Aussie Sports 0
Credit to General_Tryst for the Banner Find out who supports who here. Hey guys, and welcome to the Australian Sports topic. Each week me, Storm., Mr Leone, Fuzzy Juzzy and Chalk will be updating you on info from all three with a Top 8 Table from NRL and AFL, along with weekly scores, whilst keeping you up to date with the latest Aussie Test Match scores. If you want to help, PM me, Storm., Mr Leone, Fuzzy Juzzy or Chalkstar2188 and inform us so, as we would love to be able to have one in charge of each code, and maybe eventually we could have a full review on each match, if we get enough help. Note: We now only need people to do reviews on Rugby Union. We are now showing Fixtures for Next Week as well. We are now doing cricket as well. In possibly the most bizarre, yet scintillating and exciting cricket matches in the history of the game, an amazing 870 runs was hit in the deciding match of the Australia vs South Africa ODI game. Australia first flew past the 400 mark, the first team to do so, and ended up with 434, the highest total by almost 40 runs. Ricky Ponting blased 165 off 105 balls, and Hussey chipped in with 81 off 51. Katich also got himself 79 runs and Gilchrist surpassed 50 as well. Australia had all but won the game at the end of their innings, but all credit goes to South Africa for fighting it out. When they got to 200 runs after just 22 overs, thanks to a blazing innings by captain Graeme Smith, who pounded 90 off 55 balls. With 20 balls to go, needing 30 runs and only two wickets in hand, Mark Boucher and Makhaya Ntini finally broke it open. With 2 balls to go and needing just 2 runs for victory, Boucher smacked one over Mid On's head, and history was made. In the space of just two hours, after 30 years of trying, the 400 barrier had been broken - twice. This was the pinnacle for both teams, and congratulations to both teams on an outstanding game. None beats the efforts of South Africa, playing it to the death. But who cares about ARU, seriously? just a quick question...whats the difference between league and union? Sorry, this coming from a guy who hasnt watched Australian rugby since the Western Reds died lol.
Storm. 1
Rugby league is played with 13 players per team with 4 reserves and union with 15 players and 7 reserves. In union they kick for touch more often and don't play the ball like league. Union also has lineouts whenever the ball goes over the touch line so league is a lot more flowing and therefore more enjoyable to watch. However, union is played by a lot more countries than league. Mafia Drive Gunner 2
Hows it goin all you footy freaks, I'm the new footy match reviewer I'll be glad to bring you all the lastest reviews on the matches Yesh, as you can see in the team table, Mr Leone will be doing reviews of each game in the AFL each week. After much layout change, I think you can now see what our main page will look like most of the time, except the team table will be extended as more people become a part of our team. And I'm out. cice 0
I'm a big fan of the Essendon Bombers, been going for them since 1996. But I don't really care for Rugby, never been into it.

But I don't really care for Rugby, never been into it. Yesh, I must say that AFL wise I go for Essendon, but I am really a rugby Union player/rugby league and union supporter. I think that Brisbane are the Roosters of AFL, unstoppable, making the grand final almost every year consistently, the Roosters have made the NRL Grand Final 3 times in the last 5 years, and Brisbane have one the last 2 in a row. cice 0
The Brisbane Lions have won the last 3 premierships. And they're gonna win the next 3. Unfortionetly I just watched essendon get their asses kick by St. Kilda, and now we (essendon) might not make the finals.
Mafia Drive Gunner 2
Completely updated for your convenience. Storm. 1
I am annoyed because I came very close to tipping a perfect round but the Knights lost in golden point time. On a much brighter note, the Lions absolutely smashed Adelaide Crows. Did anyone see the highlights of the Storm-Eels match? Matt Orford was in top form scoring a hat-trick of tries and 3 goals. I reckon he should have played Origin footy by now.

I reckon he should have played Origin footy by now. Yes, that is the third time this year that the knights have stopped me from tipping a perfect round, even though they are my favourite team. I must stay loyal. Orford should already be playing for Oz when Johnsy is out. I went to the knights game against the broncos last week. It was a good game.
Justin 13
The Knights are my favourite team also. But it really, really, really annoys me at their inabillity to win the simplest of games with Andrew Johns in their line-up. Honestly! They have Australian representative players, in Ben Kennedy, Timana Tahu, Steve Simpson, Danny Buderus, Matthew Gidley, and state reps in Josh Perry, Mark Hughes and Robbie O'Davis, and they STILL CAN'T WIN WITHOUT ANDREW JOHNS. Worse still, Ben Kennedy and Timana Tahu are leaving the club at the end of the season, just to cover the rising cost of Andrew Johns and Kurt Gidley. However we did purchase Kirk Reynoldson. If Andrew Johns gets injured again next season, you can count on the Newcastle Knights to lose almost every match remaining! And I absolutley HATE the Brisbane Broncos, sorry if anyone here supports them, but they Fu**ing P!ss me off. 'scuse language

Storm. 1
@fuzzy: Good to have another Aussie posting in here. It baffles me why the Knights struggle so much without Johns when they have so many other good players. I was most annoyed when they signed Kirk Reynoldson from the Storm. He is a really good forward and no doubt will fill the void left by Ben Kennedy. I hate the Broncos as well. @Mr Leone: I look forward to reading the match reviews.

Mafia Drive Gunner 2
Thanks mate for the reviews. @ what storm said 'bout the knights: Yesh, Reynoldson will make a big difference to the morale of the team, he is a good player. I think that the knights need to get their thum out of their arse and start to play for themselves and not put the pressure on johnsy. My rugby team that I play for is undefeated, because even when we have good rep players out, we don't whinge, we get out their and try even harder to win. Without one of the best ones last week we won 55 - 0. The knights need to stop saying "oh, it's just 'coz Joey's out". They need to start to say , "Right, now he's out, we are going to win it for his sake, look at our team, we have a heap of good pleayers, lets f*cking do this and do it right". Sorry, but it's the truth. Guys, what do you think of the new thing how I have the logos and sh*t. Edited July 27, 2004 by MaFiA DrIvE gUnNeR
Storm. 1
I like those AFL match reviews, short and to the point. The logos are good, you mentioned that you want to get rid of the white backgrounds. If you have Photoshop you should be able to make it transparent. It's good to see that the Storm have signed 3 key forwards in the last week to strengthen their team for next year. Do you play for a school rugby team, MDG?

I play comp rugby and a bit for school, in fact, I was meant to be playing in a sevens comp for school today but it got called off. @ the photoshop thingy: Yeah, but since my brother never taught me anything at all about it I can't use it for sh*t. Storm. 1
Those logos look really good now, I don't think the side sig rotator would fit in with my current sig though. Maybe when I get my new sig it will fit.
Mafia Drive Gunner 2
Ok, sounds all good. Rugby on tonight, but I honestly think South Africa will win it. John Sattler has been named as the captain of the Rabbitohs All Time Greats team. Well deserved. Go the knights, we can win this weekend, we are versing the Rabbits, so we better win or I'm going to be pissed off. Trent Barrett and Mark Gasnier were in a car crash, but no one got hurt, but they are lucky Gasnier didn't do any more damge to his broken collarbone.
