<!--SF-->Okay,

I'm torn between the two...

Classic

Freshley

Lil' help?

I'm buying in about 2 days time.

<!--EF-->

I'd go for the Frehleyone, because it's better, imo. Just to be associated with Kiss, and also the 3 humbuckers.

And, talking about start imitations, one of my current guitars is a strat copy, and it's one of the nicest guitars I've ever played or heard for that matter. It's such a nice tone, and a lot of people upon hearing my strat copy, and my Epiphone, would choose the strat copy every time.

Yeah, my current guitar is a replica. It's a solid guitar, nothing wrong with it. Even though it's a replica, it still has a nice sound. Imo, sounds way better than my friend's Fender.

Today, in English class, we all have these folders that we have customized drawings on. And this one kid was like "Fenders Rock!" and he had a picture of a very poorly tuned guitar (tuning pegs looked unraveled) but it was an ibanez. You could tell by how the horns looked, they were all pointed and not smooth like Fender. Plus it had no pickgaurd and crappy looking humbuckers.

I started laughing at him until I realized that I actually realized that I found those things.

Anyway, Im starting to crave that custom guitar project me and my dad have been talking about. We've got the body and we're just fantasizing about the color while we're sanding it.

My parents took me out to a music store to get a new acoustic for my birthday. We were looking around the $500-800 (Canadian) range, and I chose an Epiphone EJ 200CE. It's a beautiful big guitar.

Same sunburst and hardware as mine:

Well, I can honestly say, I've just broke my G-string while fingering a minor. Earlier, I broke my D-string. But I'm not even hitting hard. sad.gif

This sucks.

What strings do you use?

Ernie Ball's Super Slinky.. 9s. They've got a nice sound, and they don't usually snap like that. It MAY have somerhing to do with the metal pick I was using..

Ernie Ball strings are pretty cheap. They dont last long at all.

Check out DR strings. biggrin.gif

i am a begginer, so i probably have the suckiest guitar in this thread. i have had a washburn acoustic for a while, and recently decided to move up to and electric. i went to walmart(yeah they were really cheap and i thout i might lose interest) and got a first act dual cutaway one. it has three pickups, and it sounds quite good. i bought a used peavy 15 watt amp. i havnt broken any strings yet in the few months that i have had it. i might be able to get a pic up sometime but not yet.

Hey I'm looking into getting a new amp for my birthday, but im not quite sure on what to get. Anyone think of a good one without paying a fortune? Anyway here is one I was thinking of: Line 6 Spider II

Hey, I just got a acoustic guitar the other day from a friend. I've been looking at some stuff on how to tune it and how to read music. I kept seeing the word fret, like "second string, first fret" or "102001." But I have no idea what a fret is. I think it's all those metal things. If I'm right, can someone tell me which ones are which?(1st fret, second, ect.) Google has been no help. I also need to go buy some beginner books or something. Also, if anyone has any tips for a beginner, I would be happy to hear them. Thanks.

That carries on up the fretboard (which is the surface of the neck that you finger when playing).

The "1st string" is the highest toned string (the one closest to the ground when holding the guitar in playing position). "2nd string" is the second highest toned string, etc.

I actualy like Line 6. Friend has one, sounds great. If not that, I'd say a Vox, or just going with the regular Marshal. Store here just got 50 Watt Vox's, which I will be getting for my birthday, and need, considering my current amp plays the country radio station.

Dont get a Line 6. Trust me..

Agreed. They're terrible. I cannot stand their tone.

That sounded so f*cked up.

Oh yeah, and my band is finally recording some sh*t. East coast Oi! punk at its finest... well, almost finest.

Then what should I get, that doesnt help much.

go with a crate. (if you like it heavy for sure) for around $400 you can get 120 watts of power pushing thru two 12's. with DSP onboard you get plenty of effects aswell, and comes with a nifty little pedal. i had one and the only reason i dont have it is because i upgraded to a crate tube halfstack and tossed in a dime MXR distortion peddle up in the mix. now i rule smile.gif

I've been thinking about getting into the Guitar for quite a while now, so i've read up at about.com, and i've decided to go for a cheapish Electric Guitar package (probably from an eBay wholesaler).

So I went searching and found this (Behringer V-Tone Guitar Pack).

Is Behringer a known brand, and what is their reputation like?

On that description page, it has vintage and classic written quite a few times.

What do these mean in Guitar terms, and would it be a good Guitar pack for playing general rock (one day tounge.gif)?

Don't get that, I got a Berhinger, and they're horrible guitars, the action on them is horrible, and they don't even sound good, for a begginer I would recomend a Squier, I got a squier, it's not a strat style though, it's called an S73, looks exactly like a Gibson SG, great playin guitar...

few days ago I tried to play thunderstruck intro ( by AC/DC), at first it was very difficult, now it's easier but I still cant figure the "C" part out, some weird combo there.

There's one of those my local guitar sop for £150. It's not really my thing though, it's heavier than a normal guitar, and he ne in town looks horrific, because it's dirty, and scratched. The one in the picture doesn't look too bad though, although it'd appeal to me more if it were to have a floating bridge tounge.gif

Hey guys, I just picked up an original dunlap crybaby wah pedal and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips, or maybe a website with some lessons or something on them. It sounds good but I can't play it worth a crap.

Just practice with it. Make funny sounds.

Eventually, you will begin to learn to use it.

The new Dean Dimebag Memorial ML's are sick. I have never played a guitar that awesome. A nice flat fretboard for serious shredders. That f*cker was NICE. The Dime-o-Flame. Too bad its like 1300$ or I'd be all over that like white on rice.... Can you say, SICK MOTHER f*ckER?
