Tutorial Requests

In the 'movies' folder, there are two movies - one displays the Rockstar logos, and the other displays a credits sequence. Is it possible to replace these with different movies? In the case of a total conversion mod, it would take away from the atmosphere of the TC's world for two movies that don't have anything to do with the TC to play right from the get-go.

 

I have heard that it is not 'really' possible, because the movies are "hardcoded into the executable." However, I'm not entirely sure what that means, and haven't heard if there is or isn't a way around this. I have also heard that a user named kyeman found a way to remove the movies. And, lastly, I heard that it would take a great deal of work to completely change what plays there.

 

May I please request a tutorial for replacing the two opening movies?

Could someone please write a tutorial on how to change the colour and image of the graffiti tags.

 

I am making a CSI - mod and I would like the player to be able to go up to a tag and then spray it ( Just like normal spraying over a tag ) and then once that is done a finger print shows up or something like that.

 

I would have to make the enemy gang tags invisible some-how, and then when you spray over the "invisible" tag your tag shows up which in this case is a fingerprint.

It's very easy to do that.

 

Just go into the Movies folder and say you want to replace the Logo.mpg movie, then get the movie you want to replace it with name the movieLogo.mpg and delete the other one and it should then work.

 

I have tried it on mine and it works.

@ Flitcroft101, there are already tutorials for adding weapon spawns in the sticky post 'tutorials archive' on this very page, you'll want to head for the 'coding' section and read the tutorials:-

'Adding car spawn locations' and 'yeti's coding tutorial parts 1&2' (this ones for vice city but the same applies with san andreas).

...reading back a bit i just want to say thanks to Cerbera in particular for trying to catch up with questions here. My own experience of using the search function is that it does indeed find appropriate threads... amongst sometimes pages of other irrelevant stuff. I often need to refer to several threads to find the answers i seek an no information seems to be all in one place or easy to find. There's a huge demand for information and people are busy either working or modding rolleyes.gif ,and responses are slow so i guess we need to be tolerant, the game hasn't been out long on PC.

There's alot of stuff relevant to older GTA games also which can be confusing, maybe in time the modding forums can have a separate section for san andreas, which would also make searching easier.

i request a tutorial for converting an nfs:hp2 Ford mustang svt cobra r to san an with its wheels,interior,reflections,and how to put it in the game ,all step by step for zmod 2 unregistered(my parents won't let me) and zmod 1.07

I'd like to see properly texturing an island as a tutorial. I have been experimenting with many things in GTA lately and most things I try cause a crash. No idea why, or how to check lol. I'm pretty sure that Terrain crashes have to do withA: I use DreamScape and B I don't texture them because when I do they look crazy. I know I'm going to have to UV a beach and then the half each/ half grass area, and then the full grass further inland, but I really don't feel like doing until there's a tut :Plol

EDIT: Found the 'sampler' pack of models from the Z2 site, but it isn't helping that much... >_>;;;

I think it'd be important that some expert gta moders like Steve, Kam, Dup, ect., would maybe get to gether in this and make a good tutorail covering all aspects of moddeling. There is a lot of good people out there, like me, that really want to keep gta sa, the last, alive. the more guys we got moding the better the game will get. the problem with this forum is it is nearly impossible to find what your looking or even if the help you need exist. ive been trying to find help for like a week now and got nowhere.

I know theres good moddelers out there that could make some tyte cars, weapons, buildings, ect. but they dont know how to put in gta sa format. Im just talking about basics:

-settng up your model ,doors, hood, ect.

-textures ,how to set up 3dsmax materials and use txd ect.

 

even if you just answer my questions ill make a tutorail.

Hmm...at a guess, head over to the Vehicles Showroom and try to d/l a plane mod...for example theres on for a Boeing 747. Open the .dff of that in zmod and tadaa, a plane model thats a bit simpler...Hydras a bit too complex really.

 

Weapons tutorial eh? well, look at a car tutorial, and apply almost exactly the same theory to weapons..easy. - GTAuron

Well, this request has gone by probaly a thousend times, but this is more......personal.

I wan't to model a car in 3ds max 6.... STOP don't go to a other subforum... tounge.gif , I know that there are a lot of tuts on the NET, ALTHOUGH it will be much appreciated if someone (rather with a long modeling XP. will post it) post a link where they (so that practically means YOU) learned to model (a car in 3ds max 6).

Is that what you want? If not I will edit it smile.gif after all no point making a tut if nobody uses it! lol. Also, if you want other aircraft files in ZM2 .z3d format, just give us a bell smile.gif though they're all about the same as the AT-400, or simpler. - GTAuron
