If you got a Les Paul for $900 you made out pretty well.

I got two of my 3 lace sensors in (the neck pickup is still in the mail sad.gif) and they sound great. Cheers fellas.

If you look at the last page, I just bought a new Les Paul (Special) for $650. It even has the 490R and 498T pickups.

The Specials have always been cheaper though... not too far under the Studio models. But his looks like a Custom, and those run around $3000 new. Still, $650 is a damn good deal.

I've decided my next guitar is either going to be an inexpensive 12-string (they had a nice Alvarez at the music store) or either a Martin D15 (I'd love a D28 but I can't afford it) or this sweet Tele I saw. Natural finish 50's reissue with a black pickguard and a Bigsby. Heh, I'd like one of those '59 Marshall Plexi reissue heads too, but that definitely isn't in the budget.

Honestly, that is f*cking sexy. DiMarzio pick-ups too, which I'm beginning to like ever since nope^3 mentioned them.

After that, I'm going to get a custom. Or some Gibby.

But honestly, look at that axe! Holy crap! Hopefully, by summer, or for sure September. It's like 3 grand, but it is f*cking AWESOME. Much love, GiS.

Hm, isn't thaty Steve Vai's signature?

And damn, you don't know how hard it is to get a left-handed Les Paul. You both got off easy. sad.gif

gtaguy116: That certainly doesn't read "Gibson" on the head. Hell, if I didn't know any better, I'd say it read "Fender".

Hey Getaway in Stockholm,

I really want one of those too.

When you do get it, make sure you get a pre 2002 model, they had Ebony fretboards, and the new ones have Rosewood fretboards. They are really nice, but not as cool as an Ebony board.

I love those Phil Collen guitars, those are pretty cool. Probably the only Jackson I'd be interested in.

Yeah Kirk Hammett.

LTD KH-602. I didn't wanna wait for an ESP to arrive, so I just got an LTD.

But the EMG pickups are just like...Woah. In terms of playability, I can play with no hands now. happy.gif Lol. =P Much love, GiS.

'Ello chaps.

I've been playing electric guitar since January now, and I'm pretty good now, good enough to feel the need for a new guitar. Because the one I got was only like £70 or something, because I just needed something sh*te that I could learn on.

Well, now I've learnt, and I'd like something I can play on.

So what I'm asking for is, reliable brand names, and some good places to buy from.

Cheers. smile.gif

Buy from Musician's Friend. I get all my sh*t there, and I like it. As for guitars, just look around stores, play some and see what sounds and feels best to you.

The Truth.
Yeah, just repeating what Rayo Puno said, go to some music stores and play some and you'll get one you like.

@Matt: Ibanez.

Sturdy, great tone, reasonably priced, versatile.

If your looking for prices you might want to check out http://www.gak.co.uk

@Rayo: Isnt musicans friend USA only?

I'd happily take this 65 Jazzmaster. And I wouldn't mind it being chipped.

And yes, it was the first one on Google Image search. I've always wanted a Jazz. My brother has one and it is the sweetest guitar I've ever played.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

How are the Jaguar reissues?

@ Matt: I'd reccomend a low-end Fender. The mexican strats are very good quality for the price, and with a new set of pickups they sound spectacular. It all depends on your price range though. And I'd suggest you throw as much money into your guitar as you can... if you invest in something nice, that's one less thing you'll have to upgrade later. I.E. instead of buying an 'ok' amp and guitar, keep a cheap amp and buy a good guitar. That way you just need to replace the amp next time around, where you'd want to replace both otherwise.

A standard strat or tele will probably run you about $370 from Musician's Friend.

RE Ibanez: I wasn't very impressed with mine, but my brother has one from their Artist line that sounds quite nice.

Thanks for the responses, guys, mucho appreciated. I'm currently browsing the two sites, getting a general idea and such.

I'm willing to spend around the £200 mark, which I believe is around $380, if that helps.

And oh yeah, I'm feeling the Les Paul style guitars more than the strats. How are Epiphone as a brand?

GetawayInStockholm

Epiphone is to Gibson as sh*t is to Ass.

I don't feel like thinking.

But bro, you've only been playing for like 4 months. You don't need a new guitar.

So an Epiphone does fit you. Or you can an LTD.

http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_ec.htm for Les Paul style.

http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_viper.htm SG

I'd also recommend Ibanez though. Or a washburn. Much love, GiS.

Les Pauls are awesome guitars. I love everything about mine. Great finish, great sound, great guitar. Of course, it'll probably take getting used to. A switch from something like a Strat to a Les Paul is a big jump, of course. The weight is also something which will probably take getting used to. It's the lightest guitar out there. They'll probably tell you all of this at the time of your purchase, but it helps to know, eh?

Another thing, the necks are somewhat delicate, so one drop on the headstock, and it'll more than likely snap. All in all, it's a sturdy, high quality guitar, but it's best to be careful with something like that.

Also, does anyone have an suggestions for a good, fairly cheap amp? My budget is around $600-$700, and I'm thinking about a Fender Twin Reverb, or a Marshall. Thanks.
