@Cai-pirinha: Hey, thanks smile.gif I spose I could do one, but there's this one here by Cran.

 

@Silberio: Nope I never finished this model for GTA. It was all sorted to go into NFS4 before the plug on the LeMans mod was pulled. I don't like it enough to bother trying to convert it across, I'd rather re-make it...not that I've got plans just yet to do so. Maybe in the future.

Note to all using this tutorial: Just use a decent graphics package like Photoshop or Paintshop Pro if you want, as long as the exported images are the same.

 

In fact, I have decided, considering the amount of questions I get asked about this tutorial either via PM or MSN, I am to remake this tutorial and add other sections to it. My plan is to run it alongside creation of a Myriad Islands car, and hopefully log everything from choosing blueprints up to getting it in game. I plan to start work on this soon.

I'll try to make my car box shaped, though really I don't need to use a boxy car when doing the tutorial, just choose a boxy car yourself as it generally requires less fiddling to get it looking right.

 

Still, I spose if i choose a car that the user can also do and thus compare their model to mine as they progress in the tutorial then it might get me less "I'm stuck what do I do?" questions.

I see you've found how to move vertices using the side and top views. To make polygons curve, just do a mixture. A vertex can be moved in any axis, to any position you want. Use this to curve vertices around bends etc. Also curvy parts of cars naturally need more polygons than flat parts.

As I've said, Create>Faces>Single to add more polygons to existing Surfaces, the Modify move and use all 3 views to move the Vertices (red dots) where you want em. Make sure you're in Vertices mode of course for that. Vertices mode is explained in the tutorial.

Thanks how do I put pics on the model in my 3d window because its sorta hard tounge.gif and how do I make the other side of the bus??? some kind of copy selection?

To make the other side of the bus, select>all the object, Press the space bar to turn on "SEL" mode, thenCreate>Objects>Copy. Next, Modify>Reorient this new object, then make sure only the "H" of the "H", "V" and "D" buttons are selected at the top, then Modify>Mirror and Mirror the object in either front OR top view.

 

You'll have mirrored the other side of the coach.

Didnt work.. what do when I "Modify>Reorient this new object" because i got lost there

 

EDIT: I have these images that might be to small/big how can i find out how to resize them? and what

sizes to resize them

Sorry for bumping, but when i import the blueprints of the cars in Zmodeler, it's upside down! How do i flip it back up?

 

EDIT: Never mind. I uninstalled Zmodeler for a while, then reinstalled and it's fine now smile.gif

Firstly, Select>All when in objects mode to select everything

 

Hit the space bar (to make sure the "SEL" button is selected)

 

Create>Objects>Copy

Modify>Mirror

Modify>Reorient

 

Tadaa, the other side of the car!

Ugh. Same Problem As well. I clicked Create. Then I clicked on Surfaces. And I dont see a Flat. All i see it Grid Loft and Revolved. Can you Post a picture with the exact location Of This Create>Surfaces>Flat Please?

U need something to open and edit the txd files then edit the skin of the hydra in the txd file (hydra.txd in gta3.img) u will also need imgtool to open the .img archive, then with a adobe photo shop or something like that program edit the skin of the hydra.

Just google the tools if you can't find them.

The file I made in Xara is not opening in Zmod. The file format is not supported or something. Am I doing this right? I Ctrl+N in Xara, paste bitmap from paint and save as in Xara but file isn't available for Backgound>Image>Load Image>add in Zmod. dontgetit.gif

How do i make the bits of the cars change colours in game as mine only comes up white and i have added textures!!!!!

 

I am editing a car that is already in the game but the new bits i have added dont change colour in game they stay white and the old bits change colour i go to the pay n spray and it still is white!!!!!

delete any old textures, like u do when changing certain rim mods.
