ESpark 0
Today I was playing a save game of mine. I finish a few rampages, and my game gets a little choppy. So, I save and quit. I come back a little while later and attempt to load my game. It 'loads', but stops at a black screen. I restart, attempt to load it. Doesn't work. I load another save, and it loads. I reinstall, attempt to load it. Doesn't work. Swap back in the original EXE. Nothing. Swap back the no-cd one. Nothing. my system is almost double the sys. reqs, and I've never experienced this before. Pardon if this has been solved, but the search is practically worthless when you factor in the slow forum speed and the 60-seconds-between-searches block.

ESpark 0
Delete gta_vc.set from the My Documents\GtA Vice City User Files Folder? That worked to allow me to load the game, but if I attempt to change the resolution from anything above 640x480, I get the same error again - the savegame refuses to load. EDIT: I think I figured it out. On a whim, I looked at Audio Options. The one below mp3 music boost or whatever was set at something I never set it to, and one that it never found when I did Auto-figure-out before. Setting it to directsound or whatever, my original save seems to load fine. Odd. Edited May 22, 2004 by ESpark
