ok this is the latest on the airport with the col that dem has for a dl and the lines in landsw.ipl edited the only line that needs to be edited in landsw.ipl is

hi, just wanted to help a little so i gave it a go at the car paths for the third island (the one with the airport), lol, but i must suck in this because when i tested it seems ok and all, but its still kinda buggy

Your paths work pretty well, theres just a few spots where the cars do a jump from an intersection to another intersection in another area. But other than that, thier good xmas.gif

Well, I decided I'll help the GTA:LC team. (knux, crazydude, you guys know me as Posty from gtawo, mta, and gtat). Right now I made a menu for gta:lc instead of the gay little grey one (it isnt the best, but its better). I'm also working on making the weapon icons like gta3. I converted most of them into gta:vc, but i have to photoshop edit the other weapon icons that don't have an equal one to gta3. This is because gta:vc has more weapons than gta3. Now here's a few pics.

Updates:

Hidden Package Update

Simple, just changes the hidden package from that statue to the one from GTA3.

 

Tunnel Texture fix

Fixes the tunnel opening in shoreside vale where textures wernt being shown.

 

Updated CULL

Updates the current cull with a complete Cull. The Cull shows the game where rain and garbage cant be, so rain shelters shouldnt have rain in them anymore.

 

Take a look and reply if you have problems.

good work everyone that has released something for the LC project, this project seems to be going very well, i just hope i canhelp in some way other than making an EXE confused.gif btw who made the EXE for GTA:WO becuase there is something that has illuded me thusfar and i want to talk to the person that made it

And when I drove to this place(was checking kipo's paths, they're cool smile.gif) I saw a loading screen, it says Welcome to Vice City! here's the exact place where I got this message.

I drove to the left from that place and I got another welcome to vice city message, if you could edit that these borders were in the Staunton -Shoreside bridge...

 

PS: Boombot, your background looks quite good, but still a bit boring... We need something very new. Well now I'm using VC's background...

Well, ehre it is. This is the new menu and a few of the weapon icons are replaced. Here's what's in this.

 

 

GTA:LC Hud and Weapon icons v1.0

-Replaces the old gta:lc menu. Now a good looking one, not plain grey.

-Replaces the HUD weapon icons for the following weapons

1. Colt 45

2. Baseball Bat

3. Grenade Detonator

4. Grenade

5. Molotov Cocktail

6. Rocket Launcher

7. Flame Thrower

8. Sniper

9. Spas

10. Uzi

Amen to that. I cannot express how grateful I am to have Skidz working on the project too. I wanted to see this thing through to make sure all his work didn't go to waste and--as if morale wasn't high enough for the team--it's a big morale boost to have Skidz on board too smile.gif

 

@Krutchkov: Excellent discovery! I didn't even try doing them one at a time once I fixed the cull. This may help the ENTIRE community understand more about the escalators and why they interfere smile.gif

 

@kipo: We all appreciate any help you can give of course. I do have a question though. When you worked on that, did you use Knux's latest edition? I've never worked with the paths; is it something where your work and his work can commence simultaneously and be put together later? Forgive my ignorance on the subject. If so, then maybe you both can look at each other's work to see if you can find any mistakes.

 

While we're on the subject of double checking the work of others, I have had a couple people mention helping out with the coding. Not only is the coding going to be monumental, but I also have a tremendous amount of familiarity with GTA3's code (Timetwister). So for the most part, I plan to work on it alone. However, any coder interested in my source with "notes" is welcome to it. Just ask.

 

@Boombot: I can't speak on behalf of everybody, but I did want to express that I don't think you need to change ANYTHING about the menu. It looks very authentic and has the project name on it. Excellent work. And it looks like you beat me to the weapons HUD. You need not worry about all the weapons. Just look through this thread for the "official" weapons conversion list. Through the code, I plan on only having one weapon for each weapon in GTA3. This may become a problem since some law enforcement is hard coded. We'll get to that hopefully. However, I do have one MINOR complaint. One of my stipulations is that you share your work. If the menu is done enough to post, it's done enough to distribute so that others interested can use it too xmas.gif (you released it while I was typing tounge.gif )

 

@xhispage: Adding a single character to a single line in a text editor isn't exactly something I think needs assistance tounge.gif And I must admit that I have mixed feelings about WO benefitting from our work. But it's not like we couldn't see it coming.

 

@JasonB: I have mixed feelings about the EXE too. I would love to say edit it and don't worry about it. But you do realize that that is a large line to cross, right? The good news is that we're not really going to need too much edited in it. Right now, plucking the escalators out entirely and shifting the X boundaries from -2300to1600 to -2000to1900 is all I can think of. Except obviously law enforcement weaponry.

 

@Lix: I've had a couple people ask me about your continued negativity. I've been telling them not to worry about it because you're harmless and it's good to have fresh views. But you're not making it easy for me. For example, your first pic points out an error that anybody using the latest SCM spawns at anyways rolleyes.gif Also, you said that the menu was boring and that we need something very new. That's not true. This is a great place to be right now because--although the project itself is aiming for as GTA3-like as possible (which the menu very much so is--people can edit any aspect of it just like GTA3 and VC. So even though the menu will be considered the official GTA:LC menu, YOU don't have to install it. Or once it's part of the finished project, YOU can replace it. Keep the bugs coming, but try not to be discouraging. This team has a lot of steam behind it and I don't want to see that damaged; especially not by somebody who's not actively putting effort into it themselves colgate.gif

 

[EDIT since release of Boombot's HUD] Good work, Boombot. I do have a couple criticisms though. First of all the Ruger and Buddyshot are the replacements for the AK47 and Shotgun. So if you could rename the files in the RAR to be ruger.txd and buddyshot.txd, that would be great. Same to anybody who DLs that. If you need to change the TXDs themselve, I apologize. The official weapons list is posted here amongst the see of info. On my next day off, I'll take time to arrange all current data. Last but not least, you mention the WO team in your readme. As a matter of clarification, the WO team has actually done NOTHING to help us in our efforts.

 

[EDIT2] Almost forgot! Once you rename the files in Boombot's release, you can use this script for GTA Mod Installer v4.1

Actualy , some people over at GTA WO forums wanted to have an installer for it. As I dont know in wich team Skidz is , GTA LC and/or GTA WO , I decided to post it at both forums , im sorry if I did something wrong , I just thought i'd help out some peoples.

Yeah I know, that I may not download the background if i don't want to, but this is just my opinion. i always say my opinion about everything, you don't need to listen to it angry.gif Well, I'll try to be active and remind the team about the errors. For example, killer.ip fixed the bridge when I told him and skidz fixed the tunnel when I showed it, BUT I don't say you need to fix everything I say. And I can't really do anything, instead of replacing txds from GTAIII to VC or some texturing. And if someone don't like what i say, then just please ignore my posts.

@xhispage: Nobody said you did anything wrong. As for Skidz, I'm not sure that he's officially affiliated with either team. Obviously we'd like to consider him as one of us, but this project is basically open and relatively unstructured, so what matters most is that he's still helping. Remember that these files wouldn't be here without all of his hard work.

 

@Lix: As I've said before, your reports are helpful. I'm only asking if you can keep the negativity down as it doesn't help anything. If the team's fixing the things you're pointing out, you should be positive, not negative. That's just my opinion (and of those that have asked me about it). You don't have to listen to it tounge.gif

It's definitely hard coded. We want to move the world because the edge of Portland is inaccessible right now, which means the mission Gone Fishing would be unplayable in its original form. The limit adjuster isn't going to help this.

 

As for the airplanes you see running about may I redirect your attention once again to the overlay pic

You can see where VC's airport is in relation to the current LC layout. You're seeing VC's planes running about. I'm not sure if that's hard coded or not, but even if we never solved it, it wouldn't bother me any. I'm focused more on glitches that takes place in playable areas.

 

Last but not least, you mention the WO team in your readme. As a matter of clarification, the WO team has actually done NOTHING to help us in our efforts.

 

Well, actually they kinda did. If they never released GTAWO you guys would've had to get permission from skidz to release the maps early and stuff. Anyways, oh well. The readme isn't that important tounge.gif Yeah... I can't really update the .rar unless the guy who's hosting it comes online. Also, DON'T rename the files. Those are the weapon's texture files as well. It might lead to messed up textures if you rename them. I'll try and get an updated .rar up in a bit. Also, Deramest, if you have msn, pm me your screen name. I'd like to talk to you about a few of these things.

 

EDIT: I also forgot to include the FIST item in the .rar. That'll also be in the new one.

i thnk its because www.hot.ee does not allow external servers to see files. well the bugs were as follows , internet cafes windows cannot be seen trough , you cant see plane hangar walls inside and the trees in front of airport terminal have only one side.

damnit, I can't be away for 12 hours that there is too many things added to LC blink.gif . could somebosy get ALL the current fixes , put all the stuff together and send me the file(with a script if possible) it would be easier then having to get each little files.

also, I didn't tested the other paths, I'll finish portland today and start Stauton. Run down that guy said he will do all teh ped and boat paths. And by the same way , damn, GTA:LC is beginning to be really big now, we should organize things.

I'll try to do that, I'll get ALL the files on the thread, teste them and put all in a pack.

 

I'll also try to find a little forum for GTA:LC, because only 1 thread, it's a mess!(or maybe can someon find/do one?)

 

It's a lot of work, I'll PM each one of u to ask you want to do to make a list of all the stuffs. I'm like, taking the project in hand for make it stand right.

@Kipo, I checked your paths in the editor, looks good but only one thing, don't put too much space between nodes when road is a strait line or there won't be enough traffic on it. oh, and btw, you're are removing me some work.. that I like to do sad.gif

Im quite sure they can be put together; I wanted to include his work, but as he left alot of vice city paths, it was to much work to separate his part

thx for the advice. Im sorry to hear that, just wanted to leave less work for you, didnt know you actually like it that much, but my paths still need a lot of work, strange things happen all the time.
