Stunting on the PS2

Recommended Posts

Now I always thought I was one of the top notch stunters around, I could do flairs off of the banks by SSA, pull 360s everytime at Escobar International...but after watching some videos I've realized that I'm way behind the curve.

Are you guys editing your config files to pull of some of those stunts are do you using default settings?

Is stunting on the same level on a PS2 possible?

Thanks.

The first couple of vids I made I used mods and handling changes for the cars I used, but I realized doing unmodded stunts was much teh cooler so I've been using the default handling and cfg since.

Doing PCJ stunts on PC is much easier IMO using a joystick than the standard keyboard setup. I imagine the PS2 gamepad to be similar to using a joystick so I would think PS2 stunting should be no problem.

Recluse, you actually taught me alot (I bet you didn't even know it)

I watched Hyman stunt yesterday and after practicing for about an hour, I finally figured out how to do kicks off things. I pulled my first 1000 + degree spin yesterday (1503).

I used the helicopter on top of Hyman condos, I put it at an angle so when I went of the ramp that goes to the helipad I'd hit it. I almost cried when I did it (Not really, but it was pretty cool) lol.gif

Sounds interesting, would the kicking off of the helicopter give you more air? What do you gain from it?

But 1503 degrees... sheesh... dang good.

Dude, nice work smile.gif

I'm glad to hear my stuff is helping people with stunting, because I think stunting is teh cool fun in GTAVC, and that pulling off stunts you've never done before is much more gratifying than just beating the game. rah.gif

Keep at it and you'll be amazed at the stuff you can pull off. :big_thumbs_up_smiley:

Kicking off a maverick is a great way to initiate a spin stunt, and since the one on Hyman Condo is up so high, when you kick off it you have a long drop off the building that lets you achieve more revolutions.

The landing is a bit harder though.

Is there anyway to estimate how kicking is going to work? Right now its just sort of hit and miss for me...Most of the time I either do a slow 360 or a slow 720, but everyonce and a while I do 1000+.

Lol I did a kick that was worth the money for an ATI all in wonder card, same kick I did before but this one was 2692 degrees, I wish I had it recorded. I hit the the Maverick and spun like it was insane, I didn't even go very far, probably went 5 feet in front of the heli. I didn't even fall off the landing pad. But I don't think it was a true 2692 degree spin, because I still spun atleast 3 full rotations (3 x 360 is 1080 I think) when I hit the ground.

Sadly it was a fluke as the next I tried it I parked the helicopter to close to the lip and just came to a dead stop, so once again can any give me a little lesson on kicking? biggrin.gif

Check out my new vid (link to thread in my sig) it features tons of kicks and spins, many over 2000 degrees and one over 3000. Look for similarities and patterns in how the kicks work while you watch the vid. There's also some additional advice in the vid thread.

Certain vehicles will give a better result, a lot of it is about speed, angle, wheelie, and where you hit the vehicle you're kicking off.

But mainly it's about repetition and just getting a feel for it.

BTW, 2692 is an awesome amout of spin for such a short distance. cool.gif

I have a best un-morphed rotation on PS2 of 2263 (I did it today) but I didn't land it (fell off)-- here is a clip if anyone wants to see a good spot-- Its also good for morphed rotation (I got a 3153 degree there).

2263 rotation

its about 2.6 MB and 11 seconds long

You have to park a car backwards with its rear wheels at the top landing.

But of course my best rotation is 40,653 degrees on a Phils Place superjump (which I don't think is possible on PC version) It was a teleport superjump, I appeared extremely high above Phils place spinning rapidly and fell for a long time---when I landed I bounced and would have likely got an even higher rotation (due to time going up and back down instead of just down) but I caught fire and blew up before the second landing.

I had that downloaded already, that ones better than HSX I think, because you do patterns, you have like 5 big airs, jumps that get you roofs, then a set of jumps where you kick of things, it flows better than HSX. The syncing is great as well.

But I got that one line in the music from HSX in my head.

That..."Doesn't it make you/it(can't remember I just woke up) feel better?"

Hold on - 175 HP? What gives?

Get 100 %-- (I've had it over a year now)--its not reequired for jumping though.

You get:

Max health 200

Max armor 200

Extra set of clothes at mansion

All weapons have unlimited ammo

All vehicles take double damage (before blowing up)

3 bodyguards at the mansion

It is also a prequisite to getting a Godfather criminal rating.

Well, I gave myself away. I never broke 20 unique jumps (way easier in GTA3, I guess) and gave up on the ambulance missions. Did everything else, though, including the RC planes, quick reload, and that damned PCJ Playground mission. Plus, I can beat "The Driver" cold! That should count for something! suicidal.gif
