Woohoo, I'm a happy man now. Storm 50-4 Broncos. You can't get much better than that, eh boys. Raiders and Cowboys had good wins too so I'm 3/4 in the tipping. Storm are playing Panthers on Friday night so I'll be watching that for sure.

Trust the Knights to lose again. I've now found a sure fire way to get at least 1 tip a week right. Anyone who plays the Knights will win. Easy.

 

The Storm had a good win, which is always good, seeing as the Broncos are my least favourite team.

 

So that makes me on 2/4 in this weeks tipping so far.

Tommy, I go for the Melbourne Storm in the NRL and Sydney Swans in the AFL. I reckon it's about time the Swans won the flag.

I'm watching the football, Saints and Fremantle. The weather is absolutely shocking. Fremantle are up 9-3 at quarter time. The Saints rushed 2 points for Fremantle.

 

Dockers up by 5 at half-time. As the players were going off the ground a small clash between the two teams as they both go to the same exit happened. A few fines to both teams more then likely.

 

 

Saints won by a point. They needed to win or their season was off to a bad start. The weather sub-sided a little while in.

I despise brisbane with a vengence. I don't really like Port all that much but I can't stand brisbane. (NOTE the deliberate no caps for brisbane) I think they have been seen over the past years too much and Melbourne journalists don't want make them have policatal brawl, which probably doesn't make sense, but basically I think brisbane now control too much footy politics so they are treated more nicely then a lot of other teams. St Kilda and Richmond don't seem to get the good attention, only the bad. Just my two cents though.

Another sh*tty week of tipping overall because the Tigers and Sharks had wins today. Argh, why do the favourites have to keep losing. I'll submit all the scores later tonight, MDG.

I hate this, I am now really considering quitting my local paper's tipping. I went to the Waratahs game the other night, and it wasn't really much of a game. Way too many mistakes made it very boring, and at times it was as though I was at a game of AFL.

I think the AFL tribunal will be handing out a few fines over the St Kilda/Fremantle small dispute. They should work out some way of avoiding that. Something like one team going off first and then the other. Two teams just can not go off the feild at the same time sometimes.

I nearly died. It was awful.

I watched it last night. Port take the foot off the pedal too often. Lazy f*ckers. Gotta love 'em though. I started watchin' about 15 minutes into the third quarter. Wasn't really watchin' who had it, then the ball went into Ports 50 and I saw Tredders run, he's faster this year ay? And where the hell are the Burgoynes, Mahoney and Wilson? I thought Wilson might be recoverin' from surgery, but I dunno.

Shane Webcke has retired from rep footy, after 21 origin games and 19 tests. A bit of a shame considering how well he goes. Maybe this will liven up his club career a bit. One reason was a chronic knee injury. Link

I have sent in the AFL Suspension list, and seeing as there is no cases going to the tribunal that can result in suspension, it should be ok. PM me if there is any problems.

I am hoping st kilda, and it seems a lot of media were tipping them at the start of the year, but I think Kangaroos seem to be a much greater side, Geelong are underated, same with Melbourne a bit. Overall I think that Port might do well, although I wouldn't rule out the Roos or Melbourne.

I assume you mean in the Aussie side seeing as Shrek is a Blues man. It is a shame to see Webcke retire because I enjoyed watching him play for the Maroons and Kangaroos. Even when he's injured he keeps charging like a tank.

 

@cindy: Nice of you to drop by for a change. I heard on the news briefly that the Kiwis were kicking ass. Just shows what a huge gap there is between Australia and the rest of the world.

I have PM'd the NRL Judiciary results etc. to you MDG. Hope you like. I had to start from scratch as I think there was a problem with the coding. Does anyone look at the AFL Tribunal/NRL Judiciary things on the front page? Doesn't matter much.

I reckon top 8 after Round 22 will have Port, St. Kilda, Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong, West Coast, Carlton and either the Bulldogs, Adelaide or the Roos. Brisbane aren't what they were, but they're still good. West Coast and the Doggies are a lot fitter this year. Geelong are a great young side, I don't see them not finishin' in the 8 for at at least two years. Adelaide and the Roos seem fitter, McLeod's back to his old self. Melbourne were right there for 90% of last season, St. Kilda were closer. Carlton seem a lot better since Whitnall got off his arse, not that they were bad last year.

Thats basically my top 8 except I'd have Sydney there instead of the Western Bulldogs. Oh and about Carlton. If they have Whitnall and Fevola playing good footy all year, we have a real chance of making the 8 and upsetting some of the other finalists. We also need a strong backline, something that we don't have right now. Anyway, I'm hoping to go and see Carlton v. Collingwood on the weekend. It should be a good match. Although you'd think the Blues will win. It'll be close though.
