What style of bass do you play. Cause if your into playing any kind of metal that bass will serve you just fine bc rich know how to make a good guitar just stay away from the bronze series.

It's a knock-off I got from my sisters boyfriend.

 

"Seville" is the only thing it says on it at the top of the fretboard.

 

The amp is a Frontman 25R.

Hey guys, I just picked up an original dunlap crybaby wah pedal and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips, or maybe a website with some lessons or something on them. It sounds good but I can't play it worth a crap.

well other than playing sweet dreams over and over...

if you can play with the pic and side of your thumb at the same time to make the (art. harm's) use the peddle at the same time as your harmonic and get it timed to some cool riff to unleash a lethal squeel, i mean its nasty! then change the octive with the peddle it will sound as if your all over the board.

I've been thinking about getting into the Guitar for quite a while now, so i've read up at about.com, and i've decided to go for a cheapish Electric Guitar package (probably from an eBay wholesaler).

 

So I went searching and found this (Behringer V-Tone Guitar Pack).

 

Is Behringer a known brand, and what is their reputation like?

 

On that description page, it has vintage and classic written quite a few times.

What do these mean in Guitar terms, and would it be a good Guitar pack for playing general rock (one day )?

Don't get that, I got a Berhinger, and they're horrible guitars, the action on them is horrible, and they don't even sound good, for a begginer I would recomend a Squier, I got a squier, it's not a strat style though, it's called an S73, looks exactly like a Gibson SG, great playin guitar...

I'll have to disagree with you there (in my opinion). I got that V-tone beginner pack from beringer and I love it. Of course, it was my first electric, so i can't compare the action to other electrics, but I'm happy with it. The amp can't handly any volumes higher than 4 on full drive, it sounds bad.

Squiers are terrible guitars, especially the affinity series.

 

For a beginner guitar pack I'd go Encore or Ibanez.

Yeah, I would definately recommend an Encore as a beginner guitar. I started out with, and still use my Encore Strat copy - you can't be the lush warm tone, and the price to build quality ratio.

I can do really simple ones, at like 3/4 the speed. I'm just starting, it's not that hard actually, you just need good reflexes and fast fingers.

 

Also, what's the fastest song you guys can play? Mine is Master of Puppets - Metallica. (S&M Version). Both Solo's.

I'm working on Eruption right now. Effin hard.

Eh, Im not big on signature models. They are overpriced just because of the artist who plays it.

 

I am however a fan of ESP/LTD instruments. This white Viper Bass is hawt.

I dont like ESP's at all, none have ever really felt right to me.

 

I dont really like signature models in general. The only reason I would buy a signature is because it has a special feature found no where else that is quite desireable.

 

But even then I would be reluctant. Hell, I dont even think I would have a signature guitar, even if Ibanez or Fender walked up to me and wanted me to design them one.

Thunderstruck isn't hard at all it's pretty much down picking, with pull offs.

I recently started learning guitar and bought myself a second hand electric GRX20 Ibanez. I've been messing about just doing some random stuff for about a week and have been wondering whats a good way to teach myself?

It's actually worth it. EMG-81 pickups, and the thing handles like a beaut.

$1500, but it's f*cking worth it. Getting a new Randall too. Just a small one, cuz I blew my home one. Gunna get Triple/Double Mesa Boogie Rectifiers soon. That or Marshall JCM2000 DSL. Forgot which one. but one of the heads.

 

Anyone here use guitar-pro? I like it, but I can't gind any other tab sites for GP4.

I must say that Mesa Boogie amps are awful. They are horribly muddy! That probably explains why so many like them, they can let their technique slide as they hide behind the wall of mush.

 

Marshall has completely fallen apart. The JCM 2000's are the lousiest excuse for a tube amp that I have ever seen. Thin, buzzy, grainy, grindy, not musical, loose-as-hell bottom end, high end sizzle. I dont know how anybody could actually spend the money on that.

 

I wouldn't ever get a $1500 ESP KH-602. For these reasons:

 

1. Overpriced. Your basically handing Kirk Hammett $300

 

2. Its a signature gutiar. Thats somebody else's guitar, and you will forever look like a silly Metallica fanboy for as long as you play that guitar. Sure, it may not be the reason you buy it, but your going to get tired of explaining to everybody that you "want it for the features"

 

3. EMG's are harsh and have more output than is necessary for any application. I would take a dimarzio anyday, so I can have a musical, sweet sounding instrument, and if I need distoriton, it will come from my amp, and not from the pickup.

 

4. Its an ESP. If you want to get another boring black guitar with a rosewood fretboard, go ahead and knock your socks off. I would get a used M-II or something if you want to go the ESP route.
