I would love it if someone could write a tutorial for making a car mod. Not just for me, but for everyone here. (It would stop all of the "HOW DO U MAKE TEH MODS?!!1!1!?" threads...) I would much appreciate it if the tutorial would walk the reader through the entire proccess, from scratch, like they had never even heard of modding. I am hoping that it will include modeling, texturing, and of course, making the mod work. (And if anyone would like to go the extra mile, everyone loves screenshots.... biggrin.gif )

 

Somebody taught you, isn't it only fair that you pass the knollege along? Pleeeeeeeease??? blush.gif

Properly not possible in general, so there won't be a tutorial on it. However File Splitter can split any kind of files for you, although if your planning on shearing the file clients will also require the program to piece the file back together.

I was wondering if someone could make a tutorial about the modelling and texturing of roads (highways, in perticular) in 3ds max. Maybe with the loft tool? I hope I haven't made a mistake and posted this when somebody already has. I just couldn't read 14 pages biggrin.gif

Try the SA-MP.com Forums or the Main Site. The Modding Tutorial Section here is separate from the actual SA-MP Website and Modifications. We don't really answer many questions about there modifications as there both separate projects wink.gif.

FLAGS

I'm learning to change my SCM file and have been told I could save some space by using Flags in my code. I'm not familiar with flags and I am having trouble finding any info. I'm not sure if this is complex enough to justify a tutorial but I'm lost.

If there is already a tutorial or other info that may help me I only ask where to look. Thanks.

Is there, or can someone make, a tutorial about how to add custom head/tail (etc) lights (not the modeling part)to a custom vehicle in SA?

I simply mean, how do you make sure you (when you have a model which the lights are on the top on the roof, for example)that the light is emitted from those lights and not that you see the light shines from the place the light used to are (standard places on vehicles in SA).

 

If it is not SA specific, it is fine to.

First off sorry for posting before reading blush.gif

 

I want the driver seat to be on the right side of the vehicle and I did that by siwtching the ped_frontseat but Cj still wants to enter on the left side of the vehicle and he still exits on the left side. I want Cj to enter and exit though the right side door.

I've played with the hierarchy and nothing yet and I'm not sure if it would be in the MAIN.scm. So would anyone know how I could do this?

This would be great for you european guys.

I'd like a path editing tutorial for Vice City please. As far as I can see, it's pretty simple but the read me for the Path Editor confuses me.

How about a tutorial that lists and semi-explains the steps in creating a working car for VC? IE...

Step 1 - Create Car Mesh in Zmod.

Step 2 - Adjust Normals.

Step 3 - UV Map Car.

Step 4 - Create Dummies.

Step 5 - Organize Heirarchy

Step 6... (Create Col file?)

 

Because i see tutorials on top of tutorials on how to do different things. But i dont know in what order these things are done. Also include wat steps are manditory. Such as the UV mapping... (Is that required?)

I would like that too.

 

I have written a couple of missions for SA and don't know how to make them available in-game. I think what I need to learn how to make is a sniffer?!?! Please reply or PM me if you can help...

I am pretty sure that some mods exist that let you fly as high as you want. As for the speed limit, editing the handling.cfg will do marvels wink.gif

All is possible, but some things are just not worth it. It depends what physics you want to change, for a start...

I want to change the car physics, again can be done in a CFG editor. I am making a Drift/NFS mod for SA, and I wanted to change the car physics similar to NFS: Carbon.
