The Eels played very much like the Saints did the night before. In fact, it was almost identical. Both the Eels and the Saints had their chances, but both failed to capitalise.

 

Should be a good game next Sunday. My tip is the Tigers, but it could go either way. I'm confident it won't be a repeat of the first week of the finals, in which the Tigers smashed the Cowboys 50 - 6. Can't wait.

Well, it will be an incredible grand final. Two teams full of raw talent, and two of the fittest teams you will see. Shame to see Pat Richards in doubt, and Carl Webb missing on suspension. Sad to see two players that have put so much into their respective clubs and miss out on the club's biggest day, for the Cowboys especially. I don't know why, but I had a strange feeling that the Cowboys could produce and upset last SUnday. And I have that same feeling this week. Remember, they will still be hurting from being beaten by 44 points by the TIgers 2 weeks ago. -MDG

Anyway. I am so glad the Tigers won. Despite the fact that I just plain like the team, it's always nice to see a New South Wales team defeat a Queensland one.

Yes, I have been waiting for someone to post so I could actually get a word in on the GF, but I can't really bump a pinned topic. It was a great GF, but the final score definitely doesn't tell the whole story. I really feel sorry for the Cowboys, because I know how it feels, and at times I struggled to keep my eyes on the screen to watch the 4 teams that won premierships on Sunday, as I have played in 3 GF and am yet to feel that winning feeling. It just ate away at me watching those images.

 

Yes, the Knights will be a powerhouse next season. Healthy Joey, Great Britain International Brian Carney, Wigan Prop Luke Davico (who also played for the Raiders), healthy Kirk Reynoldson, strong young forward pack and some experience and youth in the backs.

Yes, a very good 50 from Katich and a good opening partnership. Just proves how important a good opening partnership is. I was really hoping Ponting's dismissal hit the roof just to see what would happen to the ball. Apparently it is raining in Melbourne so it is good that they have the roof.

 

The only problem I think is because it is indoors it doesn't seem to have that ODI atmosphere that I enjoy. THere doesn't seem to be a big crowd in really. -MDG

Wow, it looks like this race will either end 15 laps early or it is going to end under the safety car. That crash between Ambrose and Murphy which ended up taking about half the field away with damage. Murphy surely will get reprimanded, he was the instigator. Oh well, I am just happy that Skaife is going to win. Him and Todd Kelly have exercised a great strategy.

 

Wow, that was an incredible Bathurst, but it hasn't been finished yet, but I imagine it will finish under safety car.

Edit: Looks like they are going to clean it up and we are going to see a 10 lap sprint for the finish line.

I saw Bathurst yesterday. What an exciting crash. Holden has won what, 7 times in a row up there now?

 

The Aussies just demolished the World XI didn't they? If they doesn't prove we are still the best, then nothing will. Let's hope for an equally good test.

Yes, Holden won because Holden owns all and will until the end of time. About time my fave team of Todd Kelly and Mark Skaife won, especially Mark Skaife.

 

Anyways, lets hope for a good test, but lets hope it goes until the final day, just for the fact that it means it won't be half as lopsided as the series has seemed so far. I thought it was funny to watch Mike Hussey's reaction when he hit the roof.

Apparently they don't want you to buy tickets to day 4, 5 and 6. Either they aren't selling much because no one thinks the test will go that long, or they want you to buy tickets for the first few days, then get some for the rest as a means of drawing a crowd.

Well, Matty Hayden made a hundred he needed and Australia are 6/331 after Gilchrist that little f*cker went off for bad light 6 runs short of his century. It should be a good second day, with the tail hoping to wag and the World IX trying to bowl them out quickly. -MDG

He went off for bad light because Graeme Smith took the new ball. You dont want to be battling fro a century with Harmison and his new rock swinging into you. You saw what he did to Langer.

 

But I made an observation today. If you were to give a cricket ball to a monkey and teach it how to bowl, it would do it exactly the same way as Stephen Harmison. With the gangly "ooooahhhh" hands in the air before releasing the ball.

Yeah, Harmison's action looks even funnier because of his heaps long arms. It's pretty funny. All the English bowlers seem to have a streamlined but all over the place action. Freddie Flintoff isn't as bad, Hoggard bowls normally, but Harmison bowls like an ape.

 

The reason I am angry at Adam Gilchrist is he prides himself on being a crowd pleaser. But then he gets so close to a century and pretty much tells all the crowd that has been waiting for it all day to f*ck off. Also, it means he will need to make a new start at getting his eye in again tommorow.

The Aussies are doing great. They made 345 in the first innings, then bowled the World XI out in under a day for 190 runs. Right now they are 1/42 in the second innings. With a six day test they can bat until they reach 400 this innings, and then still have enough time to bowl out the World XI.

Yeah, it will be great to see them try to bat for about that. I think that if they bat solidly for 2 days, giving the other team 2 days to bat, chassing around 700. That would be something, because I know that with the test being a one of they will go for it.

 

By the way, we coulda won the Tri Nations but Kennedy dropped the f*cker of a ball and gave them possession on our 20 metre line when they were up by 2. Also, if Fitzgibbon kicked all of his conversions it would have made it a tie. Even if he kicked one or two more, we still woulda had a chance in the last passages of play. -MDG

I don't believe that to be relevant, as I was refering to your own bowling skills, not your teams.

 

Anyways, I wish I could watch you vs. World XI, as I've never seen you play at your best. But I don't get any channels which are covering it .
