Good luck with all your cricket matches.

I reckon we should be able to beat the Poms pretty easily although if Kimmorley is playing again then we can expect no goals to be kicked.

Why would they pick Noddy, the short prick. He is an idiot, and he doesn' even deserve a spot. He can't even make NSW for christ's sake.

I played juniors. It is a 2 dayer, but they have already won, bowling us out for 34 (me - 1). They are 5/69 (Me 2/9 off 2 overs). But they may go for the outright, we will find out next week. Just about to leave for seniors. -MDG

Did you guys watch the Union this morning? It was horrible. The Wallabies got smashed by the French team. It was OK up until half-time, but after that we just sucked. confused.gif

We lost in the League as well. But the Limeys.

Oh, the humanity!

Yeah, a bit dissapointing. We haven't got a great Aussie team this year in rugby, mainly because most other teams have based their play around what we did in the 99 world cup. I was reading Larkham's book, and he said that the winners of each world cup are disadvantaged the next time around because they don't know what to improve, but the other teams do.

In league, I was talking to my mate today and I told him that it's harder in Rugby, because there is actually more of a threat from other countries, and a lot more countries play. But in league, there is only 3 or 4 teams that actually have any shot at all at the world title.

Well, what an eventful weekend of cricket. After taking 2/9 in juniors, I went to seniors, and we had them 2/0 after two balls. At drinks (20 overs), hey were 5/62. They got a move on and ended up with 131. Now, we only had 9 players, making it harder. I bowled 6 overs, 1/25, with about 4 dropped catches off my bowling.

As we only had 9 players, I batted number 9. With 20 overs left, we needed 30 to win, but then one of our dead batters went in, and we still needed eleven runs with 3 overs left. I went in then. The other bloke hit a 6, and then a 2. That put the deficit at 3. I hit 2 off the first ball of the next over. That tied it up. Next ball, lollipop, couldn't get enough under it, and was caught at mid on. A tie game. Crazy sh*t.

In rep, we sent them out to field, and at 17 overs were a bit sluggish with 2/35. After that, we got a move on, moving to 4/about 80 after 35 overs, one of the openers getting out on 46. At the end, we were 9/137, a defendable target. I didn't bat, I was a 12th man batter. We went out, and started to field, and after 17 overs they were on 20 runs. they got a little bit of a move on, but we bowled them out for 55 after 35 overs. So they didn't have much chance of hitting the runs. Our best bowler for the day got 4/5 off 10 overs. I didn't bowl either. I probably would've come on in the last 15 overs and bowled 6 or 7 then, but we got them out too quick.

THat's about it. -MDG

Sounds like you had a busy weekend. Good to see you winning again.

I think the fact that we had Noddy playing again was enough for us to lose the rugby league match.

Cricket tomorrow!

Cricket tomorrow!

Sheeprooters are going down.

Hooray. It doesn't have it in the TV guides, meh, must be a misprint.

They are planning on making a new rule in the NRL to interchange tiring refrees. A panel of former first graders will closely watch to look for signs of tiring. They can be interchanged at any time, and be brought back on any time. If the game isn't running freely, they can be interchanged.

Sort of strange, but it could work. I'd make them try it first in the trial games. -MDG

Theorectical situation.

Would you walk? Seriously.

Test Berth

Centre stage in the best cricket team in the world

Being a not so great batter, no I wouldn't, but if it was your first game, you would be trying to get on the umpires side for later in your career. No, I wouldn't walk though.

Sort of stupid really, but it is the batter's choice. I can understand walking before the umpire makes his decision, but walking after he has said not out is just stupid. You are trying to win a game, not get the umpire to pull out his good book and tear out a page for you.

But, as I said, it is the batter's choice.

I watched a little bit of the cricket this morning on TV and saw Martyn get out on 70 with a mistimed shot. Gilchrist and Vetorri were having a good little battle with Gilly not getting many runs but now he has a half century and Clarke has a century.

Gilleh - 126

We rock so much. So very very much.

Edit: McGrath got a f*cking 6! sh*t Gilly's reaction was priceless.

Him and Gillespie are both going for their highest scores. Glenn's was 39, and Dizzy's is 47.

I was playing seniors cricket when I first heard about it.

Anyways, in seniors, we got 9/157 off 40 overs. I batted last and got 3 runs of a 20 run partnership. We went out, and they hit the runs with about 2 overs left. I bowled sh*t, 0/21 off 3.

We didn't play juniors, it was called off, and I don't play rep this week. -MDG

McGrath got 61 and Gillespie not out on 54. I think everyone was surprised at how McGrath batted. Sheep shaggers are currently 7/69 so it should be all over by the end of the day.

Yeah, clarkey played well.

If it wasn't for him and Gilly, and a bit of magic from our tailend, we would've maybe even gone in behind their runs.

All out 76. Australia will probably lose the next Rugby League test match. -MDG

Well I am going to the 3rd day and mabye bits of the 2nd in the Adelaide Test. gonna get me a sunburn smile.gif

Really? Cool.

That should be fun, get pissed, eat 10 pies and bring 10 mates.

Hopefully you will see Clarkey, and maybe even Pigeon McGrath hit centuries.

Anyways, I won't be here from tommorow morning until monday arvo, so this will probably be my last post here until then. By till then. -MDG

I wonder if we'll see Jay on TV making a fool of himself? You shouldn't encourage him to get pissed, he's bad enough already.

Have fun wherever you're going, MDG.

I generally do. I nearly fell over the fence when Australia A was playing Zimbabwe. I am normally down at third man when they are bowling from the River torrens end/ city end.

I have to play cricket this saturday in 35 degree heat. f*cking hell.

Aussies had another good day of batting and declared at 8/575. Langer got a double century while the sheep shaggers are now 1/35.

Edit: Sheep shaggers all out for 251 and Aussies now 0/57 giving us a lead of 381 runs.

Yeah, hey dudes, I'm back.

Australia is playing well from what I have seen. They batted for a little while, getting 2/139, and sent NZ back into bat, needing 464 to win. They are 5/149, after a god partnership from Astle and Oram, who is on 40, and now in a good partnership with McCullum. All the bowlers have a wicket.

I'll see you tommorow with the final score. Hayden took a nasty one on the chin. -MDG

We won. Big whoop. So surprising.

Scores soon.

Yeah, I won't put them up right now. Vettori hit 50 odd. All the tail for both teams are batting fairly well.

NZ all out 250. -MDG

We won. Big whoop. So surprising.

Scores soon.

Yeah, I won't put them up right now. Vettori hit 50 odd. All the tail for both teams are batting fairly well.

NZ all out 250. -MDG

Do you want me to post the score card for the cricket test between Australia and New Zealand?

Um, did you read the first post, or even my last one? Anyways, that's already my job, but unless you want to put the test score into a table every time a game goes over, you can do that. If not, I will keep my job.

We need consistency, and we can't just have someone chip in one week, considering the lack of aussie sports fans on this forum, we need to work together. I ain't being unfriendly, I'm actually offering you a job.

Happy 16th Jayza, saw it down the bottom. -MDG

Nice to have another Aussie with us. New Zealand didn't put up much of a fight. Their team that played us a few years ago was a lot better IMO. The one dayers should be starting shortly which will hopefully be a little more exciting.
