Hell if Katich goes to South Africa I'll be very very angry. He is about to get a century but he has taken like 20 years to get it (~130 deliveries) with nealry 80 dot balls. There is no way that would be acceptable had Gilchrist not got the fastest century on Australian soil. f*ck, he sinks this team.

They're announcing the team that's travelling to South Africa tomorrow, it'll be very interesting. I hope Clarke is back in the test side, he's had a very good VB series. They showed a stats table while Sri Lanka were batting that had him at no. 4 for most runs scored in the series, I can't remember the amount but it was an average of about 56. The table might have changed after Australia batted though.

They only annouced the ODI side yesterday, I thought they were announcing the test side aswell, but I guess not. Katich is in, Jacques isnt' in.

Lol, Jaques pretty much got told to f*ck off and work on his fielding. THat was heard to be the main reason he didn't get picked, because his fielding needs work. A bit of a shame, but remember, Katich got 100 in his last test.

 

I went to the ODI 2nd Final in Sydney, and it all happened so quick that I can't seem to come to terms with the fact that we hit 368. They made it look so f*cking easy. It was great to watch Symmo get his hundred and see the excitement from him. THe crowd was incredible, we saw a fight in the stand like 1/4 of the way around from us. You could see them throwing beer and sh*t at each other. We also saw and photographed a huge beer snake, and I am talking like a whole seating bay across in length. Maybe pics if I can get the EasyShare for the camera right. -MDG

I agree. Katich isn't cut out for the one-day arena. He's a good cricketer but his strike rate leaves a bit to desire. I might find myself eating my words if he performs well on the upcoming tour of South Africa, though.

I wish I was at that game too. I was on cloud 9 all day. It was just so f*cking awesome, I was there in body, but my mind just ran away from me. It was just too much to comprehend. We also got pics of people hitting sixes, and a pic of the shot Jayasuriya played to get out.

 

Well, played our last Firday night game tonight, and managed 140 off our 25 overs. I got 9 not out after opening last week and gettin 26. So I got 9 not out off about 7 balls, but I was out there 4 overs and the other guy was a strike hog/couldn't hit the ball. I got 3/14 off 4 overs and was involved in a runout and catch. I was happy with that. -MDG

The Canberra Capitals just beat the Dandenong Rangers in the WNBL final. Not that anyone cares about it much.

I'll be off to that stadium in about an hour to watch my sister play in a semi final.

The NBL gets a bit of Pay-Tv and stuff, but the Women's basketball isn't very popular. Even with the best female basketball player in the world (Lauren Jackson) it isn't really all that flash. Only the ABC cover it.

 

The ABA (Sort of equivalent to college basketball) doesn't really get any TV airtime. Shame really, since there are a few good teams that play.

It was the Lions by 1 point (which they got with 2 secs) left, although the siren took a while to go. Essendon nearly had enough time to run down the other end to score, after leading almost all the game.
