Well, it doesn't matter now, because now that the server is back, I can tell you the great news that the Aussies smacked the World XI. Won every game in the season. Well, Australia's league team also just scraped through winning 28-26 over the Kiwis, but Joey is in doubt for the rest of the tour. -MDG

Don't forget we also smashed the Irish in the International Rules. Good to see the changes to side selection worked.

God I hate the International Rules Series. It is always the same, the two teams metaphorically take straws to see who will be spanked by the other. You dont know who, but someone always loses horribly.

Yeah, its sort of like watching a game with Port as the losing team. You know they are either gonna pull a close win out of their arse, or get completely drilled. Well, I played cricket on the weekend, and good signs after my first ball of batting, I hit my first ball of the season for 4. Perfect shot, all the way along the wet outfield on the gorund, it felt so good. Sadly, because the ball would pitch at a good length and take your head off due to the wet, I got out trying to play a cut shot on a ball that rose too much and get a top edge. I got 9.

Can't wait for this summer of cricket, because I am hoping to see Brian Lara break the 11,000 run mark and maybe Allan Border's record. -MDG

Allan Borders record is gooone.

I had practice tonight. Batted for the first time this season. Just a bit of a loosener, everyone had new rocks and my poor bat took a pounding.

Yeah, I hate batting against a new ball, especially on a synthetic wicket. Even on an abrasive turf pitch, the new ball flies off, and it is worse in the nets on synthetic. Had rep training tonight, and we got to go out and bowl on a wicket that was played on during the day, and it was one of those hard and abrasive pitches. I didn't bat, but I bowled very well. First game of rep this weekend. Even without the new ball, the ball was pitching at a good length and hitting the batsman's gloves.

I also played seniors touch footy tonight, and because we are all young and a bit unfit at the moment, we got beat by speed and fitness, and lost 5-2.

That pitch I talked about above wasn't as bad as the one on the weekend. It rained all week and it was so wet that the ball took a divot out of the pitch everytime, and thus made little holes in the pitch, and because those holes were everywhere, the ball would be almost a yorker, hit the edge of a hole and take off your head. Not to mention having to pick up which thing that flew up off the pitch was the ball, becasuse you had to choose between a juicy piece of mud and the ball.

Edit: Looks as though in my two games this weekend we will be p[layin on very hard and unforgiving wickets this weekend. THe sun has been shinng all week and doesn't look like slowing down come tommorow, and there isn't a cloud in the sky right now at 5:00PM, so there won't be a storm due to the humiditiy. -MDG

With an aggregate total lead of 55 it was the biggest series win in the international rules. The game was a bit rough but a good show in any case.

When was that game? Last night, or are you still talking about the other one? -MDG

Yer, it was last night at Telstra dome. Aussies thrashed the Irish overall in the series. Good to see us finally win won down in Melbourne.

Mafia Drive Gunner

Yes, very good.

Played cricket this morning, and wasn't on the batting list, so I sat there for 3 hours and watched my team bat out 40 overs, and get bowled out for about 120. We have bowled 3 of our allotted 50 overs, and have them reeling at 2/3, and the first ball next week is a hat trick ball for our opening bowler. If we were to bowl for 5 or 6 overs today, I was going to bowl, but we only had time for 3. Now we just have to come back next week and finish the job.

We have rep tommorow, so that should be good, first game of the season. I bowled really well at training because it was more of a game situation because we weren't crammed up in the nets but out in the middle on and old pitch. Maybe got hit for 5 or 6 runs off about 10 overs worth of bowling. I never bowl well in the nets, because being a spinner I can't flight the ball because there is a bar that the ball hits 9/10 times I flight it perfectly. BUt out in the middle I could throw it up as much as I wanted, which made it better. Hopefully I will be first or second change tommorow. -MDG

I think only one thing was learnt from this Ireland roadtrip.

CHRIS JOHNSON > IRELAND

Anyone disagree? Thought not. I still hate International Rules though. We beat them by and aggregate of 53 or something, but they beat us by 50 last year.

So naturally, we are going to lose by 60 or something next year. You just watch.

I have one thing to say.

f*ck Makybe Diva. Even though he won, and he is a true champion, his trainers f*cked everyone around by messing up the whole week by threatening to not race. They ruined a great week really. I really wish Distinction or Eye Popper got a place. -MDG

I think what they did would have been to try and keep them from ending up with a return of like $1.05 for each $1. They tried to slow down people betting on the Diva so that if it didn't win for some reason, it wouldn't start a riot.

I wanted number 7 to win.

You know the horse that bolted and ended up 3rd. If that horse didn't do that, my mum would have got a trifecta and won about $10,000. That horse (excitement) deserves to be shot.

Pfft, Pt.Lincoln, Pt. Shmincon, my town has produced 10 winners, and this is a town of only 20,000.

By the way, that horse was called Xcellent. I just think it was hilarious that Mr.Celebrity went from first to last in 1000m.

Justin Langer has been pulled out of the first test against the Windies on Thursday. Mike Hussey has his spot. -MDG

There are more millionaires per capita in Pt. Lincoln than anywhere else in the world. The amount of money they have in that city is insane.

Yeah, well good on Pt. Linoln. Why? Shutup, that's why.

Why are we talking about rich economy in sports discussion anyways? -MDG

Dammit Jay, you've cut me down three times in less than 24 hours. f*ck Pt.Lincoln, just like it rides Makybe Diva's a-hole to victory every year.

Two great horses careers ended yesterday, Vinnie Roe and Makybe Diva. Two incredible careers come to an end.

Can't wait for the cricket to start tommorow. -MDG

Well, that's the way it has been and ever shall be, biatch.

Anyways, Ricky Ponting hit a great 149 off 213 balls to put the Aussie in good shape for the second day. Gilly got 2nd highest with 44, closely followed by Matty Hayden. Mike Hussey got out for 1 in his first test.

Australia 7/340 (Ponting 149, Warne 31*, Collymore 4/47). -MDG

Stumps Day 2 : AUS 435, WIN 6-182 (62)

Good work by the Aussies, hopefully we can force the follow on and wrap this up quickly.

Good god, that was the best ever bowling spell I have ever witnessed in terms of showcasing skills. Warnie bowled everything in the Shane Warne bag of balls, as bad as that sounds. He probably bowled about 10 flippers and 5 wrong 'uns. It was incredible.

For the first time in his career, Ponting hit centuries in both innings of a match. Haydos got 118, Hussey got 29, and Ponting is in on 104 with Clarkey on 14. Australia are 2/283 and lead by 508 runs. I think they will bat until about 20 minutes before the end of the first session tommorow, giving the quicks a short go at the batsman. -MDG

Its all over. One of the biggest wins by the Aussies against West Indies. Bit of a shame that it wont go on to at least the 5th day. Even a morning session would have gotten people to come probably.

Yeah, but geez it was good to see every Aussie bowler getting a go and doing an awesome job. In the first innings, Warnie and Pidgeon got 9 between them, and in the second, Bracks and Binga did the same thing.

They lost 8/50 to go from 2/80 to all out for 130. That was unbelievable.

Well, we played rep today, and got thrashed. We started out alright, and were 0/30 after 8. Then we were all out for 130 after 32 of our allotted 45 overs(got shortened from 50, we started late because of rain), and then after a good start in bowling, they ended up hitting the runs off 27 overs. I bowled 4 overs for 16 runs, but 8 of them came off my last over.

Australia got beat in the Rugby, against France, 23-16. But we scored our only try in injury time. -MDG

Didnt even make it to the 3rd session on day 4.

Oy vey. Imagine how different the media would be if Kasper got that one run and we won the Ashes. Everyone bignotes England too much.

Yeah, the English team, although great, probably got a few lucky breaks in that series. A few LBW's that should have been given, or not given, and how much difference that run would have made is incredible.

I can't believe anyone even considered thinking of moving England up to No. 1 in the test rankings. Some said after a performance like that they didn't deserve it, but how could they not deserve it. They have been on top for ages, and it would take 3 or 4 series losses for them to be moved.

Remember this is the team that won 16 in a row, well, most of them. They also have dominated every test team, and won in India for the first time in ages. Ponting has come on in leaps and bounds since he was awarded the captaincy. -MDG

And as I said before, if the slightest thing went differently, like a matter of inches and Kasper could have scored a run off that ball, we would have won the series and THEN what would have happened?
