JasonB: I dont remember doing anything else except change the buildings and dummys limit. If there is some wierd crap in the exe then it would be Run Down That Guys, cause he was trying to add the train and change the loading points.

Lix: Im going to look into those wierd pieces sticking out. Its probably a non functional LOD of some sort and thier easy to fix.

xhispage: Im actually on no team. When I saw there was nothing happening on both teams I quit the project, but if any team needed help I'd lend a hand if I could.

But this team seems to be working real well so im helping you guys out smile.gif

About the airplane: Again a real simple fix.

Look in "GTA Liberty-City\data\paths"

There is a bunch of flight paths.

Each one controls a different piece in vice such as the heli, the dodo, and the 747.

Inside there are coords going down the sheet, all you have to do it take new coords from the game and stick them in.

Demerast or Knux, you guys are basically the leaders of this project. I know you guys don't like to admit it, but you guys are, or atleast very high up in this project. There are so many fixes and patches for this mod, that I think now is the time to put all of the patches, fixes, main.scm (combined) and put them into the auto installer and release a BETA of GTA:LC. IU can help do this, if you want (Gathering all of the patches and putting it into an installer)

Thanks

Well if u read knux's last posts, he says he's going to put all mods together and yeah i agree that you must create another beta and you can combine the map files too so it would be a full version and you didn't need to bother downloading gtawo...

It'd proabaly be best if we clear up afew more things befor a release is made. There are still some problems that need to be addressed.

But its getting close.

What do you think Knux and Demarest?

Just a minor question, does the 'Grenade bug' happen on this LC too?(You know, grenades falling through the ground).

Btw,you didn't answer my question,is GTA:LC going to have online features?

Thank you,and keep up the good work. rah.gif

Map Fix:

Here is a fix for all the islands.

-Fixes the streetlights (note: They seems abit too tall, maybe we should make a new model for them.)

-Fix for the missing road piece by the church.

-Additional props to Portland

Work to be done:

-The LOD's showing in different areas (I still havnt found them).

If you find a problem, post it up smile.gif

Hi folks, judging by developments over the last few days everyones having a good time. rah.gif

This is definitely my last major update before Christmas, and most likely till the New Year. As I've been busy assembling the files for this release I've not had the chance to enjoy the hard work put forward by the rest of the team, but this is about to change. You can find my latest 2D Fix files here on my new host. colgate.gif

At the moment these are the only files available, but I'm working on what I'll be calling the Texture Fade Fix v2.0 to avoid any further confusion with todays release. This will address faults that both Knux and MarkPaglio brought up in the Transparent Texture Fix v1.0. In the new set I've identified possible problem TXD's, and will be editing them into an 8bit format instead of DXT1/DXT3, so this should alleviate any problems people were having with the initial release.

Before then I'm planning on adding a page giving details on how to port GTA3's Radio Stations and how our custom GXT will interact with them. Mine and Aztlan's original posts on the subject are buried a few pages back, so if you plan on listening to GTA3's Stations and want to know which ones you're listening to as you flick through them, then this will be for you.

Enough of this, get the files and have fun!

@scarface_refugee: I wouldn't exactly say I'm the leader here. I put immense pressure on XXXXX for access to the GTA:LC files, I publically stated that this mod would come together, and I actively make the code. That's about it. My part is going to be long and drawn out and unfortunately requires other aspects to be completed FIRST before I can get serious about it. No much of a leader there, more of a started. That's why I'm so thankful that the community is pitching in to make this a reality. xmas.gif In the meantime, I will do what I can to help coordinate it all. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I post on subject X, some confusion continues to surround our project. Yes the large amount of releases can be daunting even for those that actively follow it, but it's all happening so fast that trying to group them together would really be a never-ending and perpetually confusing process even more so than it is now. The best we can hope for is like killer.ip's lead where he took all of his work and brought it together. Or Knux's progress and mine tend to supercede previous versions of our work, which makes it easier.

If somebody wants to appoint themselves the official IMG keeper and keep track of what all additions to the IMG are made and keep them organized on a site somewhere with options for manual or autinstall, that'd be useful as the IMG seems to be the most rapidly evolving area at the moment.

@Lix: Thanks for mentioning cheats. I hadn't even considered that. We may be able to convert what you actually need to type, but I'm not sure whether or not anybody interested in helping can change what they actually do unfortunately.

@Thesord: GTA:LC aims for a GTA3 port ONLY. After that, everybody will be able to mod it however they'd like. I've already got great ideas on how to "improve" the game, but want to save it until the port is finished. Unless the team sees it otherwise.

@Boombot: I look forward to the update. On the GTA:WO thing, they did nothing. The files were released on a limited basis prior to that and it wasn't until MONTHS of doing nothing and being pressured that REDSPIKE (not WO) decided to release the GTA:LC files to save face in the community. Not much of an accomplishment there.

@Knux: I've PMed illspirit on the possibility of granting GTA:LC its own forum. Listing the team members and compiling the updates may prove to be a perpetual duty and therefore not realistic. I realize a bit more order is needed here. I'm waiting to see what illspirit says because our own forum would organize things tremendously and I would be opposed to an off-site forum as I have a strong affiliation with gtaforums in general smile.gif

@Pine-Creek Skidz: Are you saying that the loading points are hard-coded? If so, we really could use them being put back to the way they were for GTA3. This could help out for those using lesser machines. For the moment, I think mini-releases of fixes is best. I'm waiting to see about our options. Once we get more of a concrete foundation is when we should consider a release. If nothing else, to divorce any further confusion over GTA:WO.

@killer.ip: Great work! Thank you for taking the initiative to pool your updates! smile.gif

@crazydude: Any word on the Dodo?

after the first tryout when gta:lc files were released.. i tried out some of the updates today for the first time. i have to say its very confusing, alldoh i dont have a better idea how to do it hehe.. maybe u guys should use ur nick name as file name and adress the issues in a readme..

i say this because i dl'd all updates into a folder and afterwards i had no clue what they were for nor do all have a readme lol

so if there would be like knux_v1 / v2 and so on. it would be easier to keep track...

i mean all u guys do is fixing issues.. u dont have to give an update a name nobody understands tounge2.gif

this isnt a big deal lol.. just wanna help

there also things that cross each other e.g. the airport fix (3 ipl's that need the #) getting redone on the mapfix by knux i think eekkk its confusing lol

hmm i didnt use all the fixes (only 4) cos the rest i dont remember what its supped to do lol

i used path 1.4 , airportfix , mapfix and nomad v3

@demarest.. cool work to spawn the hunter and pcj, but id suggest another button lol.. u dont wanna know how many times i got barried under the hunter when i tried to take off on a pcj rofl and whenever im running on foot the hunters spawn behind me which lags my game to death hehe

all in all really nice improvements on the map, paths and so on.

@knux.. ur path file doesnt crash my game incase u still need to know.

oh and a big LOL to the startingpoint in nomadv3.. right next to one of the big textures bugs hehehe

If by airport fix, you mean Knux's recommendation to delete a particular TXD, that was superceded by my work. The way he said to do it was partially erroneous because the IPL would reference it anyways (potential problems later on). Not only that, but I believe the escalators are the source of the crash. So once the escalators are out, you can have all the shadows and everything else. That's why the proper solution in the meantime is to use my updated COL file (on my site) and comment out just the one line that Krutchkov pointed out.

As for the spawning, it's set up to take when you're pressing Sprint AND NO directional buttons. So to prevent it from spawning, just push any directional key at the same time. The spawn point was chosen to celebrate that after months in WO's hands, we were finally able to fix the airport bug. Is there a more fun place to just stunt around in? smile.gif

After installing the last fixes my game crashes in portland sad.gif

the exact points are:

And here:

I think it happened after installing the skidz map fix or the 2d fix compilation of killer.ip

Edited by TheAnswer

ahh.. i must have missed the directional thingy lol

and no no.. the start point is fine by me.. prolly gonna change later on anywayz, so why do extra work.. in other words u could put tommy on the damn, i wouldnt say a word hehehe

with the airport fix i ment the 3 statements u have to # in the ipl plus the generic.col...

but, wtf.. it works lol nm me biggrin.gif

ive got 7 other updates i didnt try and dont know what they do.. when i have the time ill read all 12 pages rofl

in the mean time.. heres some cookie.gifcookie.gifcookie.gif for all the work u guys do smile.gif

edit: @TheAnswer.. i have skidz map fix installed and it doesnt crash, try undo the 2d fix and test it.

Edited by blaer

too much too read, no time to update everything.. too many things to add.. anyone waht to be webmaster and to do it? I'm busy with Run down that guy!! with the paths (he's doing some great job, there is some peds and some boats ingame smile.gif

I'll continue on my traffic today, I'll try to finish portland, I dunno if I will, bu I'll try.

@TheAnswer. this is normal for the traffic, it's because there is no nodes after that part so traffic truns back or it is totally f*cked because they dunno where to go.

@all the others, I'm enought busy with the paths, If someone could take charge of taking the files, do a little website (other that mine, or you can use mine).

@Demarest, good for the forum. I hope we'll have one smile.gif

@Skidz, great updates! I can't wait for the others!

@ the other things, I don't have time too read (too lazy) This topis is getting really popular, btw, Demarest, why is there cop light under your name???

Thanks for the bug report TheAnswer. smile.gif I've narrowed it down to one of the six files in the Salvatore & Extras pack. I'm loading up each file individually and heading around Portland until I can get a positive ID on which ones the culprit. I should have the answer within the next hour or two, so expect some reuploaded fixed fixes soon. blush.gif
