now bonnet and boot damage i knwo i can do that in sa but vice may not liek it so much nore any doors again sa will supprot it but not sure abotu vice city. but the front wings have been cut out of the front fender ridges but sa's version will not have these peices that will break off.

 

so all that is left is finish the dumming and get the prisoners made before it can be skinend and tested in vc.

 

now i did say somethig nelse was done. foudn out the stray submap that was tripoign up the exporter for the r/c mack was in the wheel that the orignal aouther had made. so took out all the maps and it final exported hopefuly we can slap a skin on this model and get it working in sa's zero missions and in vice city. but for nwo the sa version is for sure beta.

i'll have some time for sure this week to get the humugus truck ready for vice city after that my time will be severly limted to weekends due to work and my son. but work will continue worry not some more models are ready to roll in vice city soon to be san andreas.

Great work on the humugns truck it looks so sweet. I cant wait to see this mod finished Mad Max is so awesome. The cars were the best part of the movie. they had to mod alot of those cars quite a bit aye. and to think people are out there who own some of those great cars. imagine driving around in the interceptor....

Well go me biggrin.giftounge.gif ,also great work on most of the textures SC wink.gif , This thing was a pain in the ass to get in-game but awsome to drive, all we need for it is a defult and handling line wink.gif also nice pics SC wow.gif .

Hey All!! its 1.47am here and My kids are STILL UP!!!!! My sons had a few hrs sleep but has decided he whont sleep no more and my daughter has been on the go ALL F'ing day.. needless ta say the Mack has had to go on hold as My Wife is becoming quite ill atm so work from me is gonna be vary scares still my wife gets better as Im gonna be looking after my kids ANd my wife... HAve been able to grab a few hours on the pc while they did have a nap n got a new and improoved Mad max skin for vice city... im also gonna take on a little side project for the mod once things pick up here at home and thats ta "try" and turn Vice city into a more barren Mad max style world. it will only be new textures as I have next to no modeling experiance..

I do plan to do SA versions tho They will take alot longer ta do as theres TOO many textures ta do. I have been toying with the idea of doing seperate charcters for all the sets of clothes and heads within the CJ player pack I.e d=for the Mohawk I can do Wez etc what do you ppl think of that?

on the manoro looking great guys. one little tweak might be happing the orignal author says he want to fix the wheels and reskin the wheels himself so i may let him do that but in genral i think it's all really great.

 

on the work front well not much to report yet. but in one week my son starts school again and that will give me tuesday throught friday to give a few hours each morning after i drop him at school (monday being my only monring shift.) for modding.

 

i had another vision the other night. after humungus is done then i have had a vision i hope to make mostly come true.

 

after or while doing my damndest to get this f---ing valint tuned up and ready for action the next car i plan to start from scratch with is the pink de soto.

 

it's the impalaish,57' chevy looking car that was pink and gets toruched and blown to hell when max returns the mack to the compound. no matter the color if i can get it looking even alittle bit like it is in my head i think this car will be as cool as the rest no matter the color.

 

well more news when i have it just wanted to give everyone a heads for on my end.

 

there is a possiblility that our working work in vice city may be getting released seeing as how converting the cars is such a nightmare for the only person doing the convertion and no one wants to help get these cars into sa...not feeling sure on the release yet but it is a big possibility as a treat to those fans hanging on for our dual releases. stay tuned. sign-clinton.gifsign-thompson.gifsign-yee.gif

well i hit a wall last night...i work on the humguns truck i tried to get it ready for beta and done i really did but then it hit me. this is a polly beast as it is and would take alot longer to do if i coudl do it myself. so i'm throwing in a towel and tellign you that not everytghing will be totlay orignal in these models.

 

i'm not a person maker yet so the prisoners are next to an impossibility if i do them myself totlay so here is the first towel. goign to use a ped and dress him up. sure it's a bit of al et down after all my work on the truck beign orgnal minus the wheels. but i know my limits and thsi project is tking alot longer then it shoudl do. so that's the heads up on that trust me you will all thank me later for it.

 

the other towel is on some of these other vehilces...namrly right now the snake truck. i been bustign my ass on it and it's even uglier then the valiant. i found a free model online it wouldn't tkae much to fix it up all i need do is add a motor the custom windsheild,dart gun,tow truck arm,and seats and steering.and hood lights. then after skinnign she would be done. and the dart gun is done the rest would fall into place easily. but at this poitn why bust my ass for a model that i coudl easily tranlate...it was pride but like dirty hearry once said "mans got to knwo his limitations."

 

so i'm sorry if this is a shock and horro for everyone in vovled but being one of about 3 modelrs and havign the most work load it's time to look to other solutions for some of the other cars. but i assure you everything will be as movie accurate as possible. meanwhile i have done some hood of the pink de soto...that model will be scratch built as will the valint still.

 

btw got a new guy workign on our non working sa models to help us when no one else would his name is peter helia and we at the mod owe him a big big thanks for he has gotten a few of our well known models into sa...texture problems still abound thought but nto peters fault. more shots of things tonight.

Ok heres big bopper... there is one problem with TXD file which is that base 2 is miising confused.gif .

i think its because when i try to convert the TXD file it has a memory issue
