It was a sloppy performance from the Spurs. The Pistons stepped up the defense, Wallace got 5 early blocks, and the game was pretty much a lock by mid 3rd quarter. The Spurs got no penetration, Ginobili did squat, their shooters were building a house in the backcourt, a mediocre performance from Duncan...all in all a poor showing from San Antonio. Hopefully this will give the Pistons some momentum and let them tie the series up before SA gets another win off them. I want to see the Pistons take it.

Yeah man what was the deal with Ginobili? I mean he got his knee banged early and i think ended up with like 7 points. Damn right he did squat.

I hope Pistons take it also. Spurs must go down happy.gif

Home court advantage means a lot in the Finals this year, and San Antonio will have it in more games than Detroit. If the Pistons can't at least squeak out a win on the road, they may not take a consecutive title home.

A while ago, I found this article on the internet about Michael Jordan's first retirement. It talks about how the NBA covered up the gambling problems he would have been kicked from basketball for because of the money he was earning them at the time. I won't elaborate further, just read the article here.

Holy Hell. Micheal Jordan = Pete Rose?

Spurs win in game 6. Home Court Adavantage is the main aspect in this series, well if Detriot wins tonight. I just like the Spurs Offense and Defense. Thats whats going to win.

I think the Pistons O and D will overcome SA's. Pistons take all 3 home games, and we'll see what happens in the two in San Antonio.

Wow, Pistons killed the Spurs again. The home court advantage is huge for them. (Also, looks like I was correct with my call that Lindsey Hunter would come up big for them tounge.gif )

About MJ: I knew he was competitive, but I didn't think he was that competetive. Good thing Dickie Simpkins was my favorite player for the 90s Bulls! biggrin.gif (jk, it was BJ Armstrong) Seriously though, I hope this does not become big news. He should be remembered for his on court greatness, not some off court mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, and certainly these were big mistakes, but it's not like he shot someone. For some reason I just watched all 6 championship DVDs of the 90s Bulls, and I would reccommend it to any basketball fan. You can see what great players Michael and Scottie were. Also, they are what a true team should be, because every player (well almost every player. Sorry Rusty LaRue) has a role to fill.

Sorry, I kind of got carried away there. I let my Chicago pride get the best of me blush.gif

Lol i was wandering and hoping Darko would score the 100th point tonight and he does with a littel lay up. I think when I say the name Darko, Pistons won or got beat by a lot. And they won baby.

I'm not out to blemish MJ's reputation, but his career wasn't the fairytale that we're told it was.

The difference between Pete Rose and MJ, is that the NBA had a lot more to lose with Michael being kicked than the MLB did with Rose. That's the reason David Stern gave him so many breaks.

What really gets me is that it seems too convenient for Jordan to go out on a high note like he did in '98. It could have easily been fixed to where it was a close game, and MJ gets the last shot and makes it. I remember that Michael Jordan came to my town when I was younger and did a promotional game with a bunch of no-name players. At the end of the game, it was a close one, and the ball went to Jordan, and everyone just sort of laid back and let him take the last dunk. It makes me wonder how many other fixed games there have been in the league before.

Well, I before the series started, I said Spurs in 5. So, that's not happening. Props to Detroit. Still think Spurs will take this one, but it might go to 7.

This game is a classic, and it finally proves that Robert Horry is the greatest clutch shooter ever. If he wins a ring, he is going to the hall.

This series is over, Spurs has the momentum going into San Antonio.

Damn they left Horry way too open and then blew it in the end. Sucsk for pistons. Good thing I could care less about the finals right now.

EDIT: Oh and yes Duncan did suck ass, he almost blew it.

Meh, I'm the only Michigan dude here, so understandably, I'm pissed that we lost. But I still have to give it up for Horry, great clutch shot. Kinda like last year's Kobe game clincher.

WE WILL WIN! MWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!

Yeah it is pretty much spurs now. They only have to win one out of two. Detroit could have a comeback but it is unlikely confused.gif

Don't give up on them. In the playoffs, anything goes. Detroit was down 3-2 against the Heat...and look what happened.

Anyways, I'm for the Spurs. After seeing game 5, I see that they want it more. They played good. Big Shot Bobby... amazing 21 pts in 18 minutes they said?

I can't believe Sheed doubled down on Manu when he was guarding Horry. How are you gonna leave Robert f*cking Horry open? If you really need to double team Manu, do it with anybody else except the guy whose guarding Robert Horry!

Alright, good to get that out. I actually like the Spurs, I just don't want them to win this year. It's kinda stupid, but I think you all will understand. My favorite player, Jason Hart (because he was a PG @ syracuse), played with the team last year and was 2nd string PG, but then they drafted Beno Udrih so Hart is playing with the Bobcats now. How bad would it suck if the Spurs won the title the year before he was there and the year after he was there, but not the year that he actually played for them? (And that was probably his only chance for a championship, because the Bobcats will suck for the next 6 or 7 years (maybe more sad.gif )
