It's actually very comfortable when standing with 1 foot on a chair.

Jesus... if the mental image I just got is anything to go by, you must be short. Surely you don't mean that you literally place the bottom of the thing on the floor?

Fender JagStang biggrin.gif By Kurt Cobain.

I bet no one else on this board has it.

Well I'm just a beginner (2 months only sad.gif ) so I suck.

Hopefully one day I can use the guitar's full potential.

Better to start with acoustic.

Yeah I think acoustics are easier to start out with. Because with an acoustic you can really abuse your fingers to the point where you can play for a continued amount of time on the acoustic so imagine how far you can play on a strat. Its a nice Jag I'll give you that. Looks like its in good condition. I dont know, I guess its just kind of like the rule of thumb for guitar players. Its like you have to start out on an acoustic. At least I did. Whatever you have at your disposal. When I first started out, I think I was like a month into playing. Well I went to this barbaque, and there was this guy there who has an '50 or '60 telecaster. He let me play it and when I started to play it, I turned off the amplifier. Oh man it was so cool. Tele's are VERY nice indeed but somehow I prefer Strat's more. Maybe because of the style I dont know. The whole stereotype of "Hendrix, Clapton, and Vaughn played a strat, therefore the strat is god of guitars." Well Ive actually grown to like G&L Comanche's. I dont know, its just like I played it once and fell in love with it. Like gambling or free hookers.

Nice guitars though, Im in the process of finding the power and energy to take a picture of my strat. Im actually gonna get a bass. Sooner or later.

This is what I have except its baltic bluehttp://www.fender.com/new_repository/squie.../0310600_md.jpg

and thats the bass I want. I have access to it and its like 20% of the original price.

lol, I didnt wanna say anything until you responded because thats kind of a mental image I really couldnt put into reality. I mean yeah Jimmy Page played his guitar with a violin bow but I just cant see someone going up on stage with a guitar, propping it up like a cello and then start wailing on it. But I also considered that you held it like you said right now, but I was crazy. *crazed face*

Okay Im better now.

Keep the pictures coming. Find your friends guitars too. can be a bass. Cause I really want a bass.

I disagree. I think they are pretty damn cool. They are acoustics with a smaller neck and body which is tight for me, cuz I hate fat ass acoustics.

But there is one problem -the acoustisonic I played sounded really quiet and kinda off. confused.gif

I wanna get a Martin acoustic. I dont really mind for Stratocoustics, I mean they are nice but I like Martin's better. There are so many bloody models, go to the martin website and it takes forever to load all those thumbnails.

Martin D28 is what I want though. My idol played one and yeah.

My friend has a little FirstAct (some ghetto company) acoustic and its nothing more than a ukelele (sp?). It had like 18 frets, and probably gave the mandolin a good run for its money in size. Poorly made but at least it could play and she was comfortable playing it.

you know what is impossible to do on pretty much any acoustic that I have ever played? Make a full bend. I just cant do it. I cant hammer on that well either.

Why would you want to? It's not hard though.

sh*te pic, and most likely a sh*te guitar. I can only play two or three songs. Oh well.

i can't really tell the difference between most acoustics. i tried tons of different makes and models in a guitar shop a few weeks ago and they're all the same to me. except ovations which have that stupid bubble back. i still just play my ancient one that's about 20 years old. the intonation's duff but it's pretty good for slide stuff so i'm fine with it.

getting a curt cobain signature guitar when you've only been playing two months isn't a good idea. you should start off on copies like squire or epiphone, i would only recommend getting a signature model after you've been playing for a few years. that way you can be pretty certain that you can play it and you're not going to quit and waste you're money.

8, Epiphones are pretty expensive though, since a lot of people in bands have thier own signature models and stuff.

I havent really gotten into Ep's... I dont really know... I stick with my Fender and Gibson and Martin for now. I guess Im just that stereotype for not expanding my horizons in guitars.

ButT! If it has 6 strings, tuned to anything better than an open C6, I will play on it, and play I will.

and street, I have to make a full bend to play Suzie Q, but its just that I have a crappy guitar and some even crappier strings on it, but I just like... cant do it... Im too weak and frail to make a full bend on a Yamaha C-310. Curse my lack of strength and poorly calused fingers!!!

I'm hoping to start off electrics with an epiphone, just something not to expensive but plays well enough. Here I'd say you can get an alright one for $300 CA. Not sure what models, I guess I should start looking though. Any recomendations?

Fender Squier is very cheap and effective. Its what I reccommend just because I have one and I am relatively satisfied with it. Its no Tele but you know at least it will play. I should look into Ep's though. My friend's girlfriend's best friend has one. She has been quiet about it so I dont know. At least it plays and she is learning off of it. But with knock offs of guitars I guess the whole rule of thumb that my friend steven said comes into play

Go with the original or dont go at all, except Jay Turser those kick ass

so I dont know what I should reccommend. Fender Squier, cheap, effective.

@Zoso: does your acoustic have nylon strings? because if it does those are a bitch to bend, you have to bend about 4 strings up to go up a step, no chance of playing the whole lotta love solo on one of those.
