Oh man,

Nathan Brown seriously broke both his legs i think, i just heard it on the radio.

They say his season is over.

Even though i got for the saints, i feel so sorry for him.

And like on the replays, you could just hear the crowds groans......

i hope its not as bad as it sounds

My thoughts on the Origin match...

The Blues should have won the other night and if Kimmorley wasn't playing they would have for sure. You will note in my msn nic that I want Noddy shot...Noddy aka best player for QLD on the night despite the fact he was wearing a Blues jersey.

I'm not just talking about the intercept pass either, I'm talking about the whole game. Kimmorley played like sh*t for over 80 minutes and many Blues supporters want him gooooooonnnnne with good reason. Orford, Gower or even Johns, if he plays himself back into form, all deserve to be selected ahead of Noddy.

Other than that Origin 1 was a great match to watch especially in the second half when the Blues were making their comeback. Once they find their rhythm they're hard to beat. Can't wait for the game in Sydney.

I'll just edit this post to say I'm very pleased the Gold Coast will have a NRL side in 2007. Hopefully the stadium will be somewhat like Dairy Farmers up in North QLD so that there is a great atmosphere at each match. I don't know who I'll support when the coast and Storm play each other.

Edited by Storm.

Did you guys see when he broke both bones in his leg? His leg was at a 40 degree angle from his foot. You could almost see the bones penetrating the skin. His season is over, and with him being 2nd in the Coleman medal tally, it leaves the way open for other players.

That sort of incident is something no one should have to see, or go through.

That is Brown and Darcy. This season is getting more interesting every week.

Gta Gamer.

That Nathan Brown incident was nasty.

Heard it on the radio, then got home in time to see it on the delayed telecast. (We get Friday night games an hour late here in Tasmania)

Surgery for Brown

1:21:19 PM Sat 28 May, 2005

Sportal for afl.com.au

Richmond's Nathan Brown has undergone surgery to insert a rod and three screws to support his badly broken leg amid confirmation that he will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2005 season.

Brown was operated on at 6.30 am Saturday at Vimy House private hospital in Kew to repair an injury that Richmond club doctor Greg Hickey described as one of the worst of its type.

Brown's tibia and fibula in his right leg had fractured as a result of the smother by Melbourne defender Matthew Whelan early in the final quarter of Friday night's match at Telstra Dome.

Brown was treated on the ground before being stretchered off and taken immediately by ambulance to hospital.

He's expected to stay in hospital for two to three days and his leg will remain in plaster for some time.

A six month recovery period is considered the best case scenario for such an injury.

Same in Melbourne. I think it's the same everywhere on the east coast.

Bloody hell, I really wanted those Crusaders to lose! Oh well, there's always next year and at least the Waratahs know they were definitely better than any other Aussie side. The team will be better off for the experience.

The Saints had a good win tonight in the AFL. They really needed that one against the Swans just to get some morale and momentum back. They are back in the 8, and if they can get a few more wins will be back to their former glory. confused.gif

Oh nice going Cindy, you're not on 69 posts in here anymore. mad.gif Stupid sheep shagger rugby players, we'll just have to beat you in the Test matches whenever we play again.

How did the Sharks manage to lose last night? I'll just blame Noddy again, that seems to work well. 3/4 with the tipping so far.

The Knights got 2 points this week. biggrin.gif

I'm afraid I can't submit my NRL reviews for this week. I've got to study for my half-yearlys. So I'll probably be out of action for a few more weeks now. confused.gif I'll see what I can do - you never know, I may get some time - but I doubt it.

If someone else wants to fill in for me for a bit, that's sweet. If not, I guess we'll just not have NRL reviews for a few weeks. I'm sure we'll survive. We've been going without AFL reviews for a good 6 months now. tounge.gif

And I was winning. cryani.gif

I think I got about half this week. It was a relatively hard week to pick. We had a few close matches. And then we have a few not so tough choices, such as the Port-Eagles match.

Here is what Dizzy has to say to the poms. He really threw down the gauntlet.

England warm-up 'not really competition'

Cricinfo staff

May 30, 2005

Jason Gillespie has kicked off Australia's pre-Ashes training by saying England's two Tests against Bangladesh are good only for their statistics. Gillespie, who arrived early for the camp in Brisbane with Shaun Tait yesterday, said England's innings victory at Lord's wouldn't hurt the bowlers' confidence.

"But they know that it's not really competition compared to what we're going to give them," he told the Courier-Mail. "As a player, you don't take a lot from those games except for good stats. You can look at it from the point of view that time in the middle is good for batters against any opposition."

Gillespie has been training hard in Adelaide, but said being involved in the camp made him realise how close the tour was. "We've had a good break since New Zealand," he told the paper. "Towards the end of that tour, I was thinking 'let's knock these guys over and get out of here'. It was purely a mental thing and it was one of the more challenging tours I had been on. But I feel great physically."

Australia leave for the two one-day series and the five Tests on Saturday. The first match of the tour is against Leicestershire at Grace Road on June 11.

I love it when the Aussie bowlers get into the opposition before a game. It adds a bit of Aussie Flavour before they go anywhere around the world. I think it will still be closer. I will get Joey.Leone to change the description to say, 'Calling All Poms, Covering the Ashes', closer to the series.

Well, my team played 2 games on the weekend, the first against the worst team, the second against the 3rd best team. The first one, we won, 61-0, and the second one 31-7. I am playing well, I hope it continues. -MDG

Well I scored 6/7 in the NRL tipping, still looking for that elusive perfect round. The Storm had a win over the Dragons which always pleases me and today I got a NSW Blues state of origin jersey. Now I can proudly display my support for the superior state team.

The Poms haven't got a chance in hell of winning the Ashes series.

That's the frame of mind.

Next month... wooowooo! Which station is it on? SBS or ABC?

Meh, some sleepless nights await.

I would say SBS because while I was watching World Sports tonight they mentioned something about live Ashes coverage. I wasn't really paying attention at the time but SBS sounds like the one. Will be nice being able to watch the Ashes on free to air for a change. Not everyone can afford to waste money on Austar or Foxtel.

Well when you get it, you are paying to watch ads. It was so much better when there were no advertisements.

A couple of people were saying that today as well, what the hell has happened with pay tv that they need to show so many ads? If you pay to watch tv each month you expect to see very few ads. Methinks there will be a lot of dissatisfied customers. confused.gif

If anything, it draws people away from buying more packages. If you want a package with decent sh*t like sport and comedy it is ~70 bucks. Not including the movie channels. Then there is installation, Main Event, etc.

It adds up.

Yeah, I had to choose between internet and AUstar when we got the internet. It sucks because now that I follow the gridiron in America, I can't watch it. And now it costs so much to get packages, when you should just be able to choose the channels you want and pay accordingly.Stuff the ads, knowing Jamster it is probably all them.

Well, another big week of NRL coming up this week, with more players trying to crack origin spots. I am going to the Knights game, should be a goodin, Johnsy is back. He has been training with his borken jaw, so fitness wouldn't be down. On an NRL.com poll, 65% of people think Joey should be in Origin II. I don't reckon so. -MDG
